Eyelid tattoo - is it completely insane?

Q. Other than the obvious (needle in the eye), what are the risks of getting a tattoo on the eyelid?

(For a character in a story, by the way. Myself, I'm scared of needles in the first place, so, yeah.)
@Boyba Power!: I disagree with the insecurity thing, but thank you for your answer about the safety.

A. I do a lot of cosmetic tattooing and do eyeliner tattooing all the time so graphic work on the eyelid is no big deal for those artists who know how to do it. The lid is very thin and swells very quickly so you have to get in and out. They will be sore and puffy and you will need to ice them down. They will be even puffier in the morning so you should sleep elevated since this is a LOT of lid work, not just an eyeliner tattoo. There is always a risk of infection. With a location like this, you have to be incredibly sure your artist is first rate and the studio is immaculate - be sure they take regular bloodborne pathogens classes and know how to work clean.

Expect touch ups there as well. I am personally not a fan of graphic work on the lids because to me, it distracts/detracts from the eyes and I am very much into enhancing eyes...both women and men. It is also hard to have conversations with people who have that because of the distraction of the tattooing, as with other facial tattooing. Unless you are very heavily modified, I would recommend this is thought through very well.

Do females like tattoos?
Q. if so how much? the size, and where
AND NO I AM NOT TRYING TO ATTRACT OR IMPRESS WOMEN, my tattoos at the moment are religious and were im from, i just asked because i wanted an opinion from women point of view on tattoos.

A. Everyone's different. Some women like ink on men, but it depends on the man, of course, and if there's a mutual attraction in the first place. My girl is a tattoo artist, as well, and she only has three small tattoos, where she can cover them if she wants. I have ninety-plus hours of ink, and she loves em on me. But it's a kind of strange thing, for most people. Usually one partner likes ink, while the other wears it. I've seen many couples like this. Usually one has a lot of work, the other none at all. That seems to be the case, male or female. And it's important to be in shape. But everyones different on opinions. Men that have a lot of experience with women, tend to like ink on women, more so than if not. Women, tend to like ink on men more so, but it's very important what kind. Shoddy work takes away from, eye poppin' skin art adds to. That goes for both genders. Take care.

what the most popular tattoo area?

Q. what area tattoo do u have? i have one in my back lower where near my butt

A. For women it would be the lower back. For men, it would be the shoulder or bicep area. I have a tattoo on my left shoulder, right bicep, left chest muscle, and stomach.

Whats the Equivalent feeling to a tattoo near your hip bone/lower stomach?
Q. If you had to describe the feeling of getting a tattoo on your hip/lower stomach what would you compare it to? Im getting a tattoo on my hip tommorow (its booked and everything) and i was wondering what it feels like?? By the way this is my first tattoo.
and do you have any suggestions to help me with the pain?
thanks so much!

A. I recently got a tattoo on my hip bone and lower stomach. Different spots felt pretty different.

When he was right on my bone it really hurt pretty bad. The pain stops every time he pick up the needle, so that helps, but it's a burning/scratching sensation. I've never been stung by a bee, but I thought is was kinda like getting scratched by a cat. It only hurts a little at first, but the pain kinda builds up the longer the artist goes without stopping.

Right next to my hip bone felt kinda strange, like it was hitting a nerve or something. I can't even describe the sensation, but it was weird more than painful.

The rest of my stomach was not so bad. I couldn't really tell where he was unless I looked, and sometimes it felt like he was in a different spot than he was, which was weird. If I flexed my abs it hurt a lot more than when I relaxed and remembered to breathe. After my hip bone, my endorphins had kicked in and it still felt like scratching, but pleasant.

Down really low on my stomach felt really good haha, which was a bit embarrassing

Time flies by when you get tattooed. My artist said that women typically handle stomach tattoos much better than men. Talk to the artist or a friend to distract yourself, relax and breathe. It hurts, but it really isn't that horrible. You will probably enjoy the experience.

what do you think of woman with tattoos?sleeves and kneck tattoos?

so in short girl with tattoo's = Pretty

POLL: What do you think of tattoos?
Q. Guys: On women? On yourself?
Girls: On guys? On yourself?

