Is it true that if a woman gets a tattoo on her lower back, that she cannot have an epidural?

Q. Im wondering because my girlfriend wants one and someone told me they wont give you an epidural during labor if you have a tattoo on your lower back.

A. "You should have no concern whatsoever in placing a needle through a tattoo and into the spinal or epidural space, as the pigment particles are "fixed" and stationary within the dermis, and cannot be mobilized by the needle or migrate along the needle track. There is really no danger at all in inserting a needle through tattooed skin."

http://www.painfreebirthing.com/english/tattoo.htm

"PubMed apparently did some research on this theory and concluded that there are no conclusions and no proof to substantiate this theory. [link=http://www.bmezine.com/risks/index.html]BME[/link] quickly dismisses this as an urban legend, but one pervasive enough that even doctors have been known to believe it. Tattooz.net's medical expert says, "The needle would go through the epidermis, dermis and into the areas where the anesthesia is infiltrated without difficulty", but wisely advises that anyone in this situation get personal professional advice from their own anesthesiologist."

Any pregnant women with tattoos on their stomachs?
Q. I have two large tattoos on my lower abdomen (right on top of each hip bone) and I'm really worried about how much they'll stretch. My tattoo artist told me she can re-touch them after I give birth if they "morph" (i love her choice of words) but I was just wondering how severely they will be affected. Anyone pregnant or have had babies with tattoos anywhere on their stomachs?

A. I had a small tattoo on my right abdomen. Not only did it grow (almost doubled in size) but I had stretch marks go right through it. I don't think they can tattoo over stretch marks, and if they can I don't even want to think about how much that would hurt. I'm not too concerned about the tattoo, though, cause my stomach will never see the light of day again :)

Tattoo's in the work place?
Q. I just saw a news report and the contraversy of tattoos in the work place and how some employers will not hire someone with visible tattoos. I am not totally in agreement with this. What about service men who have an insignia on their arm. Nothing wrong with being proud of being in the service. I have seen the tattoos " In memory of my brother _____" nothing at all offensive there. I have also seen beautiful 3D tattoos of someones child or pet. That is true art. Since when is art offensive? However, would you draw the line to someone that has skulls, swastikas, pictures of hitler, demonic symbols. What is the fine line between art and rubbish?

A. Unfortunately tattoos still have some stigma and are not considered "professional" by the mainstream. The mainstream employers have stereotypes about who gets tattoos. They are not all art. Would you want to see at work naked women, drugs. demons, antisocial statements............ Mine is covered by clothing unless I choose otherwise.

I need someone to draw a back piece tattoo in the Japanese style?

Q. I would like it to have a cherry blossom tree next to a winding stream with a Koi fish swimming upstream. And an young woman kneeling next to the stream looking at it. Mount Fuji in the back ground and a few cherry blossoms and petals falling in the breeze. If anyone could do that or knows of a site with a similar image that I can use for ideas, please let me know.

A. pay me first

Are girls that have tattoos on their arms considered ugly?
Q. I have a few tattoos on my arms, and I am planning to expand. I want all flowers and japanese waves, really colorful, and pretty. I am getting hell from my mother telling me that I look like a gangster, and people will frown upon me. Is she right, because she is old fashioned, or is she wrong?

A. I don't like women with tattoo arms, it just doesn't look right. But that is just my opinion.

Are the lower back "tramp stamp" tattoos the stupidest most ugly things in the world?

Q. Are those hideously ugly tattoos that so many young ladies are getting on their lower backs today the stupidest thing you have ever seen? Is it proper for women to scar themselves this way and then display the disfigured bodies for the world to see? Should they get the tattoos on their foreheads instead so that their husbands won't have to look at the tattoos during "intimate moments"?

A. I have to agree. The tramp stamps are usually the ugliest of all tattoos. No wonder the "artists" hide them where the women can't see them. They're probably scratch the guy's eyes out if they knew what an ugly tattoo he put on their bodies.

How can I be more awkward around women?
Q. The future is going to be very hot weather-wise, so I do not want to have children so they don't bust their a*s in a job just to buy air-conditioners and fans.

A good way to achieve my barren goal is to suck at getting women. So since most of you are knowledgable in this aspect, what advice do you have for me to be more awkward around women?

A. Neglect all personal hygiene. Fake Tourette's syndrome. Tattoo obscenities on your forehead. Expose yourself outside ladies restrooms .Carry a bag of your own excrement with you at all times.Commit hideous unnatural acts with small furry animals in public. Carry a certificate of being on the Sexual Offenders Register( GB only) and show it proudly to all concerned. Wear a greatcoat and stand outside school entrances. Should I go on?
Hope this doesn't help.
Good Luck

Why do people say getting tattoos are a sin?

Q. From what I been thought as a kid, the soul is what counts not the body. So what does it really matter? When you die you can't take your body with you. It just becomes an empty vessel that gets taken back into the earth.

A. It's well open to debate (I know many devote Christians who have tattoos relating to religion -such as the Virgin Mary or crosses who argue it is open to interpretation). Although I'm sure there are those who quote in Leviticus 19:28, “Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.” (NIV). This would seem to indicate that tattoos are a bad thing. It's suppose to be seen as you trying to alter the image of God (since humans are apparently designed in his image).

There are plenty of crazy things in Leviticus and else where in the bible that the same people who call tattoos a sin commit or disregard exist because they'd be viewed as immoral:
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that men are allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath.Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?
7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear glasses to see distant. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle- room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My friend's uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

Yes, some are these are well open to interpretation, however for the most part, these would be viewed as ridiculous as well as hypocritical if you tried arguing against them but tried condemning tattoos. I agree with you, it's your soul and personality that matters, your body is just a way of emphasising it. I enjoy studying this stuff, so I hope this helped or was intriguing.

