What kinda damage can you have on hair if you dye it twice in a week ?

Q. Many tell me its bad to die it twice but I want to know what damage it does please help . I didnt use bleach js .

A. Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.

Google: Teen 'feared she would die' after reaction to hair dye
The allergic reaction was caused by a well-known brand of semi-permanent hair dye Chloe used to turn her hair black for a Halloween party. . . . . called for beauty bosses to ban hair dye chemical PPD (para-phenylenediamine) from the shelves. 11-04-11

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. Its made from coal tar and is used in both permanent and semi-permanent hair colours. Its well-known to be a cause of serious allergic reactions -- including something called contact dermatitis which can lead to rashes, blisters, and open sores.
PPD is sometimes added to black henna tattoos and that using them is not safe. Allergic reactions usually begin within two to 10 days following application. One bad reaction can lead to sensitivities to other products such as hair dye, sunblock and some types of clothing dyes. Oftentimes, it's using the product a second or third time.

Google: A 38-year old mother left in a coma after using hair dye. SHE DYED HER HAIR MANY TIMES BEFORE, USING THE SAME BRAND. The British woman who went into coma after a reaction to hair dye has died after a year. Updated 11-25-12. The woman suffered a heart failure, struggled for breath and became unconsciousness. Her family blamed paraphenylenediamine, a chemical found in hair colour. Her family has now called for paraphenylenediamine to be banned from home dye kits. In 2000, a 38-year-old Indian-origin woman from Birmingham, Narinder Devi, died after an allergic reaction to hair dye.

A WOMAN was temporarily blinded when her face swelled up "like a football" following what she told was a severe reaction to hair dye.
Carmen Rowe, 25, from Swansea was hospitalised for three days after using the Clairol 'Nice n' Easy' natural black colour. She said: "I lost my job, all for the sake of a glamorous hairstyle. I just want to warn parents what could happen." She claimed she carried out a skin test 48 hours before using the dye without a problem and has been colouring her hair since she was 13. "my hair had been bleached many times and can't grow past a certain length
its also falling out . i stopped bleaching it.
i just need to add lenght! but if i can stop it from falling out..that be great too"

What is a good drug store dye to turn hair from naturally black to blonde?
Q. I have natural curly black hair and I want to dye it blonde myself to save money instead of going to a shop. Which dyes work the best with minimal damage?

Thanks

A. Without minimal damaged or hair loss? NONE that I recommend.
Style meets chemistry meets biology: We're talking hair coloring.

Playing with chemicals is not like playing with clothes, or doing a manicure, there are penalties for playing chemicals in the lab. Even hair color experts at the salon are not rocket scientists, they do a bang up dye jobs to their clients or their own hair.

I want to be a tattoo artist, how?

Q. I am currently going to school to work as a designer in the video game industry. However I have been struggling with my classes in 3D and I have recently discovered the art of tattooing. I have two tattoos myself, both of which are of my own design. I would be very interested to pursue a career in tattoo, but I do not how now to go about doing this or if I would even be received well being a woman in a field dominated by men

A. I have four tattoos. My ex fiancee was a tattoo artist too, though he was freelance and used what you would call "jailhouse" style. I don't think you'll have a problem as a woman pursuing this, I know of quite a few women artists and I was interested at one time myself.. Personally, I think to be a great tattoo artist you should have talent and passion.. but then again, they have books for people to pick the design they want and those are basically stencils. But you said you have two of your own design, so you must have it! That makes a real tattoo artist. I've heard of some tattoo academies but I think there are other ways to get that certificate or license, whatever it is.. Being an APPRENTICE should be your first step.. find a good shop that you like and feel you'll get along with the person or people who work there. Maybe your apprenticeship will turn into a job. Good luck and be safe..

What's the meaning of this tattoo?

Q. http://www.tattooeasily.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Maori-Tattoo-designs-23.jpg
It's a Maori tattoo I found on the Internet, and I was wondering if you know the meaning of it, since most of those tattoos have one .. Thanks in advance :)

A. The Maori use tattoo to tell the world they have reached adulthood. Getting their faces tattooed was a right of passage that told the world "I'm an ADULT!" The design itself is a shorthand for the family geneology and often would tell rank. Women would get lip and chin tattoos while men would get full face tattoos.

It's best to be respectful if you choose one of these designs, however, as inappropriate placement like as a tramp stamp can be seen as offensive to the Maori. The design you posted is not a real Maori design. In fact, it can be seen as an offensive derivative due to it's positioning.

Didn't Obama say Insurance Premiums would NOT rise because of Obamacare?
Q. Sebelius: Some Could See Insurance Premiums Rise

Some people purchasing new insurance policies for themselves this fall could see premiums rise because of requirements in the health-care law, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told reporters Tuesday.

Ms. Sebeliuss remarks come weeks before insurers are expected to begin releasing rates for plans that start on Jan. 1, 2014, when key provisions of the health law kick in. Premiums have been a sensitive subject for the Obama administration, which is counting on elements in the health law designed to increase competition among insurers to keep rates in check. The administration has pointed to subsidies that will be available for many lower-income Americans to help them with the cost of coverage.

The secretarys remarks are among the first direct statements from federal officials that people who have skimpy health plans right now could face higher premiums for plans that are more generous. She noted that the law requires plans to provide better benefits and treat all customers equally regardless of their medical claims.

These folks will be moving into a really fully insured product for the first time, and so there may be a higher cost associated with getting into that market, she said. But we feel pretty strongly that with subsidies available to a lot of that population that they are really going to see much better benefit for the money that theyre spending.