I like meaningful tattoos on guys and I really want to get a small tattoo when I'm older. But I mean cute ones, not skulls and bones and weird crap.

A. Tattoos are pieces of art to express someone, they're awesome.

Tattoos? ppl?

Q. ok! what do you think about ppl with tats? i thnk there ok to have but i wouldnt get ine! simply cause wehn you get older 50-70 you get rinkles and look gay with them! ok what do you thnk about girls with huge ones on the arms? do u find it cute or do you think it looks gross?

A. Tattoos on women are the most disgusting thing ever.
People should be original in this day and age and NOT get a tattoo.

Women with tattoo's ...Yes or No?
Q. Women with full body tattoo's look so trashy to me...all over their neck, cartoon characters on their azz. Have women just lost their minds about what is really beautiful/attractive? Kat Von D looks like a mortician. WTF is going on with tattoo's?!?

A. Only 2 dollar whores get tattoos. There is nothing worse then seeing a 50+ something woman with saggy breast and a faded tattoo smoking a generic cigarette.

what is a good font for tattoos?

Q. i want to get a tattoo on the side of my foot saying, "live by faith not by sight" but im not sure what a good font would be for it. i want it kind of small..
thank you!

A. http://www.tattoodesign.com/tattoo_lettering_designer/tattoo_fonts/feminine_women_girls/page_1.php

you can write what you want to get and play around till you find something you like.

Tattoo font - Which font is that?
Q. Hi,
I'm searching for a font that looks exactly like that:
http://cdnimg.visualizeus.com/thumbs/4f/52/random,tatoo,tattoo,women,tatoos,cute,feets-4f52f89b7310d850b08b986678100f42_h.jpg

(or at least a bit like that: http://heidirohrdesign.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/tattoo.jpg )

I was searching on daFont for similar fonts, but couldn't find a nice one. I want it for a small tattoo and I don't like those "typical" tattoo fonts with too many big flourishes...
Can you help me?
Are there other websites I could search for the font?

A. actually most tattoo artist that are any good can free hand the words how you want them vs using a font which anyone can use. I believe it is best to get freehand vs basic font so that your tattoo will be an original work of art vs walking around with font that someone else has already... also ask for your layout afterwords so only you will have it.

Do you think that painted on or tattooed eyebrows look good or ugly?

Q.

A. i guarantee that 100% of the women and men bashing people with tattooed eyebrows knows a lot of people who have them done and dont know it!!!!!

it all depends on how it is done....i myself have my eyebrows tattooed on and i LOVE them.....i am 1/2 italian and 1/2 filipina and have VERY fine eyebrows (from a distance you cant even tell i have any) i got mine done almost 2 years ago, i did them with the hair still on there and shaped to the natural shape of my brow.....no one can EVER tell that i have had the done and ask me all the time where i get them waxed because they are a perfect shape!!!!

the one thing i do think is a bit on the ridiculous side is the girls that use a color way too dark to draw their brows on...they dont get a proper shape, or make they way too long, that is what you can call "ugly" or "hideous"

but please dont jump to conclusions and think that everyone that has permanent make up has over exaggerated brows!!!

I heard that Sunni say a women that plucks her eyebrows is cursed by the angels? Can you show me the hadith?
Q. I am sure someone will post it. Lets wait and see.
FaRaZ KhUwAjA Thank you, for having guts.
So if these Muslim women are cursed for such petty acts, how about someone that Kills the Prophet's (s) grandson and plunders Madina?

This was brought to you by Ali M
Nila the Qur'an does not mention this, please give me the verse if that is true?