What do you look for as a design on a t-shirt?
Q. What subjects are you fond of? Do you have a favorite book (Twilight, Pride and Prejudice) or a favorite movie that you would sport quotes from on your shirt? What colors and styles of designs do you like?

A. As someone in the graphic design field, I tend to buy graphic t-shirts that either have something remarkable about them (some of Ecko Unltd's tees do it for me), something that expresses a mood or feeling I can relate to, or something I am fond of (such as Japanese mythology and animals like the koi fish and lion).

I am not really fond of the grungy Medieval designs which seem to be really popular such as Affliction. However, I bought two of their t-shirts last year, because I liked the line they had by Japanese tattoo artist Horiyoshi III and their bamboo line caught my eyes. The softness of 70% bamboo and 30% cotton aside, they have a tee that illustrates a woman with wings with her hands together in prayer looking up and supposedly crying. The words "affliction" on that tee meant more to me than they would one one of their shirts with a grim reaper or two skulls.

Right now I am wearing a simple white t-shirt with a diamond shape -- similar to that of a construction sign -- and the words "OUT THERE" with an arrow pointing up to the neck hole inside of the shape.

Since I am light skinned, I tend to buy fabric colors in white, black, heather gray, or shades of blue. As far as the ink colors used in the design, I am open to pretty much anything. I have a white Ecko shirt with the rhino running through what appears to be a city-like jungle. There are grays in the rhino and browns in the monkey hanging from a lamp post, but there are also saturated colors in the vines and leaves and also in the parrots shown in the illustration. I also have a black shirt I picked up in Louisiana when I stopped at Rue21. It is a simple black tee that has argyle stars with paint splatter. The two colors used are two I would never think of wearing before: rose pink and bright green.

I find myself carefully picking graphic shirts these days, because a lot of people seem to be big on wearing a company name, number, or band on their tee. Who can blame them though since that are most of the designs I see in stores. I have nothing against that though, because the people who wear those shirts know how to make it look nice more times than not.

Why do some say All American Muslim not accurate?

Q. I talk a little on tumblr with an American Muslim woman and she said the show is not accurate and she won't watch it. Just wondering the point of view of others.

And sorry if this is in the wrong section, wasn't sure where to put it.
I thought people would be mature enough to answer this without me asking them to but I guess not. stop judging. 9/11 wasn't because they were muslim. There are bad people in every religion. Grow up.

A. Oh my goodness, I watched like 10 minutes.

It was horrible!

The fat lady was exposing her leg up to the hip to show off a tattoo she had.

Her eyebrow and I think her nose were pierced. She didn't wear hijaab in any aspect--her sleeves were to her shoulder, her hair was exposed, her entire body was practically exposed. her parents didn't care, but her husband had to miraculously be Muslim. The man didn't even know what shahadah was!!! He blindly accepted Islam. He did no research himself.

They had dogs, too!

It was terrible, so so terrible!

How would you describe her tattoos?
Q. How would you describe the tattoos on this woman's left arm? (The colourful ones)

http://tattoome.tumblr.com/post/327416582/sextats-fuckyeahladyboner-misselise

A. They remind me of Koi scales or dragon scales.

[Edit]

It is definitely water, scales, and a Koi fish swimming. Just confirming it.

A. Congratulations, you just described at least 100 different alt models.

Care to be more specific?

Does anyone know if a tattoo affects your breast milk?
Q. I would not think it does but I wondered if anyone has done any research on it. My husband and I are designating our children with animals so our first son will be given a bear. I am getting bear paw prints on my back but want to know if I need to wait till I am completely done nursing. I hope not bc obviously he is something that we are both proud of and want to show it together. My husband is getting a bear on his shoulder.

A. http://www.kellymom.com/health/lifestyle/mom-activities.html#Tattoos
Tattoos

There is no evidence that getting a tattoo will affect breastfeeding. There should be no harm to mom or baby from the dyes injected. If you get a tattoo, the biggest concern for anyone (not just nursing moms) is infection (hepatitis or HIV)-- so make sure the place you go has good references and is clean.

http://www.llli.org//FAQ/tattoos.html
Is it safe to get a tattoo while breastfeeding?

Tattoos are created by injecting ink into the dermal (second and third) layer of the skin. Tattooists use a hand-held electric machine that is fitted with solid needles coated in the ink. The needles enter the skin hundreds of times a minute to a depth of up to a few millimeters. The ink that is used in tattoos in the United States is subject to FDA regulation as cosmetics, but none are approved for injection under the skin. However, the ink molecules are too large to pass into breastmilk.

General information about tattooing also applies to breastfeeding women. Local and systemic infections are the most prevalent risks of tattooing. Local infections can occur when the recommended aftercare regimen is not followed. Aftercare includes keeping the tattoo clean with mild soap and water, not picking at the scabs and keeping the tattoo out of the sun. Tylenol is often prescribed for the pain, if needed. Systemic infections occur when universal precautions are not followed by the tattoo artist and can include such diseases as hepatitis, tetanus and HIV.

It is very important to screen the tattooist and the shop carefully, checking with the local health department for local laws and regulations. Professional tattooists will follow universal precautions such as sterilization of the tattoo machine using an autoclave, single-use inks, ink cups, gloves and needles, bagging of equipment to avoid cross contamination, and thorough hand washing with disinfectant soap. Most tattooists will not knowingly tattoo a pregnant or breastfeeding mother. It is suggested that mothers wait at least until the child's first birthday to give their bodies a chance to recover completely from childbirth before getting a tattoo.
Is it safe to have a tattoo removed while breastfeeding?