Ms. Sebelius added that those customers currently pay more for their health care if their plans have high out-of-pocket costs, high deductibles or exclude particular types of coverage, such as mental health treatment. She also said that some men and younger customers could see their rates increase while women and older customers could see their rates drop because the law restricts insurers ability to set rates based on age and gender.

Most people who buy their own insurance policies will begin doing so this fall through new online marketplaces, which federal officials believe will force insurers to keep their prices down.

As a former insurance commissioner I have watched what transparency does to a market, Ms. Sebelius said. This is the first time ever in the history of the United States that insurance companies have to file their rates, it has to be very transparent, they have to offer the same kind of coverage without 5,000 tiny little lines and internal caps, and they have to compete for customers. And I am a believer in the market strategies that in and of itself will minimize the rate impact.

As The Wall Street Journal reported last week, some insurers have already begun signaling they could dramatically increase prices for people buying policies in the individual market to compensate for restrictions on how they treat consumers, as well as new fees and requirements that they provide bigger benefits packages.

The Society of Actuaries, a nonpartisan professional association, has issued a new report warning that the cost of medical claims in the new individual-insurance market could rise by an average of 32% per person over the first few years the law is in place, as more people with higher medical needs get coverage, and that the impact will be very different depending on the state. Medical bills are another key factor in determining premiums.

Dave87gn - I won't insult your intelligence by suggesting that you really believe what you just said.
Douglas S - Somewhere out there is a tree, tirelessly producing oxygen so you can breathe. I think you owe it an apology.

A. the bottom line is quite scary. Those that have chose not to have health care will make any excuse to get Obamacare passed. They do not care who it hurts or who it effects. I know so many people that own houses, have new cars and go on vacations and say they have no money for health care. Yet, those of us who have sacrificed, and paid our health care costs all along are the ones that are being punished by having OUR health care costs inflated to pay for those that don't feel like paying for health care but got a brand new tattoo........welfare is there for those that need help we did not need another program that will help the non workers and punish the workers again. Then again, Obama hates those that work hard, we did not build that, he did, his government did and we are the ones that will pay for it, while he attends another basketball game or golf game. UGGGGG.

When you see someone with a tattoo what is your first thought?

Q. I have four tattoos, i want to get one fixed and get another one. But my moms boyfriend told me that : Visible tattoos are unprofessional looking: Many people associate tattoos with low-class individuals, and not professional, thoughtful, dynamic people. From a professional standpoint, this popular but misconstrued attitude can hurt a person with a tattoo during the job interview process. Many tattoo artists will refuse to iunk a person on their neck just for this reason. Women with tattoos are indecent: The so-called tramp-stamps, or tattoos that many women have on their lower backs are often associated with a promiscuous lifestyle. While this attitude is diminishing, it is still prevalent in many cultures, and women should be aware of the connotation that a tattoo in this location could have. Is this true do most people believe this crap??
The four tattoos I have now can all be hidden. I have one on my ankel, the back of my leg, my lower back and my upper shoulder. Sure when I bend down you can see my lower one and in the summer all of them are visible on the beach. I just got my EMT license and thinking about goingout for the fire dept. Im going to school to either become a nurse or own my own business. I just dont like being judged bc Im expressing my life through body art
Im not offended by people who say ewww or think they are "trashy" but if you feel that way could you explain why you feel that way

A. I don't believe any of those stereotypes. Usually if I see someone with a tattoo I'm interested in what it is and perhaps how they chose it. I think the stigma that comes with a tattoo is ridiculous.

What is the big thing with tattoos?
Q. I am just wondering what the big deal is about tattoos. I have been raised in which tattoos are bad, and I have a girlfriend who really wants one. I care for her a lot and I am trying to be open to it but its really hard for me. And I am trying to better understand it. I remember when I was a kid no body ever had tattoos. And now everywhere I go i at least see one a day. And in the same locations on women. I just wanna know what the big thing is. I know its art I like some of the designs but I dont understand how someone would make it permanent. I dont know I am just trying understand it and its really hard for me.

A. I don't think just 1-3 is to bad. However, I wouldn't get over that much. I wouldn't get a vulgar tattoo either. I don't like seeing someone with like 40 tattoos but that's just me. I was thinking about getting one myself; I'm just not to sure.

I am getting a Chinese goddess on my back, the goddess is based on the book beautiful women, and the imagery is stunning as will my tattoo be, what do most people think about white people (females) getting chinese or Japanese inspired goddess/geisha tattoos? you never see a chinese girl with a Celtic arm band. do you all thin it is sexy, dishonorable, art lover
thanks
no I am not trying to be a harajuku girl or anything like that lol I just happen to love the art in this book and the goddess has great meaning to me

A. I can't answer for what Chinese people would think - but if easterners were getting tattoos inspired by my culture I think I would find it flattering if anything, if it was a good piece of work! I wouldn't think anything less of you for having it, particularly if you have an appreciation for the culture and the art. It's much better than all the teenagers getting (usually incorrect) Kanji symbols just for the hell of it when they have no understanding or particular affinity to the culture their tattoo comes from. I know those kind of tattoos are often the butt of many oriental's jokes, moreso because they almost always have the wrong meaning! At the end of the day, most tattoo styles have their roots in one culture or another, even if we don't realise it. Pin up girl tattoos are traditionally American but I know a lot of British people with them, for example! I go on a tattoo forum and recently there was a guy on there ranting on about how it was so disrespectful and pathetic how non-maori's often had maori tattoos (he was from new zealand) and that how his tattoo was better because it had no meaning it was just a 'popular pattern', until I pointed out that his tattoo was celtic and had it's roots in scotland, wales and ireland, at which point he shut up! Anyway, as long as you're happy with the design and the meaning it holds for you then the opinions of others are totally irrelevant!