A. sahih muslim.Chapter 25: IT IS FORBIDDEN TO ADD FALSE HAIR TO ONE'S HEAD, OR TO PLUCK THE EYEBROW OR TO SEPARATE THE TEETH

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book 024, Number 5295:
Asma', daughter of Abu Bakr, reported that a woman came to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) and said: I have a daughter who has been newly wedded. She had an attack of smallpox and thus her hair had fallen; should I add false hair to her head? Thereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Allah has cursed the woman who adds some false hair and the woman who asks for it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book 024, Number 5296:
This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Shu'ba with a slight variation of wording.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book 024, Number 5297:
Asma', daughter of Abu Bakr, reported that a woman came to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) and said: I have married my daughter (whose) hair of head have fallen. Her spouse likes them (the long hair). Allah's Messenger (may add false hair to her head? He forbade her to do this.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book 024, Number 5298:
A'isha reported that a girl of the Ansar who had fallen ill and had lost the hair was married. They (her relatives) thought of adding false hair (to her head). so they asked Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) about it, whereupon he cursed the woman who adds false hair and the woman who asks for it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book 024, Number 5299:
A'isha reported that a woman from the Ansar married her daughter who had lost her hair because of illness. She came to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) and said: Her husband wants that false hair should be aaded to her head. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: The woman who adds false hair has been cursed. This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Nafi' with the same chain of transmitters but with a slight variation of wording.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book 024, Number 5300:
Ibn Umar reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) cursing the woman who added false hair and the woman who asked for tattoos. This hadith has been reported on the authority of Abdullah through another chain of transmitters.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book 024, Number 5301:
'Abdullah reported that Allah had cursed those women who tattooed and who have themselves tattooed, those who pluck hair from their faces and those who make spaces between their teeth for beautification changing what God has created. This news reached a woman of the tribe of Asad who was called Umm Ya'qub and she used to recite the Holy Qur'an. She came to him and said: What is this news that has reached me from you that you curse those women who tattooed and those women who have themselves tattooed, the women who pluck hair from their faces and who make spaces between their teeth for beautification changing what God has created? Thereupon 'Abdullah said: Should I not curse one upon whom Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) has invoked curse and that is in the Book also. Thereupon that woman said: I read the Qur'an from cover to cover, but I did not find that in it. whereupon he said: If you had read (thoroughly) you would have definitely found this in that (as) Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, has said:" What Allah's Messenger brings for you accept that. and what he has forbidden you. refrain from that." That woman said: I find this thing in your wife even now. Thereupon he said: Go and see her. She reported: I went to the wife of 'Abdullah but found nothing of this sort in her. She came back to him and said: I have not seen anything. whereupon he said: Had there been anything like it in her, I would have never slept with her in the bed.

What does everyone think of tattoos on the side of the arm?

Q. I have been wanting a tattoo similar to Sahar from the Real World New Orelans and Elina from ANTM cycle 11. I think it looks delicate and feminine, but I don't know if it will always look good. What do you think?

A. I think their tattoos are really good and they will always look good. But I would like to recommend you some other tattoo designs because tattoo designs must be unique, you don't need to copy their tattoo. If you are looking for some feminine & delicate tattoo designs then in my view butterfly and fairy look good on arms. Let's see on this girl having a wonderful tattoos of butterfly on her arm. we think Both women and butterflies have wonderful, curvy forms. They both have delicate, soft texture and are very pleasing to the eye. Tattoo of butterflies can be any size is also important.

Where would a tattoo of roman numerals look good on a woman?
Q. I'm considering in the [near] future getting a tattoo done of roman numerals. Yes, these numbers mean something important to me. I'm not sure exactly where to get them. I've been tossing around either on my rib cage or on my back right/left shoulder blade.

Where do you think a roman numeral tattoo would look good on a woman? I'm up for any suggestions.

A. Well, that depends on the woman, the numerals, and their overall artistic design, really. Also, placement would be key. The ribcage area actually sounds lovely, if you're looking for a larger piece. No doubt it will be painful, but tattoos will be uncomfortable to get, no matter where you get them...you might as well get one where you really want it -- and, wouldn't mind seeing there permanently. Some of the most beautiful tattoos I've ever seen have been along someone's side, across their ribs.

If you'd like a smaller piece, I like the inside of the wrist and the lowest base of the neck, right above the center of the shoulder blades.