Tattoo removal is now accomplished with the use of lasers. The laser energy causes the tattoo pigment to fragment into smaller particles which are picked up by the body's immune system and filtered out. The removal process is bloodless, low risk and has minimal side effects. The same aftercare as for a tattoo applies to its removal.

There is no evidence suggesting that tattoos affect the breastfeeding relationship or have any effect on breastmilk. If you have chosen to adorn your body with a tattoo and give your baby the baby the best start in life by breastfeeding you can feel comfortable in your decision.

Q. I want something on my hip or wrist just to remind me to stay strong.

A. The tattoo that means strength is the black panther.

The black panther is the largest and most ferocious cat of the Americas, pound for pound more fierce and dangerous than: the tiger, the lion or the leopard. The panther is at the pinnacle of the food chain in the Americas. Wherever this feline is found, it's revered for its strength, valor and power. Also for its maternal gentleness. As a tattoo motif, the panther makes a powerful statement about the person who chooses it, for it is a symbol of courage, strength and personal leadership.

On a woman, they look best on a forearm or outer calf. If you want it perfect, make sure the length of the panther matches the length of your forearm or calf or it wont look right.

How much do tattoos typically cost?
Q. And I realize that pain tolerance varies from person to person, but on average how bad does it hurt? What is the least painful place to get one?

And what is the best place for a woman to get one that won't stretch (or stretch the least) during pregnancy?
It's going to be a small tattoo and I'm definitely not planning on getting pregnant for a long long time =)

A. Pricing on a small tattoo will vary according to:

-actual size
-colors
-artist/studio
-state
-location of tat
-studio minimum fees

Basically, any reputable studio is going to charge between $60 and $90 as a minimum fee no matter how small the tat. If you find a place that charges less, they are usually not the type of place you want to go to. A small black-ink-only tat will usually go for somewhere in that range.

As far as pain goes, of course it varies greatly from person to person, but the general rules of thumb are:

1) anywhere on the bone tends to hurt more, examples are the spine, ankle, shoulder blades, etc.

2) anywhere with a lot of nerve endings will hurt more, for example the buttocks, rib area, inner wrist, or inner upper arm.

The top of the thigh doesn't hurt nearly as much (while the back of the thigh is quite sensitive), and the back of the hip where you have a little padding and fewer nerve endings also hurts much less. However, the pain anywhere is fleeting and all part of the experience. You'll do great. It's not all about end product, right?

If you are concerned about stretching during pregnancy, you can easily get tattooed on your back, arms, legs, or neck. Many women get wrist tats especially when they want something small, easily seen (or covered, for that matter), and not easily affected by drastic changes in weight.

Take your idea to a tattoo studio or artist you trust, and ask them any questions you might have. Consultations cost nothing and are the best way to alleviate any fears, inform yourself, and get to know the artist you'll be working with.

Best of luck!

How would you perceive an attractive female with a not so girly tattoo?

Q. but not manly at all! just not the average hearts, butterflies, all that unoriginal stuff (no offense they look cute and all!) haha

something alittle more. for example a tattoo like angelina's, megan fox's tats etc?

i personally love them and it makes them a little endearing and mysterious, its not something you'd expect from a pretty girl. makes her unique

def. badass! what do you guys think? just curious?

A. i personally think that not so feminine tattoos are hot on women, and all the guys ive dated would def. agree.

most of the guys ive dated or been interested in, ive met because they noticed my tattoos and were intrigued, which is not very common for pretty young girls to be very heavily tattooed. [i mean, two sleeves, full chest piece, feet, ribs, one calf, piece on the neck behind the ear.. pretty heavy]

i mean, you'll never be able to get EVERYONE you ask to agree that theyre hot or not, but from my experience and from people i know, heavy tattoos or not feminine tattoos on women are extremely hot.

at the same time, i do get weird looks, or ive had an old woman say to me "those are for ugly girls" or things like that. i do have people ask "why such a pretty young girl would do that to herself", so yes, there will always be haters. but get a tattoo for yourself, not for the rest of society!!

tattoos are also starting to be a lot more socially acceptable these days-- almost everyone, even a community's most-respected people, are getting tatted up now!

How can i save my tattoos while tanning in a tanning bed?
Q. I have a big colored tattoo where my front ribs are, and ive heard that tanning will fade it out. I spent alot of money on my tattoo and if its going to be on my body for the rest of my life, i want it looking good as long as possible. Advice please, (im aware of the dangers of tanning blah blah okay cool were clear)

A. You could use sunblock or cover it with a towel. Tanning beds WILL fade your ink. I know maybe you think that being "tan" is sexy but seriously reconsider this. Tanning salons are going out of business left and right. For starters, fake tans usually LOOK fake. Secondly it destroys your skin and makes it look like leather when you are old and this is a proven fact. I don't even have to go into the health risk because you probably know already.

I am a man and I have LOTS of tattoos. I love to surf, hike and be outside. BUT being inked is a lifestyle choice and I know that. So I wear a wetsuit, I wear long sleeves and I wear sunblock all the time. I have spent thousands of dollars and I have my bodysuit almost complete. This means I can NEVER use a tanning bed and I have to avoid excess sun forever. That is okay with me. I love my ink and want it to last forever.

As a guy I am going to be honest here. I think overly tanned girls look stupid! It isn't sexy, it isn't cute and it isn't healthy. It also makes you look old and will destroy your ink. People who bake in tanning beds look weird. Especially if a woman has nice ink that is attractive to me. I also like people with their NATURAL skin color! Baking in a tanning bed was hot in 1985. It isn't hot in 2011. There are tons of self tanners on the market if you want to look darker. If you care about your ink STOP with the beds! Good luck!

