Tattooed people: do you prefer to date others with tattoos or does it not matter?

Q. Just seeing what the preferences are. Tattooed and non-tattooed weigh in. Do you have a preference?

A. I love my girlfriend to death and I wouldn't trade her for the world. Buuuut she has no tattoos, and I find tattoos on a woman to be a major turn on (especially a shoulder piece or half sleeve or a rib piece) but I guess obviously I don't need a woman with a tattoo(s). She said her getting a tattoo would be like putting a bumper sticker on a Ferrari lol.

What is the best place to put a tattoo for a woman?
Q. I have been wanting a tattoo for years and am considering getting one or two, but I an not scared of what ill pick but of where it should go?? What are some good places, in your opinion, that look cute and wont look tacky as i grow older?
(it's not going to be big, smallish medium)
What things would be cool and never outdate?

A. I have one on the back of my neck ( that I can hide with my hair down ), and one on the small of my back. I think those are pretty good places because I can hide them if need be. The one on the back of my neck hardly hurt, but the lower back one hurt like hell.

Don't be surprised when you pick the art work and it ends up looking much bigger on your body than it does on that piece of paper or board. So keep that in mind when you choose one.

Good luck!!

Does anyone know the significance of this tatt?

Q. http://pinterest.com/pin/138696863495069538/

A. People wear the feather tattoo to represent their Native American heritage or to get in touch with their spiritual side. Eagle feathers were given to warriors in the tribe as a symbol of bravery, courage, and honor. Feathers can also be associated with those who have passed away.
One of the most common feather tattoo designs is the single feather tattoo. In many cases, the feather may actually be from a specific bird. When this is the case, the tattoo design usually has symbolic meaning from the feather and the specific bird. Some of the most common feathers used is the eagle feather, peacock feather, egret feather, ostrich feather, swallow feather, and the turkey feather.

One of the more common meanings of the feather tattoo is "freedom". Most of us have been outside when a bird feather would fly by in the wind. This is reference to where the meaning comes from. Feather tattoos in a traditional sense are usually done in black or grey. The peacock feather is a popular choice among women due to all the beautiful colors of its feathers.

The word "diamond" is Greek in origin and symbolizes "invincible". And it could be her birth stone.

Experienced in hair coloring?
Q. My mom is a hair dresser and I love my hair. I want it this brown color. http://pinterest.com/pin/493144227917089670/ this is what I want it to look like. My hair is dirty blond with natural light blond highlights in front. Should i color it. When It comes ou tI do not want it to show. I am scared I will not like it. How can I see what I look like realisticly with brown hair? Helppp please!!!! I need all my questions answered. SHould I die it I am not sure....Will I not like how it looks when it grows out? what if I do not like it?

A. "My mom is a hair dresser and I love my hair." Your mom should have hair coloring experienced, as well. Ask her! If not . . . .
Call the 1-800# found on the box of dye or email them, (to find #, go online & search the brand if you don't have the box) they're the hair color experts they can advice you best.

Style meets chemistry meets biology: We're talking hair coloring.

Playing with chemicals is not like playing with clothes, or doing a manicure, there are penalties for playing chemicals in the lab. Even hair color experts at the salon are not rocket scientists, they do a bang up dye jobs to their clients or their own hair.

Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.

Google: Teen 'feared she would die' after reaction to hair dye
The allergic reaction was caused by a well-known brand of semi-permanent hair dye Chloe used to turn her hair black for a Hallowe’en party. . . . . called for beauty bosses to ban hair dye chemical PPD (para-phenylenediamine) from the shelves. 11-04-11

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. It’s made from coal tar and is used in both permanent and semi-permanent hair colours. It’s well-known to be a cause of serious allergic reactions -- including something called contact dermatitis which can lead to rashes, blisters, and open sores.
PPD is sometimes added to black henna tattoos and that using them is not safe. Allergic reactions usually begin within two to 10 days following application. One bad reaction can lead to sensitivities to other products such as hair dye, sunblock and some types of clothing dyes. Oftentimes, it's using the product a second or third time.