These pictures are about where I want my tattoo (just in case you need to know), but these are not the ones I want. Thanks again and Happy Holidays! :)
Thank you to everyone who answered you all were extremely helpful!!!!!!! :)

A. Smudge? Tattoos anywhere on the body lose their sharpness, especially very small tattoos. Detail will be lost. For instance, good tattoo artists won't do small text because it will run together into a blurb. you can't help that, it's your body's natural aging process. Otherwise, the tattoo can 'blow out' where the lines can look like they've strayed from the original design. Usually a result of a very heavy handed artist.
A small tattoo of that size, probably an hour, your feet do hurt because of the bones and nerves in that area. Not a lot of skin and fat = pain. Typical healing time is about three weeks (for the initial process, complete healing time can be up to two months on a foot, which is why swimming and sunning are on the no no list for that long, then wearing sunscreen, while the top layer of skin regrows after peeling), though foot tattoos tend to hurt for longer during the healing process because the artist is putting an open wound on you, you don't realize how often you use a limb until you have something painful on it. As long as you stay to the upper side of the foot, you should be ok location wise, your foot regrows skin at a faster rate than other spots of the body because of the wear and tear it sees. So getting it lower where callouses are can be horrible for tattoos fading quickly or ink not sticking well.
Inevitably you're going to wear something on your feet. If you can schedule the tattoo before a weekend where you can leave it mostly uncovered for the first few days, it'd be great. You can wear cotton or a breathable sock, you want the ink to get air to heal. Shoes, try to keep them loose and kick em off when you can. If worst comes to worst, the sock might stick to the tattoo, if it doesn't come off easily after you apply water to gently remove it, you might need minor touch ups.

A tattoo is a scar. In a worst case scenario, you might end up with a keloid type scar. They're common around piercings but if you've ever had anything like them before, you might want to really think about the tattoo. Otherwise, the tattoo won't scar beyond where the ink is applied unless you get an infection.
With today's inks and applications, most tattoos can go years without a touch up, but your feet might need them a bit more often if you're a fan of flip flops or similar shoes where the tattoo is going to see a lot of sun, or if you like cramming your feet in heels or other tight fitting shoes, they can effect how often you're going to get a touch up. Tattoos do fade. It's inevitable. It's up to your aftercare that's going to effect it and how often you'd need touch ups to refresh it. Lots of sun or abrasive shoes can certainly do damage to a tattoo.

You've left yourself plenty of time to plan, so be sure to pick out an artist you're comfortable with and ask them for aftercare advice. A lot of shops put up aftercare on their websites now so people can be prepared with the right lotions and such before they get their tattoo (I can't recall how many times I've had to run out after getting a tattoo cause I forgot to plan ahead of time). Some have different tips and tricks to make things easier for you and that can give you the time before the tattoo to pick up anything that can be beneficial to having at home before you get inked (like an ice pack if it gets too sore).

Otherwise, eat right before you go in to get your tattoo, drink something sugary, fuel helps your body tolerate the new wound Be sure to ask your artist what their aftercare is, they should be able to give you concise washing directions (typically 2-3 times a day with a mild soap, pat dry with a clean paper towel, apply thin layers of lotion, something scent free and dye free like lubriderm, etc) and other info so if you do need a touch up, they can rest assured you didn't try some off the wall healing process either. :) Have fun and happy holidays to you!

so rate the design for me also

P.S - i love dragons and japanese writing styles if that helps, and in the tattooing areas im thinking about which one is the most painful - the pain doesnt really bother me

P.S.S - im very very unlucky in life so something that could bring me luck would help alot to, i know some people don't believe in all that but i certainly do as nothing goes right for me when i do something that involves luck

Professionalism and tattoos....?
Q. I am in my early 20's and just getting started with my career. I was thinking about getting a tattoo similar to the singer Rihanna (see pic). I am very self concious about being well percieved at work, as I removed a piercing a few years ago due to fears of being misinterpreted as unprofessional. Generally I do not like neck tattoos on women, however I found tis to be pretty cute, and it looks like it can be reasonably covered. Do you think this may be a problem or source of regret?

http://justjared.buzznet.com/gallery/photos.php?yr=2008&mon=01&evt=rihanna-tattoo&pic=rihanna-tattoo-parlor-04.jpg
I would not call myself a prisoner lol, but the fact of the matter is, I'm not at a point in my career where I can disregard the opinions of my superiors...yet.

I don't know that I want it exactly like her's, but something similar.