What your honst opinion for chicks with sleve tattoos?

Q.

A. One well done three-quarter sleeve makes an already attractive woman look exotic. A full sleeve looks good too, but I have a special fondness for the three quarter sleeve. They look very ladylike. They show forethought, planning and good judgment.. That's my honest opinion, since you asked. Take good care.

Sleeve tattoos in the Air Force?
Q. I was wondering about the reg on having a sleeve tattoo in the Air Force. I'm already in, I'm just confused as to what the rules are. I know 2903 says a quarter of the exposed body part, but I have a supervisor and a co worker who have full sleeves and just wear long sleeve sand t shirts and keep their ABU sleeves down. Is that actually allowed? Or is it something that is just overlooked? I hardly ever wear my blues, and if I do, it's service dress for a ceremony or something. So the short sleeve blues wouldn't be an issue, and I can wear a long sleeve pt shirt. If there's anyone who knows what the actual rule is, that would be great.

A. Tattoo rules have changed and are changing as the tattoo fad is fading. It is more restrictive now but some folks were "grandfathered" in although extensive tattooing may effect their future promotion.

The best way to handle it is to consult your Command and get a written directive to keep PERMANENTLY.

However, the absolute best way to handle it is NOT get any stupid tattoos. Since 47 MILLION Americans (including the little old ladies in their 70s with fresh tats) are now tattooed to demonstrate their conformity and herd instinct you might want to think about being an individual and a real rebel and NOT get any.

In 10 years you won't have to be one of those people looking in the mirror, thinking, "What the HELL was I thinking?"

Another consideration to ponder: Tattoos - especially full sleeves - are genuinely expensive. What could you be doing with that money that would be more beneficial and constructive to your life? Maybe find a nice woman and date her?

If you want to be a lemming, go right ahead, but consider what happens if the rules change again later.

What should I add to my first tattoo?

Q. Hey! Im getting a tattoo soon and I think i know what I want to get. I think I might be getting a feather with birds coming from the tip. (http://fashionwhoree.tumblr.com/post/14673789561/i-will-get-this-before-i-die) if you can see that link. If not its similar to this http://www.google.com/imgres?q=feather+tattoo&um=1&hl=en&client=safari&sa=N&rls=en&biw=1024&bih=605&tbm=isch&tbnid=QAcq8OUd2xxV9M:&imgrefurl=http://areatrendy.com/feather-tattoo-design-for-women/&docid=hmxpbrYzsN_o7M&imgurl=http://areatrendy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Feather-Tattoo-Design-For-Women-5.jpg&w=550&h=356&ei=S1Y1T93LB-SU0QHGvYHOAg&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=802&sig=104875934395728503182&page=1&tbnh=117&tbnw=155&start=0&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:0&tx=28&ty=54.

But I want to add a quote to it I think. I want it to sort of represent me escaping from the abuse of my father and being free. I might want to do one of the following quotes.

"Know your worth"
or "We accept the love we think we deserve"
Or
"without struggle there is no progress"

Or maybe I shouldn't add a quote?

I want opinions. I would like the tattoo in the same spot as the first picture, so on my shoulder blade area. So I'm not sure where the quote would go or what not. Help please!

A. I like the design. personally, I wouldn't add a quote. the symbolism in the feather/birds is enough, to me.

London, Feb 20, 2013 I've been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 22 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. It’s made from coal tar and is used in both permanent and semi-permanent hair colours. It’s well-known to be a cause of serious allergic reactions -- including something called contact dermatitis which can lead to rashes, blisters, and open sores.
PPD is sometimes added to black henna tattoos and that using them is not safe. Allergic reactions usually begin within two to 10 days following application. One bad reaction can lead to sensitivities to other products such as hair dye, sunblock and some types of clothing dyes. Oftentimes, it's using the product a second or third time.

What do these tattoos give the impression of me?

Q. I want a tattoo for my 18th b-day. It's my first tattoo and I want it to look cool, but at the same time I don't want people thinking the wrong impression on me. I don't want people thinking my tattoo looks douchy or makes me look like a conspiracy theorist. I want women to look at me and think that I am hot.

Anyways here are the two tattoos I had in mind.

http://pinterest.com/pin/520588038146305522/

Tell me what you think, and if you can link me some pictures of some tattoos that might look cool that would be great.

A. 2nd one. But to be honest, i kind of dig guys without being all tatted up. Just as long as you have a good sense of humour, nice personality and the way a guy would treat me is more than enough. Being hot is just another bonus. Good luck. :)

What style of art is this?
Q. I saw this tattoo and I was just wondering what this style is called?

What is the significance of having a small tattoo on the hand in the area between the thumb and index finger?

Q. I work with an older woman who has a very small roundish tattoo on the side of her hand. I've never gotten a close up look but I could swear I'd seen that before somewhere else. I want to say it signifies something but I can't for the life of me remember. Anyone know what it means? I would ask the woman but from what I can tell she's a fairly private woman and I wouldn't want to offend anyone.

A. Hold ur head high , Walk up to her , smile, and speak with respect
and with purpose in your voice. The old are always willing to teach
the young . If she is Jewish , it may be from the German prison .
YOU GO GIRL . You won't offend her if u ask about her tattoo.
HEY if by chance you do ,,,,,, She is not a woman but a bit$h .
I don't think she really is. Never be shy in life . Do u hear me ????

