I need a tattoo cover up help!?

Q. I have a tattoo on my side and after pregnancy it got completely messed up with some stretch marks so I wanna cover up the tattoo and the stretch marks as well. I'm a new mom (single) so I want something to represent the love of a mother to her son or independent and strong woman.

A. Same thing happened to me. I just plan to get mine touched up. Can't cover up all the stretch marks either.

How to cover up a tattoo?
Q. I got my fist tattoo three weeks ago for my 17th birthday and I need to find a way to cover it. Reason is because I have a family reunion next weekend and I have this aunt who is pretty much a bitch and is a very judgmental and strict woman. She hates tattoos, piercings, and all that stuff so I really don't want her to bitch to me the whole night. It's really a big tattoo it's actually two sentences going from just the center of my upper back a little under my neck and it goes out to my right shoulder. I'm wearing a spaghetti strap and my hair is short so it will be seen. I tried using foundation but I have light tan skin and it doesn't cover very well. Is there some kind of body paint I can use or just something that won't fade? If not, best I can do is wear a shawl. :p
Ah sorry I meant it isn't a really big tattoo it's just a little long, not big.
It's a dress I'm wearing not a shirt. But if there is really nothing, I'll just wear a nice cardigan over it.

A. Honestly, I'd just tell the little bitch to shove it, but that clearly isn't your intention here.

There's a special concealer called "Dermablend" that's made primarily for concealing tattoos. It's a bit expensive, but if you're using it strictly for family gatherings, that shouldn't be a problem.

Good luck!

Janis Joplin Wrist Tattoo?

Q. I would like to get the same wrist tattoo that Janis Joplin had in the same place in her honor. I am new to getting tattoos and because of the tattoo being maybe near/on the bone in your wrist i have heard that i could be painful. If someone could tell me if it was true or not and how much it would hurt it would help me no what to expect when i get it.
Thank You
I understand it will hurt i just want to no how much more it would hurt than other places on my body

A. Your wrist will hurt. How much is based on your individual pain tolerance.

Anywhere that you get a tattoo that has a high concentration of nerve endings the more painful it will be. Also, being a women I have heard that the week prior to your period your pain tolerance is heightened. I can't confirm or deny that since I am a guy. It is just what I have heard.

Bottom line is it painful? Yea it is. Is the pain going to kill you... No...

I hope that helps
Jared

Best place for a tattoo, for a woman over 35 yrs., Inside of left wrist or Back of neck??
Q. I am planning to get a nice, rather discreet tatoo, but can't decide if I will do it on the back of the neck or my left wrist.
And I am not too young.
Any ideas?

A. This depends on if, when you dress up, if you do, that it, you like to put your hair up. That being so, then it would depend if it were the type of social function where you wouldn't mind showing a tattoo. The inside of the wrist is discreet and can be covered up with a bracelet or watch. The social mores and fores are changing of course, and I predict that when we are in our eighties, that tattoos will have more social acceptance. They have come a long way in my time. I got my first when I was 15 on my leg, back when only sailors, bikers and punks had tattoos. This aside, keep in mind that a tattoo, while a statment of who you are, is also a fashion statement and sometimes it's a statement you'd rather not make. At Aunt Becki's funeral for example. However, it's all you, so do what you think is best. I shan't talk about the pain or the permance, as we are all big boys and girls and surely know about such stuff.

Is tattoo unholy for muslim?
Q. i want to know

A. The standard answer is that tattoos are haram (for instance, http://islamqa.info/en/ref/20283/tattoo ).

But the reality is that there are a number of devoutly Muslim ethnic/cultural groups for whom tattoos are traditional: for instance, the Bedouins, Berbers, and Maʻdn (aka Marsh Arabs). These are not Western-style tattoos, but simple geometrical designs as talismans or to signify marital status and such like; and it's mostly women who have them.

Check out the 2007 book Encyclopedia of Body Adornment: http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=s0122BsqrZwC&pg=PA163&dq=%22many+muslim+countries+still+have+traditional+tribal%22&hl=en&sa=X&ei=KIfoT668MtGb1AWQ46SDCQ&ved=0CDgQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=%22many%20muslim%20countries%20still%20have%20traditional%20tribal%22&f=false

Women Tattoo's and the new "progressive" youth...?

Q. I have seen a lot of woman with Tattoo's over the past several years...

When looking at the Mona Lisa...does it need modification?

When looking closely at the wings of a butterfly, does it need modification?