Google: A 38-year old mother left in a coma after using hair dye. SHE DYED HER HAIR MANY TIMES BEFORE, USING THE SAME BRAND. The British woman who went into coma after a reaction to hair dye has died after a year. Updated 11-25-12. The woman suffered a heart failure, struggled for breath and became unconsciousness. Her family blamed paraphenylenediamine, a chemical found in hair colour. Her family has now called for paraphenylenediamine to be banned from home dye kits. In 2000, a 38-year-old Indian-origin woman from Birmingham, Narinder Devi, died after an allergic reaction to hair dye.

Permanent black hair dye is linked to causing leukemia and lymphomas.

When it comes to hair care treatments, product use or visits to a salon or spa, the consumer must take responsibility to do their homework and be aware of all the risks involved.
Vanessa Minnillo Lachey: "I dated a guy once who wanted me to have blonde hair. Clearly, he was the wrong guy for me! I went to a lady who bleached my hair and it literally fell out. So, not only did I go back to my natural hair, I broke up with the guy!"
Another example posted on YA! 8-20-12. Is it just me or does xxl live max blonde make your scalp feel like it on fire? I've recently used a max blonde on my hair and I had to wash it wash off straight away because my scalp felt like it was on fire has this happend to anyone else?

A WOMAN was temporarily blinded when her face swelled up "like a football" following what she told was a severe reaction to hair dye.
Carmen Rowe, 25, from Swansea was hospitalised for three days after using the Clairol 'Nice n' Easy' natural black colour. She said: "I lost my job, all for the sake of a glamorous hairstyle. I just want to warn parents what could happen." She claimed she carried out a skin test 48 hours before using the dye without a problem and has been colouring her hair since she was 13. Example of one who's hair is falling and stopped growing from YA!:
"my hair had been bleached many times and can't grow past a certain length
its also falling out . i stopped bleaching it.
i just need to add lenght! but if i can stop it from falling out..that be great too"

How many people do you know regret their tattoos?

Q. and what was there tattoo and wear?

A. Almost all of the people I know who have tattoos regret at least some of them. I have sons who got tattoos on their arms while in the military. They feel that the tattoos no longer reflect who they are. In other words, what was cool at 20 isn't cool at 40.

I also know some young women (three) who got tattoos on their ankles a few years ago and now regret the tattoo that they picked. They're not sorry that they got the tattoo, but wish they'd picked something else.

What do men think of women with tattoos?
Q. I am 40 and single. My tattoos are in places where they are concealed & are mostly religious in nature. I just don't understand why its such a thing.

A. This is personal preference. Some tattoos are quite beautiful but I think tattoos in general belong in the category of "less is more." Some people disagree and have large, bold, blatant and inappropriate tattoos that I don't consider attractive. I also find that too many tattoos are boring in design, careless in execution and ultimately lackluster in appearance due to aging (both of the person and the tattoos).

Do tattoo magazines except photos from anyone?

Q. I just did a pin up/ tattoo type photoshoot. I am wondering if it would be weird to send a few 8X10s to tattoo magazines, and ask if they would be interested in using my photo. I've never done this before and just wanted some background info.

A. No. And don't send anything before asking. Not weird, but your work could end up in the trash.
I'd suggest you e mail or write them to ask if they accept photos from readers. Some do, most don't. You also need to write up a contract as to how your photos will be used, as well as a model release for the woman who posed for you.

How do I write the word vegetarian in Elven?
Q. It's a strange and odd request, but I'm looking to get this word (or something close to it) tattooed on me. I've been a vegetarian for 22 years now (my entire life), and a huge fan of Tolken. So, if anyone can help me out, it'd be fantastic.

A. Due to the incompleteness of Tolkien's Elven languages I recommend to use a simple transcription of the English word to Tengwar (one of his scripts).
Here is one possible way to write it:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/32039090@N02/8287668894/in/photostream
You can check the letters with:
http://at.mansbjorkman.net/teng_general_english.htm
or http://www.acondia.com/fonts/tengwar/info/english.htm
Please note that I wrote G as J [dʒ], like it is spoken.

In Tolkien's Elven languages my first thought would go to something that might be construed as an insult, depending on how you see yourself. This is due to the difficulty expressing this idea in an incomplete language.