Why do women find my tattoo offensive?
Q. I can't figure out why women find my tattoo so offensive. The tattoo is on the palm of my right hand and it says "Captain Slapaho" in big cursive blue letters. It's just my individual expression. How come women always get so mad when they see it?

A. pics or it didn't happen :]

What does everyone think of tattoos on the side of the arm?

Q. I have been wanting a tattoo similar to Sahar from the Real World New Orelans and Elina from ANTM cycle 11. I think it looks delicate and feminine, but I don't know if it will always look good. What do you think?

A. I think their tattoos are really good and they will always look good. But I would like to recommend you some other tattoo designs because tattoo designs must be unique, you don't need to copy their tattoo. If you are looking for some feminine & delicate tattoo designs then in my view butterfly and fairy look good on arms. Let's see on this girl having a wonderful tattoos of butterfly on her arm. we think Both women and butterflies have wonderful, curvy forms. They both have delicate, soft texture and are very pleasing to the eye. Tattoo of butterflies can be any size is also important.

What is your view on women with tattoos?
Q. I work for Raven Tattoo Care, a tattoo aftercare product, and only hear one side of the story, people who have made tattooing their life! Big tattoos on the calves, on the shoulder, the low back - do you think they are pretty and make a girl/woman look more attractive or not? You can guess where I stand on the issue, but I am curious what the general population thinks - does this make you look differently at the person, as if they are lower class/trashy - or do you see it as something beautiful, a work of art, an expression of who the person is? Just interested in opinions.

A. as someone who also works in the business i get to see both opinions, and agree that both are right. There are women out there who are simply trailer trash and have a tramp stamp on their lower back simply to make people look at their ass (in my opinion most v shaped flash tribal down there is simply an arrow). I do see that as an expression of who they are, trashy.

However there are others, myself included, who have a true piece of artwork on their back. The style i have looks like the flowers are airbrushed on and people always want to touch it to see if its actually real or not. Never has anyone called it trashy. i dont see it as a personal expression of anything because i didnt get it to say ive got a tattoo there or even because i like that design more than anything in the world. It was a gift from my mentor and it was more a bonding experience than anything else. i dont think it makes me any different a person than i was before.

How can I convince my g/f to accept new friend with tattoo's?

Q. So much is happening here in India. Esperanza and I are finally starting to relax now that we've identified the place where we want to get Ryan his tat. Thanks for the suggestions, everybody! We still have to book the appointment.

Anyway, remember that “backpacker” we saw getting tattooed at Baby Tiger Tattoo in Randi Market? We ended up seeing her in a ‘dhaba’ (like a diner) with her boyfriend....and their little one! It turns out they are Israeli. So we chatted with them and about their tattoo experience. Aleah (the backpacker) has a whole bunch of tattoo’s. She has:
- a white tiger on her left ankle

- two tigers with Chinese symbol’s for best friends in between on left shoulder

- memorial for her dead ferret on right ankle

- a dragonfly on right shoulder
- a dragonfly on wrist – that was the one we saw her getting!

She told us the story behind each one, and we were very touched. So meaningful! All I can say is that we are VERY anxious (in a good way)!

Their daughter, Netanya, is around 7 month’s, so she and Ryan got along well. Aleah and Namir (bf) invited us to go hiking with them in Dharamsala – that is up in the mountain’s where the Dalai Lama lives!!!

We really want to go, but there is one small problem. As you know, Esperanza thinks women with tattoo’s are sort of trashy.....I know, I know....she can’t help it though, it’s her cultural upbringing. I think it’s ironic because Aleah and Namir are Israeli and they are not “supposed” to get tattoo’s either...Ranza doesn’t get the irony.

Help! What can I do to convince her otherwise??? I REALLY want to go to Dharamsala (and I know she would enjoy it, too)....

A. I have been following this saga from the beginning, From the dragonfly picture that I saw from the "Baby Tiger" artist, she is an amazing artist and I am sure that this backpacker's other ink is amazing as well! I really can't wait to see a picture of the ferret tattoo if you can get one because I lost my pet rat a while ago, and I have been looking for a memorial tattoo design on the internet and haven't been able to find one! I think with a picture of the memorial tattoo for the back packer's ferret in hand, I might be able to go to my artist and get my tattoo started! I mean without an exact picture of what you want, how can you expect your artist to get the tattoo right?!?
But I digress...
Anyway, if Esperanza has seen the amazing art that on this woman, and she still thinks that tattoos on women are trashy, then there is no changing her mind! I mean, it is pretty much the same as someone seeing Jesus perform a miracle live, right in front of them, and them still not believing! At this point there may be no hope. However, before your friends start off on their journey, can you please get the ferret pic and email it to me? my address is tribal_and_butterflies_ and_rats_4 ever @ tat.com (take out the spaces).
Thanks and good luck with Ranza!

What does it represent when a woman has a tattoo on her ankle?
Q. I've known two people with this. First was my sixth grade teacher, she had a butterfly tattooed there. Then it was my therapist. I recently saw hers, couldn't see what it was clearly. An answer from an old question said that it meant that they were a lesbian. Is that true? Or is it because they work in respectable places so they can't show tattoos anywhere else but the ankle?

A. It doesn't mean anything other than they like tattoos. I have one on my ankle and 5 other ones in places ranging from my hips, neck, and arm. None of them can be seen unless I want them to be seen.

What will you feel or think about a woman with tattoo?

Q. So I'm planning to have a little tattoo on my wrist. A remembrance of my effort for my weight loss.. I love tattoos but I know what people might think of me. What will you think of me if you don't know the reason? Thanks! :)

A. Congrats on the weight loss. I think of tattoos as a way of self expression. Some people think they are trashy but don't listen to them. Don't care about what people think of you, if you love your tattoo that's all that matters.