A. well i say go for it.
any tattoo can covered up when need be.
i get questions like this before i tattoo people. i would recommend investing in some Dermablend. its serious coverup that models and actors use for covering tattoos. also it is raved about on BMEzine.com for covering facial tattoos.

if your worried your hair wont cover it, or even your clothes.. no worries, you'll have the dermablend.

when business is low i have to work in a hospital to pay the bills [got a nursing degree at 19 as a back-up plan], i use dermablend to cover my enormous tattoos...
no one at the hospital even knows i have a single tattoo..

Can someone please answer a couple questions about tattoo please?

Q. So before people say anything, I'm not getting the tattoo until I am 18, which is in two months. I been wanting a tattoo for a few years now, even though my parents would kill me if they found out. Anyways I'm first going to show you the tattoo I want so that you can answer my questions.
http://www.tattoobite.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/women-butterfly-tiger-tattoos-designs.jpg
Okay so the first question would be how much money should that cost?
The next one is can the tattoo artist make it just like that, because I have seen other images and I don't like them like I like that one because it looks realistic.
Also, I want to put it on my lower back center. Is that a good spot, and how is that area for tattooing when it comes to pain?
(I don't want the flowers around the butterfly, I just want the Tiger Butterfly).
Thanks for answering my questions. (:
Actually I do want the flowers there I'm just not sure about it because if you look at the picture, the girl's tattoo is slanted and i want mine going straight across my lower back (horizontally). So if you think it would look good going straight across from the wings (one side of the wings to the other) let me know cause I would do that, instead of it going slanted vertically.

A. Without color & light shading at the shop I go to that would be around $150-200, price usually depends on the shop & quality of the artist's work. I can't give a price for color because I have black ink.

The lower back is a large area & shading hurts like a mother. Areas with little fat, or are bone-y like your feet, knees, wrist, etc. usually hurt more than other places. Some people say the opposite, I guess it depends on you.

Like you, I thought over the idea of getting a tattoo for years, to me the pain was worth it.

A talented tattoo artist can make that easily, they can alter it too if you want to make it unique.

Where could I place my tattoo quote?
Q. Hello,
I was just wondering where people would believe the following tattoo quote would look good, but please bare in mind I need to hide this due to the profession I would like to go into in the future.

The tattoo quote is: The value of life does not depend on the amount of time on this earth, but on the amount of time shared by those we love and care about.

So any suggestions for my placement would be very useful for me to consider before going to have my tattoo done.

Thanks for any answers.xox
Sorry just to clarify I am a female

A. That's a long quote that'll take up a pretty big chunk of space. Most kinds of script need the letters to be at least 1-1.5 cm high for them not to become illegible when they age. You have a little over 100 letters in that quote, plus spaces. Unless you have it going right down your back or leg or wrapping around somewhere, it's going to need to be broken up into a few lines.

I personally think script looks best when it's done on a curve and fitted to the shape of the body. Compare these:

http://www.monasaha.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Cool-Lettering-Tattoos-Fonts-Design.jpg
http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2012/214/9/a/lettering_tattoo_by_fil_nachard-d59m5vq.jpg

to this:

http://glambistro.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Quote-Women-Tattoo-Lettering.jpg

The first two flow much more nicely. Your body isn't a flat sheet or paper, it has curves and it moves and it'll change.

I'd say on your chest or curving around your sides could work well, or tapering down your thigh or back. Your best bet would be to go to a good artist and ask what they think. Something that size won't just be a matter of "I want it here", it'll be a matter of "where can we fit this?"

Should I Try Color Oops, or do you have an idea on what I should do instead?

Q. I could go on for hours about all the havoc my hair's been through in the past year, about. December 2011. I dyed my hair red, then purple, then black, then red again but I looked like Ronald McDonald trying to grow out a goth phase. After re-dying black again, I've decided that maybe going blonde was cool! Wow, big mistake! Alright, burnt the SHIT out of my scalp, first off. Going from black to bleach was terrible. They had to stop the process before my hair fell out and it was an ugly-ass orange color for the longest time. The purple shampoo only did so much for my poor hair.