What do you think of white people who wear cultural clothes?
Q. Does anyone get offended if someone outside your own culture wears your cultures traditional clothes/costumes?

For example, if you are Japanese, do you get upset when you see a white person wearing a kimono or obi?

Or if you're black, do you get upset when you see non blacks wearing African beads or inspired outfits?

Or if your Native American, do you get offended by people wearing your cultures clothes, leathers, or jewelry?

A. It depends.....is it something we share willingly? Did we make the jewellery to sell? Did we make the clothing to sell? Or is it made-in-China garbage sold at Hottopic?

That is the big question....Did WE make it, for your enjoyment, or have you co-opted something we weren't sharing?

No one gets offended at people wearing silly dreamcatcher shirts/earrings, or pleather moccasins with plastic beads. We LAUGH at those that do. No one cares about people getting dreamcatcher tattoos....its another occasion to laugh at their ignorance, for its obvious they have NO idea what it actually is.

The part that we get offended at, is when people wear headdresses, or regalia, as regular clothing, claiming its "fashion". A headdress is akin to a military vet's medals. Each feather in one has been awarded for a deed or honour. No one would ever dare wear a vet's medals as if they were their own....so why do they presume to wear a headdress, which is the same thing? Or worse yet, stick a skanky, half-naked woman in it, and take horribly amateur pictures, calling it "art".

Notice that you don't find books or websites written by legit Natives, detailing our beliefs. Nor do you ever see an Indian handing out flyers, or going to door to door, inviting nons to our ceremonies. That is because the sacred isn't for sale, and it isn't for sharing. We don't seek out converts, or take on recruits, because our beliefs aren't for you. And considering how many of our sacred items....like eagle feathers and headdresses....are for sacred purporse...NO, we don't want to share them, and it is offensive that people just take what they want, for their own selfish reasons.

The little tiny bits we have shared in the past, have all been corrupted. Look at how many people make dreamcatchers now....and somehow attribute them to all Native cultures, or as a symbol of Indian-ness, when they are only part of ONE Native culture. Or new-agers and their co-opting of the word 'totem'. They've twisted it to mean some nonsense animal spirit guide fluff. It means Clan. Nothing more, nothing less. But now everyone demands that Natives have these animal spirit guide things, because of their thievery of one word.

I go out of my way, to make damn sure I don't co-opt from any other cultures, anything they don't share willingly. And just because its in a store, doesn't mean they had the right to put it there.

*jeans and t-shirts are not cultural items. A kilt, leiderhosen, etc are.

What tattoo should I get on my rib cage.?

Q. I have a lot of tattoos and I really want one on my rib cage. I'm a female with a very small build. I want it to be big but with small lines, very feminin. I want it to have some meaning behind it not just a picture. Some of my enterest and personal experiences are:
Im a very strong assertive woman and I've been through a lot.
I like dolphines
Family is very important
I'm not religious so no bible scripts or anything
I believe every woman should feel beautiful with out cosmetic surgery or hair dye or make up.

SO I want a tattoo with some meaning and those were some of my interest so maybe someone can help me.

A. you don't want something directly covering your rib cage why don't you try something that flows with your body, such as a tattoo that goes from your hip bone to the bottom of your rib cage.
i can't seem to think a bra up against a tattoo for 12 hours or more is going to feel too good!

Where would a tattoo of roman numerals look good on a woman?
Q. I'm considering in the [near] future getting a tattoo done of roman numerals. Yes, these numbers mean something important to me. I'm not sure exactly where to get them. I've been tossing around either on my rib cage or on my back right/left shoulder blade.

Where do you think a roman numeral tattoo would look good on a woman? I'm up for any suggestions.

A. Well, that depends on the woman, the numerals, and their overall artistic design, really. Also, placement would be key. The ribcage area actually sounds lovely, if you're looking for a larger piece. No doubt it will be painful, but tattoos will be uncomfortable to get, no matter where you get them...you might as well get one where you really want it -- and, wouldn't mind seeing there permanently. Some of the most beautiful tattoos I've ever seen have been along someone's side, across their ribs.

If you'd like a smaller piece, I like the inside of the wrist and the lowest base of the neck, right above the center of the shoulder blades.

Why do some say All American Muslim not accurate?

Q. I talk a little on tumblr with an American Muslim woman and she said the show is not accurate and she won't watch it. Just wondering the point of view of others.

And sorry if this is in the wrong section, wasn't sure where to put it.
I thought people would be mature enough to answer this without me asking them to but I guess not. stop judging. 9/11 wasn't because they were muslim. There are bad people in every religion. Grow up.

A. Oh my goodness, I watched like 10 minutes.

It was horrible!

The fat lady was exposing her leg up to the hip to show off a tattoo she had.

Her eyebrow and I think her nose were pierced. She didn't wear hijaab in any aspect--her sleeves were to her shoulder, her hair was exposed, her entire body was practically exposed. her parents didn't care, but her husband had to miraculously be Muslim. The man didn't even know what shahadah was!!! He blindly accepted Islam. He did no research himself.

They had dogs, too!

It was terrible, so so terrible!