What do you think about women having tattoos?
Q. I don't mean substantially tattooed, just like a couple. Two small wrist tattoos, one on each wrist. Or just tattoos on women in general. ? Thanks.

A. I don't like it when people have one or two small tattoos*, get big custom work or just don't bother.

Properly tattooed women are fantastic. My wife has her sleeves done.

One, significant, personal, piece is different to a f*cking dolphin/star/flower/bird/cherry blossom.

What do you think about older women with tattoos?

Q. so, im thinking about getting tattoos like crazy. Mostly on my arms. People always be like that's stupid what are you going to do when you get old, but im thinking if you're 80 with tattoos.. Who cares because you'll still look old just with tattoos. I mean if your 110, with or without tattoos, im pretty sure you're not going to be the most beautiful thing on the planet. Just send me you're opinion on this.

A. I would think, hey, there's an older woman with tattoos, she must be a unique, strong-willed person. I am getting close to forty, and have two full sleeves, leg tattoos, and back tattoos. I love all of my tattoos just as much today as I did back when I got them. I say, get settled into adulthood, then tattoo yourself crazy!!!

How weird would it be for a guy to get a cherry blossom tattoo?
Q. I love the trees but usually just women get them as tattoos. Just wondering how weird it would be for a guy to get one.

A. I actually love the idea.

I think it shows you are unique and comfortable with who you are.

I think you should go for it and be proud.

Can I still get a sleeve tattoo with keratin pilaris?

Q. It causes small bumps on my upper arms. Over the years, it has left some scarring, but when it is at its best, you can't really feel it just notice an uneven tone. Will this effect getting a sleeve tattoo?

A. You will still be able to get a sleeve tattoo, and it will look good. I'm getting mine done in March and I also have KP. Ive seen pictures of women who have gotten tattooed over KP and you can not tell it's there. But they all had full sleeves without any space.
Also I recommend using acne wash on your arms to smooth it out and reduce redness, I use Clean & Clear acne wash. KP isn't acne but Keratin becomes trapped under the skin and also traps hair on your arms and causes the pimple like bumps on your arms. The acne wash removes the top layers of skin thus smoothing out the bumps.
Good luck with your tattoo!

What is the male equivalent of a "tramp-stamp"?
Q. Really hard, frosted and gelled hair? Tribal tattoos on the upper arm? What is it?

A. Anything tribal. I've seen some men with them in the area that a woman would normally have a "tramp stamp". I call them Jersey plates

how to dye my hair blue black?

Q. I want to dye my hair darker. I've wanted black hair, but i love LOVE blue, so now i want it like a black hair in regular lighting, but in bright lighting, it gives off a really nice blue tint, that is visible to other people. Any suggestions on what brand to buy?

Brands thinking of buying:

-superdrug midnight blue: http://www.superdrug.com/hair-colourants/superdrug-vibrance-midnight-blue-28/invt/205444/

A. When I was in HS, and my hair is just shampooed, and go outside in the sun, my hair turns blue-black. I've stated my hair since then, as blue-black. Try Clairor's superdrug midnight blue and see what happens.

Hey i need help convincing my mom to bleach my hair. Please read all?
Q. Okay so I have my hair currently dyed teal but it didn't turn out the way i want because since we didn't bleach it it wasn't bright enough. I really want to dye my hair this pretty green and blue style (link to see will be at the bottom) But I'm not blonde I'm like dirty blonde so for it to work right we would have to bleach my hair. My mom was going to bleach my brothers hair when he was like a year older than me. So i don't really see the difference in bleaching my hair. But she keeps putting it off and i really want that hair. Please don't comment about bleach is bad for hair or just deal with it. That doesn't help cause i wont just deal with it. I'm not that type of person. How do i convince my mom to let me bleach my hair. Thanks. Here is the link:

A. Overlapping dye onto previously colored hair is what creates dullness and dryness. If you color your hair @ home, let your roots grow out as long as you can stand, so the line of demarcation is easier to spot. Only run color through the lengths for five minutes to refresh the ends. To extend the time between touch-ups, use a gloss and deep -conditioning treatments. They will help smooth cuticles roughed up by daily wear & tear, and the hair will look shinier. ~ Harry Josh, hairstylist of the celebrities.

Does anyone know any good tattoo place in LONDON?

Q. Does anyone know any good tattoo place in London.
How much does a tattoo normally cost and how much do they hurt.

A. There are a lot of tattoo studios in Camden Town that I hear are quite good. I can't give you a personal recommendation as I've never used any personally, I'm up in Leicester, but I would go there and take a walk down the main street and pop into the ones down there, get a feel for the place, chat to the artist and ask to see a portfolio of some of their work, and then see where you're drawn to. As for how much they cost and hurt - totally depends. Tattoos can range from £15 to £500 and beyond lol. Totally depends what you want. Studios always have walls of flash (pre-designed tattoos) with a price list. You can take a look at those and get an idea of the price. For custom work, they usually charge by the hour. My artist is about average and charges about £60 an hour, although I imagine the prices will be a bit higher in London. Never be tempted to go to anywhere just because it's cheap, cheap doesn't usually equal good with tattoos. But even if you wanted a tiny design, shops usually have a minimum amount they'll charge, usually between £20-£40, which is the minimum you'd pay even if you hypothetically wanted a tattoo of a little dot. Go and check it out. And the pain depends on your tolerance, the artist, and the placement of the tattoo. I have a really, really low pain tolerance, and the tattoos I've had on my back and rib areas have hurt me a lot, but the fleshier areas have been virtually painless. The most painful areas are your spine, ribs, feet, chest, etc. Least are like, calves, upper arms, bum, stomach (although I don't recommend abdominal tattoos, women's weight fluctuates there over the years and they can become distorted, and if you have children it can really ruin them). But for a small tattoo, even on a painful area it's not so bad, for me the pain is more when he's been going over the same area for hours on end. Little tattoos can take less than half an hour, so that'd be bearable wherever you had it. My advice is not to walk into a studio and pick a piece of flash off the wall and get it done there and then. If you want to use flash, that's your choice, but at least go away and have a good think about it before getting it done. But it's probably better to design something personal to you, you can look for inspiration on the internet and take pictures into your chosen artist who can draw something up for you if you can't draw well yourself. Always take a few weeks to consider the tattoo you want. I've been certain I've wanted something before and then actually changed my mind while waiting, and been glad I waited. Other things I've waited and still been set on, and been able to get more comfortable in the knowledge that this is what I really want. Good luck.