Sindarin (Grey-Elven):
Lassvador (masc.), Lassvadeth (fem.) -> leaf-eater -> lass - leaf + mad- - to eat; here mutated to vad- + -or - male name ending/-eth - female name ending (=woman)
Galasvador/Galasvadeth -> plant-eater -> galas - growth, plant
Galasben -> plant-somebody -> galas + pen - one, somebody; mut. ben
Dictionary: http://www.jrrvf.com/hisweloke/sindar/online/english.html (see A1 and A2)
Grammar: http://folk.uib.no/hnohf/sindarin.htm

Quenya (High-Elven):
Laimamatindo (masc.), Laimamatinde (fem.) -> plant-eater -> laima - plant + mat- - to eat + -indo/-inde - "doer" (person connected to the verbal action)
Laimamo (m.), Laimame (f.) -> plant-person -> laima + -mo/-me - person connected to the noun
Dictionaries:

http://www.ambar-eldaron.com/telechargements/quenya-engl-A4.pdf
Grammar: http://folk.uib.no/hnohf/quenya.htm

If you come up with any (better) ideas and aren't sure about the grammar or want to see them in Tengwar, or if you have any questions about this, feel free to send me a message.

What do women covered in tatoos do when they get old?

Q. With tattoos that can't be covered up like all over the arms and legs? Like those girls from LA Ink and stuff. They are going to look horrible at 80 years of age.

A. So you shouldn't enjoy the tattoo for 60 years just because it will look bad at 80? Hell not everyone makes it to 80.

Any ideas for a tattoo that symbolizes what my past is about?
Q. When I was younger I used to self harm and had suicidal thoughts. Now that has changed I'm looking for a tattoo to cover up a my scars because I want to join the army. I am a woman and I want something that has a feminine touch to it not too girly. I'm looking into maybe a tree or flower of some sort.. I am thinking about placing it from my thigh till maybe curving up to the side of my waist though I haven't decided. Fyi I am from Mexican descent if that helps any

A. I thought maybe a sugar skull, because they represent death (which could be associated with your suicidal thoughts. And they're from a Mexican origin) and something that represents your change of view in life: maybe a flower, or a tree, with the roots twisting around the skull and blooming above it, to represent your strength and growth.

How to cover up back of the forearm quote tattoo.?

Q. I got a arabic quote tattoo the length of the back of my forearm and it got translated incorrectly so I always have people who speak arabic telling me its wrong. I have no idea how to cover it up. I also have a tattoo covering my inner forearm. I am a young woman..

A. Get the correct translation to an Arab tattoo artist and see if they can fix it because the Arabic calligraphy is very flexible and easily manipulated so it might work.

Good luck.

what are your ideas on me having this tattoo?
Q. I want a quote on my tattoo "let all that you do be done in love" , but next or above it I want an image of a woman with a bare back holding up her hair with her hands and a tattoo on the same place as mine. So I will have a tattoo of my tattoed self , means the tattoo was also done with love. What do you think?

A. It's a good idea, but it wont be a small tattoo. To tattoo a tattoo on a tattoo the image has to be very large or it wont work. It would have to be a full back piece, but it would be a one of a kind tattoo.

What is the underlying psychology behind the desire to get tattoo's?
Q. As tattoo's are painful, a little risky, and more or less permanent, I suspect there is some sort of insecurity/attention seeking psychology at work. What are your thoughts?

A. It's a matter of identification with a tribal mindset. Tattoo's have been with us forever it seems.
Right now it is a fad to extremes. It is cheaper and more efficient than in the past and the culture in society has opened the door to women as well. Although the art is very popular today I can't see it going on for more than a decade before the novelty of it all wears thin.
Too bad for the ones who mark their flesh these days. Many of them will regret it in their older years and some will pay a lot of money to get rid of them.
The problem is that the red ink used in tattooing cannot be eradicated without taking the flesh off. The rest of the inks can be laser cleaned.

Help! How do we get those ugly people off the Yahoo email page?