When I see a beautiful woman with a Tattoo, I think, what a gimmick! You are what you are, and don't need to cheapen yourself!

A. Your opinion, bub.

I really admire nice tattoos (as opposed to trashy/badly done skin art). Decorating your body is a tradition as old as human life. It can enhance your looks, mark passages in your life, show off a subculture affiliation, or just make you smile.

If you don't like tattoos, that's fine, no one's insisting you need to get one. Every time you sneer and look down at a woman with some ink, someone like me will be there to smile and give her the thumbs up.

butterfly tattoo on girls?
Q. What does the butterfly tattoo symbalize?

A. Butterfly tattoos are one of the more common tattoos among women. Butterflies can represent something pretty or something more meaningful.
Butterflies can symbolize various things depending on which culture you look at it.
In the Japanese culture, butterflies are seen as the personification of one's soul, whether it be living, dying, or dead. It is, also, thought that if a butterfly enters your guestroom and sits behind the bamboo screen, a person whom you love is coming to see you. But, at the same time, butterflies in large numbers are bad omens.
In the Russian culture, butterflies can represent a woman or grandmother.
In Greek, butterfly means 'soul.'
In China, 2 butterflies flying together is a symbol of love.

Is it OK to ask a woman about a tattoo on her foot?

Q. or compliment her if her feet look pretty? would you find it creepy if a stranger complimented your feet or asked about your tattoo?

A. I have a tattoo on my left shoulder and I like when people compliment me on it. I don't have one on my feet but if I did I would love to hear compliments about it as well.

If someone told me I had pretty feet I would thank them and feel better about my feet. I don't see anything creepy unless you are drooling and panting why you're saying it.

A. Once again...

Army Changes Tattoo Policy

The Army has revised its policy on tattoos in an effort to bolster recruitment of highly-qualified individuals who might otherwise have been excluded from joining.

Tattoos are now permitted on the hands and back of the neck if they are not extremist, indecent, sexist or racist. Army Regulation 670-1, which was modified via a message released Jan. 25, also now specifies: Any tattoo or brand anywhere on the head or face is prohibited except for permanent make-up.

For women, allowable make-up would be permanent eye-liner, eyebrows and makeup applied to fill in lips, officials said. They said permanent make-up should be conservative and complement the uniform and complexion in both style and color and will not be trendy.

The change was made because Army officials realized the number of potential recruits bearing skin art had grown enormously over the years.

About 30 percent of Americans between the ages of 25 and 34 have tattoos, according to a Scripps Howard News Service and Ohio University survey. For those under age 25, the number is about 28 percent. In all, the post-baby-boom generations are more than three times as likely as boomers to have tattoos.

As a result of tattoo attitude changes, Army Regulation 670-1, chapter 1-8E (1) has been modified via an ALARACT 017/2006 message.

Additionally, paragraph 1-8B (1) (A) was revised to state: Tattoos that are not extremist, indecent, sexist or racist are allowed on the hands and neck. Initial entry determinations will be made according to current guidance.

The Army has never allowed indecent tattoos on any part of the body, G1 officials pointed out.

The new policy allows recruits and all Soldiers to sport tattoos on the neck behind an imaginary line straight down and back of the jawbone, provided the tattoos dont violate good taste.

The only tattoos acceptable on the neck are those on the back of the neck, said Hank Minitrez, Army G-1 Human Resources Policy spokesman. The back of the neck is defined as being just under the ear lobe and across the back of the head. Throat tattoos on that portion of the neck considered the front, the ear lobe forward) are prohibited.

Soldiers who are considering putting tattoos on their hands and necks, should consider asking their chain of command prior to being inked.

While the Army places trust in the integrity of its Soldiers and leaders, if a Soldier has a questionable case regarding tattoos, he or she should seek the advice of the local commander through the chain of command, added Minitrez.

Should a Soldier not seek advice and have tattoos applied that arent in keeping with AR-670, the command will counsel the Soldier on medical options, but may not order the Soldier to have the tattoos removed. However, if a Soldier opts not to take the medical option at Army expense, the Soldier may be discharged from service.

The U.S. Coast Guard has a limitation on the size of a tattoo in percentages of a given area that will not exceed 25 percent of the space between wrist and elbow, knee and ankle, but it does not allow tattoos on the hands or neck.

The Armys new policy, however, does not mean Soldiers should rush out and have the backs of their necks or their hands entirely covered in decorative art, Minitrez said.