Elaborating on an existing tattoo.... looking for ideas please!

Q. I have a plain ankh tattoo on my chest which sits above my left breast and a couple of inches over from my breastbone. I have been wanting to do something else to it for a while now but I'm not sure what to do. I also have a problem with space because I have a tattoo on the front of my left shoulder and I don't want the ankh extension to look like a part of the shoulder tattoo.

I normally am a creative and somewhat artistic person but I'm coming up blank with ideas. I'd like the extension to be related to the ankh instead of something random that has no connection. Basically, I don't want the ankh surrounded by a generic swirly design. Please help! I'm stumped so any ideas would really be appreciated.

A. I found this image (temple symbol with other Egyptian symbols:
http://www.shopategypt.com/store/images/gold-ankh-pendant-11b.jpg
Here is the site where I got it from, there are 2 more Ankh's with Lotus's also: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.shopategypt.com/store/images/gold-ankh-pendant-11b.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.shopategypt.com/gold-ankh-pendants.htm&h=570&w=570&sz=20&hl=en&start=1&tbnid=Tkk0QTrRj27OtM:&tbnh=134&tbnw=134&prev=/images%3Fq%3DAnkh%2Binside%2Bof%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG
And here is another:
http://egyptiantreasuresandgifts.com/images/Pendant%2021%20Ankh%20birds.jpg
You could get the scarab beetle above it: http://egypt.mrdonn.org/scarab.gif
and/or 2 Egyptian Lotus on each side: http://www.tween-the-shadows.com/p/egyptian/lotus_ankh_egy05_th.jpg
Here is a Google 1st page of Egyptian symbols:
http://images.google.com/images?um=1&hl=en&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=Egyptian+images+symbols&spell=1
You could add an image on each side - power, life, stability:
http://www.gatemm.com/wallpaper/ankh_djed_was_th.jpg
You could put the winged scarab on the Ankh:
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.mysticunicorn.com/graphics/comstock/j7111th.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.mysticunicorn.com/egyptianjewelry.html&h=150&w=91&sz=10&hl=en&start=168&tbnid=yur50s8aRzW6FM:&tbnh=96&tbnw=58&prev=/images%3Fq%3DAnkh%2Blotus%2Bdesign%26start%3D162%26gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D18%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN
You could put this man and women on each side with or without the eye of Horus above: http://z-jewel-designs.com/yahoo_site_admin/assets/images/window0276.4280031_std.jpg
And here is the Ankh with the winged cobra (immortality?):

Good luck with your choice!

My boyfriend likes girls with tattoos...help?
Q. Ok so this is a very long story... but i really need some advice as idk what else to do.

My bf and I have been dating for over 4 1/2 years already. We have always been very happy and our relationship has been great. We first started having a some problems when he got a new job and his supervisor was a tattooed girl with piercings and crazy hair. She was not attractive but had that "suicide girl look". He never expressed any feelings for her and thought she was ugly. months went on and slowly i noticed they were becoming work buddys. He started being more secretive about her and she would flirt with him right in front of him. i told him i did not like her and to stop talking to her and keep it professional. He didn't like that idea and claimed she was just his "friend". so this went on for a while and finally one day he told me that he was sort of "attracted to her & liked her style". that really hurt my feelings because i was right all along. anyways, we somehow made it after all that. However, i have never forgotten about it and still resent it.

a couple of days ago, i was on his laptop and while typing a URL, her tumblr popped up. This infuriated me. Why was he looking at her tumblr? it had been over a year! he didn't see when i saw the tumblr so i confronted him saying that i saw a girls blog. he panicked so much and lied for his life. presented me with a suicide girl's tumblr. I was crushed because he had just lied to me about her again. told me he was just "curious". may i add this was all on my birthday?! anyways i forgave him again like i always do.

then we go back to tumblr.... he has a tumblr dedicated to "tattooed girls". i've known about it but never asked to see it and gave him privacy. so after my bday incident when he showed me the suicide girls tumblr, i wanted to see it. i did and he only followed about 9 people, and liked about 40ish photos (all tattood women). then i see the women he had previously showed met that he thought was really hot and guess what? she looks just like her supervisor.... i was very upset at that. I've had just about enough giving him so many chances and trying to "understand"guys needs. so i thought i deserved to express myself, i told him he could keep looking at those girl on tumblr but not the one that looked like his supervisor. he said he never made the connection between the two but idk if that true because he will lie for his life to not make me upset. he promised me he would not look at her because he didn't want to loose me. Wrong, he still looks at her although i said i didn't want him to.

my thing is, i am aware that he watches adult movies online, has a tumblr with naked tattooed women and i have said that is ok as long as its during his private time and doesn't make it personal (he had looked some up on instagram and had several wallpapers on his comp). and yet he cannot understand and leave ONE girl alone although it makes me very upset because it looks like her supervisor?!?!?!

and now he tells me that he now goes on his tumblr more often then ever. that me being "jelous" and telling him not to look at that one suicide girl makes him want to even more. so lately he has been going on his tumblr everyday and liking many photos. i am just so confused and don't know what to do. he says he thinks girls with tattoos look hot but would never ever date one and that he doesn't really care if they are the most attractive girls as long as they have tattoos which is he found his supervisor "attractive". However this worries me because now every time i see a girl with tattoos i feel like his is drooling over her.

he always tells me he loves me and the way i look.