Roots grew in, so I got them redone. Oh, but it was surprising how my bleach blended with the roots. Well, my friend put bleach on my roots then combed it through once it was good enough, then we kept it for awhile. Once it was washed out, I used blue shampoo and it took out all the orange tint and looked marvelous. I'm serious, it looked amazing.

But my roots came back again, but it wasn't really a big deal because it wasn't too bad...until August of 2012. End of August, I was flipping out because my roots were like, a foot long (not really, my hair wasn't even at my shoulders at that time. It was about...1 1/2 inches long?) and my natural color is this DARK BROWN. So, I had another friend, who said she was good at bleaching and for me to trust her, to do it. Too bad that wasn't a smart idea. My roots were, once again, orange and my scalp was burning to a crisp until I finally washed it out because I couldn't take the pain much longer. She also threw in some blonde box dye for whatever reason and ohmygod why, it was so bad because it was burning my scalp even more. I wash it out and there was a blob of platinum, blob of orange, and not to mention the entire bottom layer of my hair being my natural because my friend forgot to do it. Alright, so I couldn't wear my hair up when I was outside in the boiling sun anymore.

Finally had enough of the terrible color and marched into the salon to get my hair filled back to my natural color, in October of 2012. Hm, too bad I chose too light of a brown. I forgot what my natural color WAS and some of it faded a bit. I've completely given up hope with my hair and just stuck to box dye. At least box dye fades, and my hair doesn't really let much color, if black, stay. I've only went jet black once. But I've dyed my hair black/blue and it just fades back to a blue/green in which I just changed to a black/purple.

But if you completely tl;dr this, at least skim a bit so you know the main idea. What I'm asking is, if I did the "Color Oops" treatment, would it go COMPLETELY back to the natural I've had before touching any dyes, bleaches, or fillers? People are saying yes, but I'm not quite sure. I need to check with someone first, considering I couldn't find any helpful forums.

Believe me, I'm able to pay any price at this state JUST so I can finally see my natural hair again, one day.

Also, I've killed the shit out of my hair during the bleach adventures. The only time it was soft was when the color was even and beautiful. After that, it got all dry again. Even after filling it, my hair randomly falls out and I think it's because of my scalp, but I'm not too sure.

A. I do not recommend hair stripping. You've got more chemicals on your hair than I have in a year!
Hair strippers are chemical treatments which are intended to strip out artificial color pigment with less risk or damage to the hair. The chemicals used are called reducing agents.
Certain 'metal' strippers containing sodium sulphoites are sold for reducing hair dyed with metallic dyes, as these dyes react violently with tint stripper containing hydrogen peroxide-the subsequent reaction may cause so much heat that the hair gets dissolved.

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. Its made from coal tar and is used in both permanent and semi-permanent hair colours. Its well-known to be a cause of serious allergic reactions -- including something called contact dermatitis which can lead to rashes, blisters, and open sores.
PPD is sometimes added to black henna tattoos and that using them is not safe. Allergic reactions usually begin within two to 10 days following application. One bad reaction can lead to sensitivities to other products such as hair dye, sunblock and some types of clothing dyes. Oftentimes, it's using the product a second or third time.

Celebrity wears two-tone hair dye all the time, trying to grow out their dye. They call that look ombre hair color darker roots, lighter ends but colorists sees that fading. Women are wanting dimensional color with natural highlights that look like they've been playing out in the sun.

"Ombre is the number one poorly done color in this country! It takes a lot of blending and finesse to look natural. The key is to highlight the whole head, then deepen just the roots. Unfortunately, a lot of the ombre I see today is bad - I'm ready for that to be retired! Dye should make hair look expensive and chic. Otherwise, what's the point?" ~ Harry Josh, Hollywood's top hairstylist, who have given Gisele ombre color for 13 years.

London, Feb 20, 2013 I've been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 36 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <

Skin specialist Najjia Ashraf reveals that there are barely any dyes that dont contain this toxin; even the ones who claim they dont, are not being honest. Big brands often escape the blame by suggesting they are ammonia-free. However, ammonia and PPD are two very different things and PPD is present in nearly every dye because it is what gives off the colour, she explains.