The Army does not have a percentage policy for tattoos, Minitrez said. As long as tattoos do not distract from good military order and discipline and are not extremist, racist, sexist or indecent theyre permitted.

If a Soldiers current command has no issue with his/her tattoos, the Soldier should have personnel files so notated that the Soldier is in line with AR-670, officials said. Though not mandatory, having the notation entered serves as back-up documentation at a follow-on command which might feel the Soldiers tattoos dont meet Army regulations.

Once you're in, it's a different story...

I met a gentleman back in the mid-90's who was a Sniper in the 82nd Airborne. He had gotten his spotter's name, who was killed in Panama, tattooed in large, black, gothic letters starting just below his right ear and down across his neck to his heart. Of course it was a violation, but who the heck was going to tell him?

The FDLS why do the women all?

Q. Wear that same dress and hairstyle? and has anyone else notice I keep seeing the mothers on the news but Never the husbands or fathers?

Lastly I try not to be a judgemental person but did anyone else notice how the women have alot of the same features and looks they look very related?

And they still haven't found the young girl that made the initial call!

A. All members of the church are required to abide by a strict dress code. In general, women are forbidden to cut their hair or to wear makeup, trousers or any skirt above the knees. Men are usually seen wearing plain clothing, usually a collared shirt and trousers. Men and women do not have any tattoos or body piercings. Women and girls usually wear solid-color homemade long-sleeved dresses, between ankle and mid-calf, and long stockings, keeping their hair coiffed.

Critics of this lifestyle say that its practice inevitably leads to bride shortages and likely to child marriages, incest, and child abuse.

The Colorado City/Hildale area has the world's highest incidence of fumarase deficiency,an extremely rare genetic condition which causes severe mental retardation. Geneticists attribute this to the prevalence of cousin marriage between descendants of two of the town's founders, Joseph Smith Jessup and John Yeates Barlow; one local historian reports that 7580 percent of the double-communities' roughly 10,000 inhabitants are descended from one or both of these men.

Fumarase deficiency (or fumaric aciduria) is an enzyme irregularity.

It causes encephalopathy, severe mental retardation, unusual facial features, brain malformation, and epileptic seizures due to an abnormally low amount of fumarase in cells.

Fumarase deficiency is extremely rare. Until roughly 18 years ago scientists knew of only thirteen cases worldwide . However, recently twenty additional cases have been documented in the Arizona/Utah border towns of Colorado City, Arizona, and Hildale, Utah. These two towns constitute a closed and controlled community, and were settled in the 1930s by the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which is a breakaway sect completely unaffiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As such, many of the surrounding communities refer to this disease as "Polygamist's Down's"

Dr. Theodore Tarby, a pediatric Neurologist who has treated some of the sect's affected residents has been quoted as estimating the IQ of these patients as around 25. Tarby was treating a child with undetermined developmental difficulties when he learned there was a sibling with what was being described as Cerbral palsy. Upon examining the other child, he sent off urine samples for definitive testing only to learn that his patients had a disorder so rare that only 13 other current cases were known. Assuming these numbers are correct, the new cases Tarby uncovered now account for approximately 60.6% of all known cases of Fumarase deficiency.

The fumarase deficiency gene has become very common in this community, due to the practice of Endogamy. It is believed that Joseph Smith Jessop, one of the founders of the communities, and his first wife carried the gene. According to the Phoenix New Times, the stage was set for the or the appearance of the rare disease when their 12th child, Martha Jessop, married her second cousin, John Yeates Barlow, in 1923. The same article states that some 20 cases have now been documented and that further intermarriage between the Jessop and Barlow families will surely result in more afflicted children. There is the possibility of perhaps hundreds of new cases in future generations if preventative measures are not adopted by the group members who are suspected carriers of the gene.[13] More alarming still is the recent development of a satellite community in Eldorado, Texas, where a temple has been built by FLDS Church members. This new community is populated with many members of these two extended families who can be presumed to be potential carriers of the recessive gene.

Q. My first is on my foot. I'm not sure where I would want my second to be. The most important thing is that I need it to be easily covered when wearing office attire. I would like to be able to see it without looking in a mirror, but I might be okay with it on my back/shoulder... I'm not entirely sure.