Q. You know what pictures I'm talking about: That woman holding that really ugly baby, the woman with tattoos all over her arms (those are fake, by the way. NO ONE would put Yahoo and Facebook tattoos on their arms), and that dweeb with the glasses and long nose. Whenever I log in and these people come onto my screen, I want to vomit! Will someone tell me how to get them off the Yahoo Mail page?

A. My picture changes to a Chevy SUV and of course the tattoed woman. Click Keep me signed in for 2 weeks and you won't have to look at them so often. We can't get rid of it, it's Yahoo's programming. If you sign in every 2 weeks then all you have to do in enter your password and you are in.

Is 2 upper arm tattoos on a woman a bit much?

Q. I have 11 total one on my left upper arm about 9 inches and 1 on my rt forearm about 6 inches I to get another one but feel it may be a bit much. I was thinking other forearm or bicep a scroll and 7-8 inches thoughts?

A. I don't think that it would be too much. Just remember that you do have other skin, and take into account having the tattoo on any part of your body and seriously consider all of your options. That really helps me decide on where to put it. But if you are set on your arm then go right ahead. It is your arm after all, nobody else's.

What is the tackiest tattoo you have ever seen?
Q. Forget the damn butterflies, the black (terribly drawn) panther on the calve or the double hearts on the upper arm. I've seen plenty of tacky tattoos, but the tackiest of all was a woman with a Tweety tattoo (not kidding!) Can you top this one?

A. One of my friends has the "Your name" tattoo on his butt. His mom has a rose tattooed on her right breast and shows it to anybody who asks to see it.Not just the tattoo but the whole breast. The tackiest however. One of my coworkers has a vagina tattoo on his neck.He has to wear turtlenecks when we have company visit the plant so he doesnt offend anyone.

What accounts for a constant presence referred to as a "conscious" and why does it seek purely moral interests?

Q. Genetics? God? There have been experiments to determine whether or not this is a chemical process related to our decision-making and emotion parts of the brain. As these have yet to provide anything conclusive relating to whether it is or isn't a chemical reaction (unfortunately, we do not have the technology) this question is entirely philosophical.

Your presumption would be correct, but unfortunately Yahoo Answers will not allow me to edit my original question.

How are tattoos on the rib cage looked at for men?

Q. So I'm a total tattoo newbie. I'd like to get something in the next year or so and have been thinking about placement. It's a stupid question, but like I know that there are some places on the body that are generally reserved for women, such as the lower back, around the belly button, sometimes the feet, etc. Is the rib cage generally an asexual location? For whatever reason I really like the looks of a rib cage tattoo, especially if they're kind of bigger.

A. I have both my sides, up to my ribs tattooed, I love it haha. And it looks great on guys!! I personally think that spot tattooed on anyone is attractive and awesome! Does hurt though ;]

What kinds of tattoos look good on inner forearm of a woman?

Q. Im running out of room! All the places i have tattoos now can be hidden. I want one that will show and i want my next one on my inner forearm but haven't seen a lot of women with them.
what seems more like a good idea. A picture or a quote?
Or any other helpful suggestions?

A. I have a tattoo on my wrist/inner fore-arm.

It's a flower and I'm adding a hummingbird to it...it looks great on me. And it goes about halfway up my forearm, but the hummingbird wil take up more room. It is a cover-up of an original butterfly that was home-made and looked ghetto as f.

I'm also going to potentially get a sleeve, and if I do that, I am getting two skeletons (bride and groom) with day of the dead makeup on my inner forearm to flow into my gypsy skull on my left upper arm...

Meaningful Tattoo ideas for the upper arm on a woman?
Q. I like the look of upperarm tattoos on woman. Not a whole sleeve, but just the upper part. I was looking at some but I have no idea what I want because I want it to be meaningful but I cant think of anything. What are ideas? if you have any tattoos what are they? No rude comments please. If you have a problem with tattoos then dont even bother wasting your time on trying to change my mind because your not going to. Thanks!

A. I think that stars with designs & Pixie dust would be so pretty.
Flowers with vines.
Cut out of stars w/ pixie dust.

What does everyone think of tattoos on the side of the arm?