Do people find women with lots of tattoos to be unfeminine?
Q. I don't have any, and I'm not talking about the woman who has one or two, I mean like a sleeve or just multitudes of them all over. Tattoos in general are not the exotic body art that they were years ago -- many many people from all stages and phases of life have them. They are socially acceptable for the most part (i.e. you will no longer be denied a job - for the most part- based on the fact you have ink).

Even given all this, though, are they still considered more of a male thing?
Awww jeez KIA don't be a butterfly hunter...now I have to re-evaluate my feelings for you....lol...
Personally, I think either no ink or just one or two on a guy is hot. I don't want to be with someone with facial tattoos or a full back of them, but some of them can be really amazing looking. If it's done right, even sleeves don't have to be overwhelming.
Ultimately tho, it wouldn't be a deal breaker

A. I like artistic, feminine tattoos on other women, even when they have a sleeve or when they have their whole chest/shoulder area tattooed, if the tattoos are very well done. I like bright colors, feathers, birds, flowers, cherry blossoms, that kind of thing. I think tattoos can look cute on young women, but they don't look so great when women age, and the tattoo gets dull, fades, and most of all, just looks worn out and trashy. I don't understand women who get tattoos around their stomach area... if they get pregnant the tattoo is going to stretch and become distorted, they could get stretch marks on the tattoo, etc. People don't really think about the long term when they get tattoos. Tattoos are permanent, but they have a short shelf life in that sense. I like the way tattoos look (artistic, well done ones) but I don't like the idea of them being permanent.

I don't think faded, dull, worn out tattoos look good on older men either, but a man can age decently while having a full sleeve or a dozen tattoos on his body, some men can pull it off. I don't think the same is true for women, people expect women's bodies to be smooth and feminine, the tattoos become coarse looking after a while.

I was just looking at a tattoo blog earlier today, in fact! Here are some tattoos I like:

If you see a woman with a tattoo between her breasts what does that tell you about her?

Q. I wanted to get a tattoo and I wanted to have it right between my breasts because that seems to be the most logical place to have it since it won't stretch and I'll be able to see it. But my family thinks that that is trashy on woman. I don't won't it on my arms or legs. I could get it on the back of my neck though. But what do you think? Is that trashy to you? Would it be better to have it on the back of my neck?

A. It would greatly put out the wrong idea about you that's for sure. I would advice not getting it there unless you're out for "that" kind of attention. But at the end of the day it's your body. do with it as you wish.

How Long should you wait after giving birth to get a tattoo?
Q. I'm due in roughly 8 weeks and after i give birth and heal from any injuries involved, I want to get a tattoo on my back with my daughter's name and her date of birth. I am going to breastfeed (if i can) and I can't find much online about any possible complications of getting a tattoo about 1-3 months after giving birth. Help?

A. Definitely wait until you are done breast feeding. Reputable tattoo shops will not tattoo a woman that is breast feeding because of the risk of infection. In the paperwork that you have to fill out before getting a tattoo, they ask if you are pregnant or breast feeding and if you lie and say you are not and sign the paperwork and then something happens, they can not be held liable. It's possible that you can pump your milk before getting a tattoo to stock it up. Then for 2-3 weeks after getting the tattoo you can use the saved milk you have while continuing to pump to maintain your supply and discard the pumped milk for the 2-3 weeks after the tattoo.

How painful is an ankle tattoo?

Q. I've only had one tattoo, and it's on my right upper back / shoulder blade area. It wasn't bad at all, kinda like a cat scratching me with a vibrating claw. I'd like to get a second tattoo, on the outer side of my right ankle, just about the ankle bone. Can someone tell me how much more painful that location will be, relative to the one I've already gotten? Thanks!

A. I answer these questions related to pain in the same way every time.

The pain in different places differs from person to person, pain threshold does have a lot of input but, for example, my chest tattoo didn't hurt at all, where as some people I know said their chest tattoo hurt a lot!

Anyway, here's a basic pain level chart I always reffer people to.

Pain level 1
These include the upper arm, forearm, calf, Bum, and Thigh. For a 1st tattoo these are great points to begin your inked journey.

Pain level 2
These include the centre back, front / side of thighs and shoulders. This is also not too bad a start for your first tattoo. The shoulders and central back region can be area that require quite a lot of movement. The skin on these areas is much looser meaning it takes longer to tattoo and also longer to heal. On areas that have lots of movement such as these, require more care once a tattoo is completed. Due to the thigh area being quite a dense muscle mass and also quite tight skin, it may tend to bruise the day after.

Pain level 3
These include the knees, elbows, hands, head, neck, feet, chest and back of thighs. Beginners beware of starting at these areas. You would need to be determined to have tattoos here as the high sensitivity would require a lot of mental focus to get you through. The poor quality of skin on both the knees and elbows will result in a very slow tattoo process and nerves are very close to the surface in these areas. This could result in the tattooing being unbearable for any length of time for some people. As with the orange areas these tend to be high movement areas and will require a longer healing timescale. You may find that to achieve a good solid colour, you may have to repeat the tattoo process on these areas. As a side note the chest area on men can be much more sensitive to pain than a woman, yet due to the tighter skin on a male, the tattoo can be completed quicker.

Pain level 4 (OWCHIE!)
Areas include hips, ribcage, stomach, back of knees, armpit, inside of elbow, nipples, lips, inside of thighs and genitals. Are you really sure you want to get that tattoo? As these areas can elicit crying, half finished tattoos or even the customer passing out. This could just be more than you may be able to handle. All of these purple areas are considered by most to be the most painful areas to be tattooed. The stretchy or thin skin over bone are slow to tattoo, some of these may require multiple sessions to achieve solid colour and smooth shading. Healing can be just as painful as receiving the tattoo and may require a few days off from your regular activities.