I'm still trying get the general idea of the tattoo I want- nothing is set in stone yet and I'll be considering exactly what I want and where I want it for probably a year before I actually get it done. I'm looking into designs including The Princess Bride and I like the idea of a buttercup and a black mask or a buttercup and a sword, possibly with "as you wish" added in.
Naomi... in what world is a wrist tattoo easily covered in office attire? You should read the entire question before you answer.
Ok, next time I'll specify that I have no desire to have my arms covered down to my hands every day at work for the rest of my life. Sorry if that can't be considered common sense that a female might actually want to wear 3/4 length sleeves or shorter.
Ashley-
I didn't ask advice on how to change my entire wardrobe so I could get a wrist tattoo. I'm glad yours works for you, but I'm not a jewelry person at all and I'm not willing to buy jewelry just to cover up a tattoo, nor am I willing to always wear a garment to cover all the way down to my hands.

A. Hey now, I have wrist tattoos and I work in an office. Today they are covered up with a blazer because it's cold out. Yesterday they were covered up in some awesome bangles that I got loads of compliments on. When the weather gets even colder, they will be covered up in various office appropriate sweaters. It's NOT that difficult to cover up a wrist tattoo.

That said, other places to get it include literally anywhere on your torso, or anywhere on your legs above your knees.

I am looking for a book with a woman's tattooed back on the cover?

Q. It could be a man, but the book is syfy and its all white. I think it is a young adult book I just can not find the title.
no not that book but thank you for trying. If this helps it is in the future and takes place partially in hell and this girl paints like hundreds of butterflys on the celing.
no sorry not that one either.

A. 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larrsson has a cover with a woman's tattooed back on it, but it's not sci-fi or young adult, it's a crime thriller aimed at adults.

Where Should A Women Get A Tattoo?
Q.

A. A woman should get a tattoo anywhere on her body that she feels comfortable having it show (or not show). Keep in mind the FUTURE. If you put a tattoo in a very visible place (especially if it's a large tattoo), and you end up having to change job fields later in life, you will have to deal with always having to wear a particular type of clothing to cover it up if tattoos aren't acceptable for viewing at your future job.

Also keep in mind that you should only get a tattoo that has a particular or special meaning to you. nothing says 'stupid and trashy' as someone that gets a tattoo just to show off or try and be cool!

Tatts on women????....?
Q. I think {my opinion} that tattoos really are more accepted in todays society. You'r not judged so harshly for that anymore. Ok...so I recently read an ignorant response { also my opinion lol} about women and tatts. This man said women with tatts are typically non-educated and trashy!!....Now...I'm not sure what rock he has been hide'n under but....it is 2012. So I was just wondering how other people felt about women n tatts.....I do believe there is.a way to make tatts ghetto when you start drawing all over your face n' stuff...but I have a butterfly on my right shoulder blade..right foot is covered with stars...and lol.. I have a holes too..monroe, nose...and one more...anyways. Let me know how u guys feel....am I trashy and non-educated...lol =)...??

A. My daughter has a full back piece tattoo, a tattoo on her ankle, and one on her calf. She is what I would call medium pierced. Lots of facial/ear piercings and has gauged her ears.

She is well educated and definitely not trashy.

Tattoos/piercings do not make a person trashy, it's the attitude behind them that does.

Keep in mind there are tons of people who aren't tattooed/pierced that are uneducated and trashy.

Good luck...wear your ink proudly!

Tattoos on women are hot?

Q. How come I'm the only one who thinks this? It's not trashy it's expressive and spices up their body.

A. I really like the natural look. I love clear skin, and I generally would even prefer girls who didn't ware any make up! However there is still that part of me that sees an girl with ink and thinks DAIIIMMNNN!!!! Seriously, girls with tattoos are SUPER hot! <3

Why are women with tattoos considered "hot"?
Q.

A. You\'re question assumes all men/women find tattooed women hot. This is wrong.

They are only considered "hot" by some people.

It's usually the classless, shady, unambitious men who find tattooed women hot.
Elegant, classy, and suave men still prefer a decent, clean cut, and civilized woman who doesn't need body modifcations to be beautiful.

Thigh tattoo opinions?