Q. I have been wanting a tattoo similar to Sahar from the Real World New Orelans and Elina from ANTM cycle 11. I think it looks delicate and feminine, but I don't know if it will always look good. What do you think?

A. I think their tattoos are really good and they will always look good. But I would like to recommend you some other tattoo designs because tattoo designs must be unique, you don't need to copy their tattoo. If you are looking for some feminine & delicate tattoo designs then in my view butterfly and fairy look good on arms. Let's see on this girl having a wonderful tattoos of butterfly on her arm. we think Both women and butterflies have wonderful, curvy forms. They both have delicate, soft texture and are very pleasing to the eye. Tattoo of butterflies can be any size is also important.

What are discriminations that a woman that has full body tattoos goes thru?

Q. im doing something on stereotyping for a specific group of people and i decided to do it on women that are fully tattooed because i believe some actual live a normalish life. i just want feed back thanks!
not just full body tattoos maybe just plenty of visible tattoos....

A. i am a chica with a full back piece that's obviously visible during summer months due to me wearing tank tops, etc... i also have a few small visible tattoos on my arms/hands.

i also am a mother.

i get weird looks all the time, but more so i am surprised at the amount of compliments/questions i get from people who you would never think were interested.

i feel sometimes people may find me intimidating, uneducated, or just a wild child due to my tattoos... add some brightly colored hair to the mix (like i used to have.. hehe) and the scowls are even more frequent. i am, of course, none of the above... just someone who likes "skin art"... as in all walks of life, from the cute un-tattooed girl who drives the escalade, to the fully tattooed dude on a motorcycle, there will always be stereotypes.

How do I explain to these older men to stop bashing this woman with tattoos?
Q. I, myself, have several tattoos, and I'm quite offended when they are (behind this woman's back) bashing her for having a sleeve. Personally, I love it. I think it's amazing and great art work.

How do I explain to them that times have changed?

A. Yeah, you know what? I had to come down hard on the wife the other day. She was all making fun of Amy's (she's my GF! She's, umm, a couple years younger and stuff) tramp stamp, as she called it, and I said, HEY! Why do you have to go getting all bizzitchy about Amy when you are so lame in bed? Amy knows how to rock the springs!! And then she gave me this look like she was gonna kill me so I kind of took off running. That was last night and I haven't been home since. So it isn't just older men making nasty comments about tats. Just hope Amy doesn't find out I'm homeless now.

Is it alright if my sister gets a tattoo whilst pregnant?

Q. My sister is 35 weeks pregnant, and wanted a tattoo on her hand or wrist, would the tattooist actually do the tattoo, and will it affect her baby?

A. No. Absolutely not a good idea at any stage of pregnancy.

A pregnant woman's body is under a lot of pressure as is, so there's multitudes of reasons why tattooing a pregnant woman is a bad idea. Tattooing is a traumatic event on the body, and causes all sorts of reactions on healthy non-pregnant people. Why anyone would put a pregnant woman in that position would be pure stupidity. Tattooing releases endorphins and other chemicals into the blood stream, increasing heart rate and stress - both very bad things for an expecting mother. Normal healthy people pass out getting a tattoo on a regular basis, and shocks to the system like that could cause premature labor and other things I don't want to find out. And on the rare occasion that an infection could occur, it would take vital resources from the womb and could spread enough to harm the baby.

Just don't do it, no one NEEDS to get a tattoo right this second.

Edit - Just to be clear, BBP's such as AIDS, Hep and HIV are a very minimal, almost non existent risk with a professional shop. The CDC has no documented cases of HIV transmition from tattooing since it began tracking the industry in 1985 and only 10 or 12 Hep cases every year. From a the CDC's report, it's safer to get a tattoo than visit the dentist.