About me: I would consider myself an attractive girl and very sweet. I don't want to sound conceded but many guys express that they think I'm beautiful, hot, cute etc. Ironically I've always liked tattoos and piercing and think some girls do look attractive. I have 3 body piercings, gauges, and several ear piercings. I also have future appointments for tattoos to get done on me.

Please help. Anything. I know its a lot of info but any advice will help.

A. Look, you've told him how you feel about him ogling those pictures and you've asked him countless times to stop. He still does it. What does that tell you?
He doesn't respect you or your feelings.
Having certain preferences is fine, and he may well genuinely love you.
But when your fantasies start spilling over and causing problems in your personal life, that's when it stops being a preference and starts becoming an obssession.
Deep down, are you planning these tattoo appointments because YOU want them? Or are you doing it because you're trying to "keep" him?
If it's for you, then fine. But if even a small part of you thinks that he'll be more "attracted" to you, or will treat you better if you are tattooed as well, then I would urge you not to do it.
It's fair enough liking tattoes, but when you're with someone, you're not with them for their body art. You're with them for the person they are... And you accept them as they are.
If he doesn't respect you, honour you, and treat you right NOW, then he is never going to... Tattoed or not!
I think you need you either accept that this is the way he will always be and stop expecting him to change, or walk away and find someone you trust, who makes you feel secure and loved.

Do upper rib tattoos stretch if you get a breast augmentation or pregnant?

Q. So I have finally decided on getting a tattoo on my upper rib cage, a few inches below my armpit, however I am thinking about getting a breast augmentation next year and was wondering if it would cause the tattoo to stretch at all? I feel that there normally during breast augmentations the skin usually stretchs from other areas but I was just curious if there was any pulling from the side. Another concern is when a woman gets pregnant if it would cause the tattoo to stretch at all?

A. yes, my friend who got her breasts augmented had alot of stretch marks, meaning obviously they've stretched alot.. but it depends on how much cup sizes you'll be going up. And yes it will get very much stretched during pregnancy

Both augmention and pregnancy will make them stretch

what to get my boyfriend for christmas?

Q. He's 23, into tattoos and piercings. (I already bought him a tattoo machine and piercing kit). He works with sheet metal and makes all kinds of stuff with it. Hes very artistic, He also enjoys cooking and is a huge animal lover. I dont know what to get him that he doesnt already have. Help?
Hes not big into high technology. (Not good with computers or anything of that sort.)

A. As most 23 year old he probably would like electronics. An ipad is a good choice (since he is not into computers then ipads are perfect, more of a gigant iphone to check his email and facebook).

if he is into video games the new Xbox Kinect might also be a good.

If he is artistic then he might like a new sketch pad, or drawing materials, like pencils, pastels, charcoal, etc. Maybe a canvas if he paints.

If he enjoys cooking maybe a new cook book along with a new kitchen appliance that will help him make what the book says to make.

but I will also suggest getting him a "sweet" present as well, something like a picture collage or an artistic thing of your own. Something that took time and thought, will also go a long way. Trust me guys like that sort of thing too.

You seem like a smart young woman, I'm sure you will think of something. and remember we always love the things our girlfriends get us, we are not as picky as you might think.

Help! How do we get those ugly people off the Yahoo email page?
Q. You know what pictures I'm talking about: That woman holding that really ugly baby, the woman with tattoos all over her arms (those are fake, by the way. NO ONE would put Yahoo and Facebook tattoos on their arms), and that dweeb with the glasses and long nose. Whenever I log in and these people come onto my screen, I want to vomit! Will someone tell me how to get them off the Yahoo Mail page?

A. My picture changes to a Chevy SUV and of course the tattoed woman. Click Keep me signed in for 2 weeks and you won't have to look at them so often. We can't get rid of it, it's Yahoo's programming. If you sign in every 2 weeks then all you have to do in enter your password and you are in.

What do men think of women with tattoos?

Q. I am 40 and single. My tattoos are in places where they are concealed & are mostly religious in nature. I just don't understand why its such a thing.

A. This is personal preference. Some tattoos are quite beautiful but I think tattoos in general belong in the category of "less is more." Some people disagree and have large, bold, blatant and inappropriate tattoos that I don't consider attractive. I also find that too many tattoos are boring in design, careless in execution and ultimately lackluster in appearance due to aging (both of the person and the tattoos).

Is a cloud design tattoo considered feminine?
Q. I currently have a sleeve started with 50 randomly placed stars on my right arm. The original filler of the Liberty Bell, Statue of Liberty torch, and "Don't Tread on Me" shield and sword didn't quite fit in without the important features being blocked by stars. Plan B would be clouds as a filler; are cloud design mostly for women, men, or both?

A. Cloud tattoo's are more common for women, but there are enough men who have a cloud tattoo on them, mostly combined with something.

The big difference is that when a man gets a tattoo from a cloud, he wants it to be more rough (fatter lines, heavier shadows, those kind of things)