SOME USEFUL TIPS WHEN GETTING A TATTOO:

Women are your more sensitive the week prior to and during your cycle. Plan around those dates to have the best experience possible when getting your tattoo.
Use lotion everyday on the area to be tattooed at least 1 week prior for healthier skin and better results.
Do not go out in the sun at least one week prior to being tattooed (including tanning beds) This drys the skin and if peeling occurs could damage the tattoo.
Consider what you will wear for 2 weeks while healing if your tattoo is in an area like the foot, waist, shoulders or chest. Shoes, waistbands, belts, underwear, and bras can all damage tattoos if you do not plan ahead. Find comfortable clothing that will not touch or rub during this time.
Always eat a good meal before being tattooed and drink plenty of fluids.
Be sure to get a good nights rest before your appointment.
Ask what kind of aftercare products you will need when you set up to get your tattoo.
Mention any allergies you may have, pigments, dyes, perfumes.
Some medication may thin your blood, check with your doctor before being tattooed.
Anyone with an autoimmune disorder needs to check with their doctor and should bring a note to be tattooed.

Have you ever seen people disrobing in a restaurant to show off a tattoo?
Q. I have seen people do this a few times. They think that "No shirt, No shoes, No service, does'nt apply to them because their crap tattoo is really important. Tattoos have historically been consider 'low class" and I think this kind of behaviour confirms it.

A. I saw a woman take off her pants to show off a tattoo that went from her hip to her knee. We were in a nice Italian restaurant and everything. I was shocked and appalled.

Should the NBA ban players with tattoos or other ridiculous looking hair?

Q. So many of the black athletes have ridiculous hair and will not wear suits to games. These black people look like trash and near some direction. Maybe if David Stern would just fine more of the players the white guys in the suits would be making more money.

A. It is the black people who are actually making those shots those white people cant make. Why shouldnt they be able to have tattoos?? cause idiots like you dont like them?? Then dont watch. As far as their hair goes that is just retarded!! I would love to see a pic of you.
They shouldnt have to wear suits either. They dont play in them. It doesnt effect the game one bit. But they do get fined if they dont show up in them. If they want to pay... WHO CARES?? The people who are making them big bucks are making that money because of their shooting ability. Maybe those white boys should step up there game a little,THEN THEY WILL MAKE MORE MONEY

P.S. According to your other questions, it is apparent you are a racist and a sexist. Must hurt your feeling, with all them blacks and women making more out of themselves that you ever could. You are pythetic!!!

EDIT:

ACTUALLY DICK DAVE23:

Thats not what I was saying. He was complaining about the white boys ...sniff sniff not making the money they should. If they were out there shooting like Lebron, they would be making more money. THATS WHAT I WAS SAYING DUMBASS

What are some fun games or ice breakers for a Women's Retreat?
Q. I am planning a Women's Retreat for my chruch. There will be 15 - 25 women in a beach house in October. What are some fun, silly games or events we could do at the house?

A. Sit in a circle and have everyone tell the group something they have done that
1) No one would guess to look at them
2) They are proud of

I do this all the time at potluck tables. I added (2) because people would think I was asking them to reveal personal secrets, like they got two days out of a pair of socks. I was looking more for "I climbed Mt. Whitney" or "I have a tattoo from my days in the Peace Corps".

What do you think of women with tattoos?

Q. It seems like almost every girl in New York has a tattoo. Last summer, I went up to Orchard Beach, and it seemed like 90% of the girls had tattoos (and most of them had more than one - one girl had at least 10 of them) And just about every girl in the city has a tattoo on her lower back.

Do you think women look good with tattoos?

How many tattoos are "too many" for a woman?

And is their any body part that women shouldn't get tattooed?

A. I think tattoos are a artistic way to for a person to express themselves male/female. Women inparticular are just more likely to not be as obvious of theirs as men are that's why they are in places that can be hidden or covered up by certain types of clothing we wear. That's why the lower back is so common, plus it's a very sexy place to have it also. I think tattoos with a special artistic or personal meaning look good because noone else but that person can relate to it,it will have something special for that one person. But if somone get's a tattoo because of a bet or some dumb drunken act then no it won't look good. All over body tattoos dont look good on girls especially on the face, I do admire the facial tattoos but I dont agree with them. But it's all up to the female, if she wants something meaningful and personal it will be beautiful no matter where it is. But if it's just some joke of a thing to do, just to fit in a crowd ,then it will be as ridiculous as the person who gets it.

What is it with men and lower back tattoos?
Q. I went on a first date with a man this week who (accidentally) saw my lower back tattoo and asked so many questions about it! Now I was just watching Disney Cars and the male car is talking about a pinstripe tattoo on the female.

What's the big deal about that spot?

A. i asked my boyfriend about this one.

according to him, the small of a woman's back is very sexy. as far as tattoos there, it's a spot that is already a very sensual spot and a tattoo there is more often obscured. i happen to have a tattoo there (and no, it's not a tribal design or a butterfly or anything else "typical") and it's rarely seen by others. the first time my boyfriend saw it, he also asked me questions galore. he now jokes that it's like x-marks-the-spot; that's exactly where he puts his hand.

What are ways television is censored in the usa?