What is a good place for a last name tattoo on women?
Q. So my dilemma is that I have 9 tattoos already. I have one on my foot, one on my ankle, one on the side of my leg, one on my wrist, one on each boob, one behind my ear, one on my shoulder and one on the back of my neck. I have plans to get a half sleeve on my right arm, and a tree and a date on on my right wrist. Now if you're gunna tell me tattoos are trashy go right ahead. I really do not care what you think, I just want opinions. I am not going to base my decision solely on the answers I receive on here. I have some ideas of my own as to where to get it, I just would like to see what other people think. All my tattoos have some sort of meaning to me, I don't get a tattoo just for the sake of getting a tattoo. The reason I have chose my last name is because no matter what it will always be apart of me. Even if I get married I will still have a connection to my last name.
If you're going to give me stupid answers don't even bother answering. Grow up.

A. People can be so rude and opinionated about tattoos these days. As long as they mean something to you, it doesn't matter what anyone else says

For a name tattoo it depends on how the writing style is going to be. Personally if I were to do my last name I would have it written like this
L
A
S
T
N
A
M
E

down the side of my back, just on the edge of being on the side.
Then I could add swirl and shadow accents around the edges going downward (helps elongate my body shape as I am quite petite)

What is The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo about?

Q. So I've been watching the trailer for it and I'm really interested in it now. But it's looks really confusing reminds me of the movie Inception. I plan on going to see it when it comes out (December 21, 2011). But I want to know who is this girl with the tattoo, does she have some type of power or something? What does she do?

A. December 2002. Mikael Blomkvist, publisher of the Swedish political magazine Millennium, loses a libel case involving allegations about billionaire industrialist Hans-Erik Wennerström. He is sentenced to three months in prison, and ordered to pay hefty damages and costs. Soon afterwards, he is invited to meet Henrik Vanger, the retired CEO of the Vanger Corporation, unaware that he had commissioned an investigation into Blomkvist's personal and professional history. This was carried out by Lisbeth Salander, a surveillance agent with Milton Security.
Blomkvist is promised considerable financial reward and solid evidence against Wennerström, in exchange for writing the Vanger family history. Vanger believes that his greatneice, Harriet, was murdered by a member of the family 36 years earlier. Blomkvist moves to the Vanger estate and becomes immersed in the history of Harriet's disappearance.
Salander, who was ruled legally incompetent as a child, is under the care of legal guardian Holger Palmgren, but he has a stroke. Her new guardian, Nils Bjurman, is a sadist who uses his position to sexually abuse her in return for access to her own money. After he rapes her, Salander takes her revenge by torturing him and threatening to ruin him unless he gives her full control of her finances.
Blomkvist discovers Salander has hacked into his computer, and persuades her to assist him with researching Harriet's disappearance. Together they uncover decades of buried evidence, and they begin to suspect that they are on the trail of a serial killer. They have sexual intercourse, but the antisocial Salander keeps Blomkvist at a distance emotionally, refusing to give herself fully.
Blomkvist discovers that the killer is Martin Vanger, who tells him that his father initiated him when he was a teenager. He admits to murdering dozens of women, but denies killing his sister. Martin takes Blomkvist prisoner and nearly kills him, only for Salander to arrive just in time to save him. Martin is killed in a car accident while escaping Salander's pursuit. Salander's hacker acquaintance, Plague, sets up a phone tap on Anita Vanger's home in London. This proves that Harriet is alive, and located in Australia. Blomkvist flies over alone to find Harriet, because Salander's mother has just died. Harriet tells Blomkvist that her father and brother sexually abused her for years, and that she went into hiding because she killed her father. With Martin dead, she returns to Sweden, where she reunites with her great-uncle, who makes plans for her to take the position of CEO of the Vanger Corporation. Blomkvist accompanies Salander at the funeral.
Blomkvist is furious when he learns that the evidence against Wennerström that Vanger promised him is useless. However Salander has already hacked Wennerström's computer and has discovered that his crimes go far beyond what Blomkvist documented. Using her evidence, Blomkvist prints an exposé and book which ruins Wennerström and catapults Millennium to national prominence. Salander, using her phenomenal skill with computer hacking, succeeds in stealing more than a quarter of a billion dollars from Wennerström's secret bank account. Blomkvist and Salander spend Christmas together in his holiday retreat and their sexual relationship continues. At the end of the year, she goes to Blomkvist's home with her Christmas present for him, but sees him with Berger and flees. She had intended declaring her love for him.
As a post script, Salander continues to monitor Wennerstrom and after six months, anonimously informs a lawyer in Miami of his whereabouts. He is found in Marbella, dead, shot three times in the head.