Q. So I've been REALLY wanting a tattoo for a while now and I'm pretty serious about it. I have a huge list of ideas, but there are a few things that are stopping me. The first is money, but that's the last thing I'd deal with. Next is placement. I've always wanted small tattoos, kind of minimalistic on my arms and maybe shoulders/back, but lately I've been really in love with the idea of a tattoo on the top of my thigh, but kind of more towards the outside of my thigh. Is this a good location? I'd use this for a bigger piece, like an Alphonse Mucha piece, or something that I design myself, but my question is, is it a tasteful location? I'm not necessarily concerned about what strangers think, but I AM worried about what my dad will think (he's not a huge fan of the idea of tattoos). I figured I could easily hide it under a lot of pairs of pants, but by the time summer comes, I'd be showing it off to the world. When I show it off with shorts, will it look weird? Just that one piece? Also, is it generally less painful to get a tattoo in this location? Because that's something else I'm concerned about. I have never had a tattoo so I'm thinking this might not necessarily be the best first tattoo.... Your opinions?
Oh and if you happen to live in Minnesota, do you happen to know of anyone who would be a great artist for an Alphonse Mucha tattoo? Or I guess do you know of just a great tattoo artist in general?

A. Upper right thigh for a woman is a great spot in my opinion, it's a place where you can hide it easily if needed, and when you want it to be it's sexy. And it's a great spot for bigger pieces. On the plus side it's one of the less painful places. As long as it's the outer thigh. And not on the hip. But I would recommend it. (: sounds like a great idea

Tattoo on Thigh?????????Your thoughts?????
Q. Hello as you can tell I am considering a tattoo on my thigh. I am just wondering about the tattoos location since I am getting ready to work in a professional setting. I am worried about being plus sized and having a tattoo there (if I get fatter or something), as well as is it considered tacky IF the artist does a good job. I know I want the design its the placement I am thinking on...

(I have 7 others in locations that are hidden so its not like I am a newbie at this.)

A. It depends on the design and how it will fit that are but that's a cool spot, it can be hidden since your probably not going to be wearing mini skirts at your work place (no woman should in a profesional environment). 5-10 pounds doesn't change a tattoo all that much. 50-100 pounds or more now that can change a tattoo. If any thing the tattoo should give you some motivation to not get bigger. If the artist does a good job then it shouldn't look tacky.

Men, If a woman has a tattoo on her leg would you still consider her to have nice/sexy legs?

Q. I don't mean anything graphic or disgusting, but rather a design that fits her personality and artistic career. Thanks!
I just wanted some opinions since lower leg tattoos are not as popular on girls as on arms and a lot of people say it looks to manly, but I chose that location so it can easily be covered for work and be more subtle.

A. Sexy legs are sexy legs, a tattoo has nothing to do with that.

Are Henna tattoos more for females or can men have them as well?
Q. I been seeing a lot of women with henna tattoo's but haven't seen men with them, I like how they look & want to design my own for before I do I just wanted to know if they are more directed towards women or can men also have them?

A. Well firstly Henna or mehendi is basically used for women (Hindu brides- that's how they came about) and well of recent women just started wearing them. Grooms are also known to wear it but that is just from India so in the west, i don't think men really wear it.

Are Japanese women okay with tattoos?

Q. I have Chinese art covering my back and arms, and they can easily be mistaken for yakuza tattoos. I've heard that bathhouses normally ban people with tattoos, and that tattoos are frowned upon in Japan. My friend recently introduced me to this half-Japanese girl who grew up in Japan. We've been getting along well, except she doesn't know about my tattoos yet. Do you think it'll throw her off?

A. Call it " iffy "...Tattoos in Japan are seen a being connected with the Yakuza.
I'd say yes, there's a good chance they may throw her off. I'd just take it one day at a time. Don't rush things. Let her know you for the person you are first.
You could be sneaky and somehow get the subject of tattoos into a talk with her. Like if you watch a movie together and some guy has tats in it. Or be bold and expose your arms. You don't want to wait till you fall for her, or she for you, if there's even a chance for that.
Good luck !

Tattoo help please and thank you?

Q. I just turned 17 and I live in New York State, and you need to be 18 to get a tattoo. My boyfriend wants to get me a tattoo for Valentines day and the guy who does his said he would do mine. I want one so bad, but I know my mom would say no probably, so I'm thinking about just going and getting it done, and then eventually telling her. Yes I've thought a lot about it and I know they're permanent. I know I won't regret it. What should I do? Should I tell her before I get it done? Or get it done and then tell her..