A. censorship in the US is messed up I saw a show where they blurred the private parts of a guy's tattoo also a few years ago there was a show on MTV where a woman was getting breast surgery while the doctor was in the room they showed everything as he talked about her breasts but when the doctor left the room they blurred her nipples because now we were looking at tits but when the doctor returned everything was shown, How messed up is that?

Why do people say getting tattoos are a sin?
Q. From what I been thought as a kid, the soul is what counts not the body. So what does it really matter? When you die you can't take your body with you. It just becomes an empty vessel that gets taken back into the earth.

A. It's well open to debate (I know many devote Christians who have tattoos relating to religion -such as the Virgin Mary or crosses who argue it is open to interpretation). Although I'm sure there are those who quote in Leviticus 19:28, Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD. (NIV). This would seem to indicate that tattoos are a bad thing. It's suppose to be seen as you trying to alter the image of God (since humans are apparently designed in his image).

There are plenty of crazy things in Leviticus and else where in the bible that the same people who call tattoos a sin commit or disregard exist because they'd be viewed as immoral:
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that men are allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath.Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?
7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear glasses to see distant. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle- room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My friend's uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

Yes, some are these are well open to interpretation, however for the most part, these would be viewed as ridiculous as well as hypocritical if you tried arguing against them but tried condemning tattoos. I agree with you, it's your soul and personality that matters, your body is just a way of emphasising it. I enjoy studying this stuff, so I hope this helped or was intriguing.

what would be a good tattoo mural to symbolize motherhood?

Q. I want to get a mural tattooed on my back that will represent the change from childhood to motherhood. I know that i want it to be gray scaled and that I don't want the usual faeries, butterfly's, frogs or flowers but im not very creative and the artist needs a general idea that i want to display any ideas?

A. Take images from your childhood, a picture of you on a swing or slide, in diapers, being held, sleeping, different ages, toys and books, and the things that you were interested in at different stages, objects to represent time periods and ages, silhouettes, etc. Look in scrapebooks, and bring any and all pictures, and written ideas to your artist and see what him/her comes up with.

Post pregnancy pictures for women who had stomach tattoos?
Q. I have been looking all over for a website that shows pictures of women who have tattoos on their belly, abdomen, upper hip etc. I want to see how many women have had their tattoos deformed or they're fine. I have a really meaningful tattoo that I don't want messed up, but that's not gonna stop me from having a child. I'm just wondering.

A. everyone is different, some people can go through pregnancy without hurting their tattoos... others end up with stretch marks ruining the image.

You won't know how you'll turn out until it happens.

Does anyone know if a tattoo affects your breast milk?
Q. I would not think it does but I wondered if anyone has done any research on it. My husband and I are designating our children with animals so our first son will be given a bear. I am getting bear paw prints on my back but want to know if I need to wait till I am completely done nursing. I hope not bc obviously he is something that we are both proud of and want to show it together. My husband is getting a bear on his shoulder.

A. http://www.kellymom.com/health/lifestyle/mom-activities.html#Tattoos
Tattoos

There is no evidence that getting a tattoo will affect breastfeeding. There should be no harm to mom or baby from the dyes injected. If you get a tattoo, the biggest concern for anyone (not just nursing moms) is infection (hepatitis or HIV)-- so make sure the place you go has good references and is clean.

http://www.llli.org//FAQ/tattoos.html
Is it safe to get a tattoo while breastfeeding?

Tattoos are created by injecting ink into the dermal (second and third) layer of the skin. Tattooists use a hand-held electric machine that is fitted with solid needles coated in the ink. The needles enter the skin hundreds of times a minute to a depth of up to a few millimeters. The ink that is used in tattoos in the United States is subject to FDA regulation as cosmetics, but none are approved for injection under the skin. However, the ink molecules are too large to pass into breastmilk.

General information about tattooing also applies to breastfeeding women. Local and systemic infections are the most prevalent risks of tattooing. Local infections can occur when the recommended aftercare regimen is not followed. Aftercare includes keeping the tattoo clean with mild soap and water, not picking at the scabs and keeping the tattoo out of the sun. Tylenol is often prescribed for the pain, if needed. Systemic infections occur when universal precautions are not followed by the tattoo artist and can include such diseases as hepatitis, tetanus and HIV.

It is very important to screen the tattooist and the shop carefully, checking with the local health department for local laws and regulations. Professional tattooists will follow universal precautions such as sterilization of the tattoo machine using an autoclave, single-use inks, ink cups, gloves and needles, bagging of equipment to avoid cross contamination, and thorough hand washing with disinfectant soap. Most tattooists will not knowingly tattoo a pregnant or breastfeeding mother. It is suggested that mothers wait at least until the child's first birthday to give their bodies a chance to recover completely from childbirth before getting a tattoo.
Is it safe to have a tattoo removed while breastfeeding?

Tattoo removal is now accomplished with the use of lasers. The laser energy causes the tattoo pigment to fragment into smaller particles which are picked up by the body's immune system and filtered out. The removal process is bloodless, low risk and has minimal side effects. The same aftercare as for a tattoo applies to its removal.

There is no evidence suggesting that tattoos affect the breastfeeding relationship or have any effect on breastmilk. If you have chosen to adorn your body with a tattoo and give your baby the baby the best start in life by breastfeeding you can feel comfortable in your decision.

How many hours would this tattoo take?

Q. I would like to know about how many hours it would take to tattoo the word 'wonderland' (in this type of font: http://25.media.tumblr.com/b902ee0361da2e86b9cf8c7ffb018551/tumblr_mhwseiL2Jo1rv8v63o1_500.jpg) underneath my collar bone (similar to this:http://favim.com/mini/201106/25/collarbone-girl-ink-redemption-tattoo-woman-82761.jpg) but extending to my shoulder where there would be a black flower outline (like this: http://cute-tattoo.com/files/2013/01/4110016.jpg) around the end of the word. The flower would be much smaller than the one in the picture about 3x3 inches

A. All put together it would take about 5 hours, not even that! They're all simple and easy designs, there's not a lot of details so it won't take long to do.

What tattoo should i get?
Q. Hey so i got 5 tattoos and i want another one but not too big because i am getting married next year and i am already engaged, here are my tattoos this is not me in the pics they are just the same tattoos i have ....

Can a woman who is a extreme flirt at work file sexual harassment charges?

Q. Comes to work dressing provocative, talks openly about her sex life to any group of men-regardless how well she knows them or if they want to hear it or not. Has even went as far as flashing a tattoo on her breast to men at work.
Now turns around and files sexual harassment charges? How can this work?

A. Yes she can. As far as the law is concerned....the guys have the short end of the stick in this case

Can having a tattoo on your breast affect milk production?
Q. I have a tattoo on one breast and its always been slightly smaller than the other one, but now Im 39 weeks and the breast with no tattoo has grown more than the one with the tattoo and seems to leak more often (the tattoo boob leaks sometimes but not very often) my breasts are not totally unporportionate, you can only tell that one is bigger if you stare at them lol but Im just concerned about not producing milk with the tattooed one.

A. I wouldn't worry. The amount that you leak during pregnancy doesn't indicate your future supply. With my 1st child, I leaked constantly from 5 months pregnant on. With my 2nd child, I only leaked on one occassion during the whole pregnancy. Yet with both children, I've had plenty of milk. MORE than enough, actually!

Congrats on the baby on the way! Make sure that you get good support if you have any problems. The first few weeks of breastfeeding might be difficult, but its worth it =) With the proper support, you and your baby can have a comfortable and successful breastfeeding relationship. Not sure if you know this, but I'll share just in case you dont! Make sure the hospital doesnt give your baby any bottles, or it can sabotage your milk supply. It is very important that your body gets the signal to produce milk by having your baby on the breast every time he/she is hungry! Also, bottles too early can cause nipple confusion, so its best to avoid them altogether for at least the first few weeks to get a good latch and supply established. Another thing, if you ever try pumping, remember that it is NOT an accurate indicator of how much milk you actually produce. Many women's bodies do not respond well to pumps, and can only pump a little, or not at all. Your baby is the most effective milk extractor.

If you ever need any help, contact La Leche League. You can visit their website, or get help in person. http://www.llli.org/resources.html?m=0

www.kellymom.com is also an excellent breastfeeding resource.

Email or IM me if you have any questions =)

Good luck and congrats!

What's your first impression of a girl with a dragon tattoo?

Q. I've been wanting a tattoo on my upper back (no tramp stamp) for the past 5 years, since I was 17. I want something that represents my transformation from a self conscious wallflower to the independent woman that I am today. I've been drawn to dragon tattoos, but it seems most people think they're a little too harsh, and some people asked me if I was into women when I mentioned it. I know it's my decision, but I just want other opinions. Do women with dragon tattoos come off as rough around the edges, or possibly even butch? I want an elegant design with fluid motion and cross-hatching to look more feminine.

A. It doesn't matter what other people think. If you like dragons, then get a dragon tattoo. I like dragons and I plan on getting a dragon tattoo as well. I personally think that chinese dragons look pretty cool. But seriously, it's your body, not theirs..you shouldn't care about what people think of your tattoo(s). The people who say that if you have a dragon tattoo you are into women is idiotic and stupid...that's not what they mean at all. Apparently, they have no idea what they are talking about.

What Clairol Natural Instincts hair color should I use to achieve natural Asian hair color again?

Q. I have lightened hair from bleaching a year ago and would like to dye my hair back to its original color again. I usually use L'oreal but took interest in the Clairol's Natural Instincts line. I originally planned on buying Natural Instincts Ebony Mocha/Brown-Black but read from reviews that the color was actually darker than what is shown on the box. So, I chickened out because I didn't want my hair turning too dark or black. I have a similar hair color to this celebrity:
http://d1i45kki000yqu.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/iu-tumblr.png

What other color from the Natural Instincts line would you recommend to achieve the hair color in the photo? or...What other ammonia-free/semi-permanent color and brand would you recommend?

Thank you in advance!

A. Going back to its original color just takes you longer to get there, if you add another layer of hair dye on your hair.

Celebrity wears two-tone hair dye all the time, trying to grow out their dye. They call that the ombre style.

Style meets chemistry meets biology: We're talking hair coloring.

London, Feb 20, 2013 I've been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 22 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <

Skin specialist Najjia Ashraf reveals that there are barely any dyes that dont contain this toxin; even the ones who claim they dont, are not being honest. Big brands often escape the blame by suggesting they are ammonia-free. However, ammonia and PPD are two very different things and PPD is present in nearly every dye because it is what gives off the colour, she explains.