This is the one I want..Any advice and how much will it hurt on a scale of 1-10? I've read your ribs hurt the most, but this tattoo fits me perfectly and I love it :) Thanks

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l214/cheeseloverxoxo/tatto.jpg

A. Why would you want this tattoo artist to risk being sued or no longer having a job just so you can illegally get a tattoo? That seems extremely immature. If you are so dead set certain you will "not regret it" then waiting you're 18 should be no challenge at all. It's a life time that you'll have it for. Act like an adult and wait until you are legally old enough and don't disrespect the woman that gave you life by hiding something from her. If you know it's going to hurt her, why not just wait?? It's forever. A few months won't kill you.

where to find a cheap tattoo kit?
Q. My brother is doing an apprenticeship with this tattoo guy and i want to surprise him for Christmas with a tattoo kit but i am on a budget because of all the stuff i have to buy but i would like a reasonable one. Please let me know thanks.

A. if he is active in an apprenticeship do not buy him a kit. he will most likely receive equipment from the artist. the machines and equipment in these so called professional kits are cheap for a reason. there is only one "kit" i have ever run across that i would consider suggesting and that is from new york tattoo. they have a pretty descent kit for a bit under 500.00. again, the rest of them are cheap for a reason. the machines are not any good and built with cheap materials. good machines are built by artists that know what they are doing and the best materials are. they use there time, there passion for the art and there knowledge in order to create a good machine.

here is a link to a kit, if i had to, would recommend.
http://www.newyorktattoo.com/intermediate_tattoo_kit_1944_prd1.htm

but again, i strongly suggest you not getting him a kit. just give him the money you would have spent on a kit. when he gets to the point in his apprenticeship when he actually begins to do some work he will use the artists equipment. when he begins to do his own stuff he will by then have a preference when it comes to the equipment he likes. a tattoo artist and the equipment he prefers is worst than a woman and her shoes...LOL

I need tattoo sleeve ideas for a guy?

Q. Ok so I don't plan on getting a tattoo for a long time but I wanted to get some help. I need tattoo themes for a guys sleeve, I don't mean types of tattooing (old school, new school, traditional... Etc..) I mean themes so that the sleeve goes together and isn't a collage of a bunch of things. Like I know there is religious sleeves and other themes out there, so if someone could name different themes of mens sleeve tattoos that would be great..

A. Full arm tattoos were a way to designate a member of this organization, rank, and how many stripes each had earned. No matter men or women, sleeve tattoos are very popular. If you want to know more about sleeve tattoos, you can read this article: http://blog.getbetterlife.com/sleeve-tattoo-ideas

Any 'older' women out there with Sleeve Tattoos?
Q. I'm 21 and already have many large tattoos but all in places that can be covered. I absolutely love them all and don't think I'll ever regret them as I'll always be able to hide them when I'm older.

I have been interested in getting a 3/4 sleeve for over a year now and love them. I get jealous when I see people with them!

My parents are dead against tattoo's and all my friends think it's a really bad idea but I'm not too bothered about their opinion as they were against the others that I got and love!

I don't currently have a partner and have also decided that if it were to put someone off they're obviously not for me.

My main concern is about how it's going to look when I get older. Ive never seen sleeves on an older woman (I'm thinking 40 +). I'm worried about how it will look in my wedding dress, what my kids will think of it (if they'll be ashamed to be with an inked mum) and generally how it will look on older skin.

I'd really appreciate some feedback from ladies who fit this criteria and if you have any regrets?

Also has it ever effected any job applications?

men's comments welcome also.

Thanks.
I would be most greatful for any photos of how your ink looks after the years.

A. I'm 40 & I have a 3/4 sleeve on the right and a half sleeve on the left. I am an attorney & manage the firm I work for. None of my clients know I have tattoos and not many of my coworkers know either. I wear a long sleeved suit to work. It's just what you do - it's not professional to wear short sleeves. Any job interview you go on you would be dressed professionally and they probably wouldn't know. After you get hired you can ask their policy on whether you can show tattoos at work.

I love my tattoos and thought I looked beautiful on my wedding day, but I think I have beautiful feminine tattoos. It took me years to decide on my sleeves and I absolutely love them - it's not like I picked art off a tattoo shop wall or copied someone else's idea, both of mine are pretty original. I am not having kids, but I would think they would think you were a pretty cool mom. I really don't care what anyone thinks of me or my tattoos. When you're in your 30s you generally have a ton more confidence than you do in your 20s. If you're that worried, you can always wear long sleeves. I have a lot of thin t-shirts that I can wear even in warm weather if I don't want my tattoos to show. I got my tattoos for ME and only for me, so I don't show them more than I show them. I just love having them.

I think you're doing a really smart thing by really thinking this through, so I think if you do decide to do it, you won't have any regrets. Good luck with your decision.