How do I gain my mom's trust back & how do I apologize to her?
Q. A little over a month ago I was on tumblr and whatnot and I saw a girl with a side-shave. if you don't know what that is, it's when the side of your hair is shaved. I thought it was cool so I asked my mom if I could do it and my mother being the close-minded woman she is, said no. I honestly contemplated it over a series of weeks and I pulled my hair back several times to see what it would look like and I honestly really loved it. I shaved it off but the thing is, I did like under my hair so it's not obvious at all unless you pull my hair back. Today my mom saw it and she freaked out and started hitting me (not hard or anything) and screaming at me. I know I shouldn't have done it but my mom is one of the close-minded people that thinks they're always right and how you should never have tattoos, ears piercing, black nail polish is the devil's shit, and all that kind of bull. Then when we get home she starts screaming about how I probably do drugs and shit and I HAVE NEVER DONE DRUGS. Even though all of my friends do and they constantly me offer it, I always say no because I know disappointed my parents would be if they found out. I shaved the side of my head, so?!?!? It's hair right? It'll grow back. It's not like I went and smoked a bunch of weed and got arrested.
Now my mom is screaming at me and she won't even allow me to talk to her because every time I try to get a sentence out of my mouth, she starts screaming. I had plans to meet my favorite actor ever on friday and my mom knows how much this means to me because he's my favorite actor in the entire world and I finally scored tickets to meet him and my mom won't let me go now. It's honestly a bunch of bull and I just want to know how I can get her to forgive me and allow me to go? I'm 16 by the way and i kind of just read over this, I swear i'm not as bratty as this is making me seem. I'm all in all, a really good kid and I get good grades and this is probably the 2nd mistake i've made in my entire teenage years.

I honestly didn't think my mom would freak out this much about my hair and hasdifhaskdfh asd,. How do I apologize to her?

Thanks in advance!

A. Sounds just like my mom.

I know they might seem unreasonable sometimes, but you just have to stick through it for a few more years. You can have all the freedom you want when you turn 18, but as long as you're still a teenager you'd be wise to follow your parents' orders, no matter how stupid they may seem.

Life lesson aside, the best thing to do is calmly (and I really mean CALMLY) apologize to your mom, promise it'll never happen again, give her some sad sob story about how you just wanna talk to her normally again, and hope she forgives you. Trying to argue or reason with her will only make it worse for both of you.

how do you feel about women with tattoos?

Q. Do you think women with tattoos are less or more attractive?

A. Just as I don't lump all females into one category, I don't lump all tattoos into one category, either. Really good skin art on a pretty woman makes her look exotic. A well done three quarter sleeve, on the right girl, looks really good. Poorly done work takes away from her attractiveness.

Opinions on girls with quarter sleeve tattoos?
Q. I'm female, wanting to get a tattoo on my upper arm. I have no idea if i should do this or not. should i stick to something smaller? please give me your input, thanks!

A. I hate to say this because it is so cliche. But it depends on the tattoo. I am not a big fan of large tattoos on women. I like small discreet tattoos instead of in-your-face. But with that being said, I have seen some beautiful larger tattoos (including sleeves) on women that are amazing.

Can hair grow back from coloring hair loss?

Q. I've been dying my hair red for almost a year now and I'm pretty confident that I want to stop for many reasons.

The last time I had my hair dyed (which was a week ago) since then my hair is been falling out dramatically. I'm pretty sure the reason for my hair falling out is either my hair is now damaged from all of the hair coloring I've done or the new hair dye she put in my hair containing some chemical that does this. This afternoon I'm going to see the lady who does my hair so we can figure out what to do and find a solution.

If by chance my hair is falling out because of either of those two reasons that I have listed, is there any hope that my hair will eventually grow back and be strong and healthy again? Or have I permanently stunned my hair now?

A. Yes.

Can I mix purple conditioner and an ash-toned dye to get silver hair?
Q. I've seen many people suggest that you mix purple hair dye with conditioner, but I am honestly having a hard time finding the purple hair dye (I'm in a foreign country and I have no idea where to go at the moment)

However, I do have some strong purple conditioner. If I mix this purple conditioner with a ash/pearl blonde dye, will it help tone my hair to a more silvery color?

(My hair is nearly platinum blonde now with hardly any yellow)
The only problem with calling the phone number is the fact I'm in a foreign country and I don't speak the language fluently yet. And these are two separate products I'm thinking about using together. (but probably won't unless I can get a straight up answer) so I wouldn't even know who to contact. I do appreciate your concern about my health, though.

A. Call the 1-800# found on the box of dye or email them, (to find #, go online & search the brand if you don't have the box) they're the hair color experts they can advice you best. Style meets chemistry meets biology: We're talking hair coloring.

Q. I plan on getting a tattoo in my hip/pelvic region. I don't want everyone to be able to see it. I haven't picked a design yet but it will be pretty and feminine.

A. I've always been told by guys that my ink is attractive:)

Q. I've got a few tats and next I want a little heart done(sounds daft but it has meaning to me),I want this one to make me look sexier naked(that's not why I'm having it but would b a great bonus),where on a womans body is best?I've already booked it just need to decide where to have it.thoughts please or any other suggestions/designs(I love tats).x

A. I've always thought a really sexy place was like... hmm, trying to explain this place haha.. on the hip bone? Like right above the hip and a little off to the side of the bellybutton, below it a bit? Haha I don't know if that makes sense, but I wanna get the infinity symbol there on me. :) I think it'd look so coool lol.

Where is a good spot for a tattoo of stars for a woman?
Q. I want a grouping of stars for my next tattoo. I have no idea where I want to get them. I thought of my hip as one place but now I might want to get it on my upper shoulder. Also if anyone has any tattoos of stars let me know. thanks

A. Get them across your lower back, up one of your sides, and end on the back of your neck.. I would totally do this if i was a woman. Like a star trail.

Really just make sure you pick a spot that you will be happy with forever.