What does the Bible say about gay marriage?
Q. Yes, I do understand that all Christians think gay marriage is wrong.
And that God made man and woman in the beginning but what exactly does the Bible say?
I mean, it's very hard to believe that God would create people and not allow them to be happy. I'm sure he wants everyone to be happy.

A. Nothing

Christianity attracts a small contingency (whom everyone should ignore) of nasty people who simply use the religion to justify expressing hatred towards others when in fact the essence of christianity encourages/demands tolerance, love and respect.

Jesus says nothing about same-sex behavior. The Jewish prophets are silent about homosexuality. Only six or seven of the Bible’s ONE MILLION VERSES refer to same-sex behavior in any way — and none of these verses refer to homosexual orientation as it’s understood today.

Jesus and five Old Testament prophets all speak of the sins that led to the destruction of Sodom — and not one of them mentions homosexuality.

Listen to what Ezekiel 16:48-49 tell us: “This is the sin of Sodom; she and her suburbs had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not help or encourage the poor and needy.”

It was common for soldiers, thieves, and bullies to rape a fallen enemy, asserting their victory by dehumanizing and demeaning the vanquished. This act of raping an enemy is about power and revenge, not about homosexuality or homosexual orientation.

Leviticus is a holiness code written 3,000 years ago. This code includes many of other outdated sexual laws (like stoning adulterers and brides who are not virgins, and executing a married couple for having sex during the woman’s period), and a lot more. It also includes prohibitions against round haircuts, tattoos, working on the Sabbath, wearing garments of mixed fabrics, eating pork or shellfish, getting your fortune told, and even playing with the skin of a pig. (There goes football!)

So what’s a holiness code? It’s a list of behaviors that people of faith find offensive in a certain place and time. In this case, the code was written for priests only, and its primary intent was to set the priests of Israel over and against priests of other cultures.

What about this word abomination that comes up in both passages? In Hebrew, “abominations” (TO’EBAH) are behaviors that people in a certain time and place consider tasteless or offensive. To the Jews an abomination was not a law, not something evil like rape or murder forbidden by the Ten Commandments.
Jesus and Paul both said the holiness code in Leviticus does not pertain to Christian believers

Paul sees women having sex with women and men having sex with men, and he condemns that practice. But let’s go back 2,000 years and try to understand why.

Paul is writing this letter to Rome after his missionary tour of the Mediterranean. On his journey, Paul had seen great temples built to honor Aphrodite, Diana, and other fertility gods instead of the one true God the apostle honors. Apparently, these priests and priestesses engaged in some odd sexual behaviors — including castrating themselves, carrying on drunken sexual orgies, and even having sex with young temple prostitutes (male and female).

'The Bible is clear that sexuality is a gift from God. Our 'Creator' celebrates our passion. But the Bible is also clear that when passion gets control of our lives, we’re in TROUBLE"

As Rev. Dr. Louis B. Smedes, a distinguished Christian author and ethicist, explains: “The homosexuals that I know [have not] given up heterosexual passions for homosexual lusts. ... They did not change from one orientation to another; they just discovered that they were homosexual. It would be unnatural for most homosexuals to have heterosexual sex.”

How do Koreans view women with tattoos?

Q. Hello,

I am an American woman with tattoos- a chest piece, a few on my back, one on my shoulder, and a little bow tattoos on my calves. My question is- How do Koreans feel about tattoos, and is this feeling different towards women with tattoos. I am not asking to be ignorant, but because I will be teaching there in a few months and want to know incase someone might see that I have tattoos.

Thank you for your help:)

A. "In Korea, drawing a tattoo on others is illegal, whether for profit or for free." Since it is illegal, some people think that only criminals have them. Having said this, I have a friend who is an English teacher in a public school with tattoos. She was asked to cover them. As long as she is a native English speaker, a good teacher, and has a BA, she can work as an English teacher in Korea.
Koreans know that in other cultures tattoos are not as taboo as they are here.

What were popular tattoos during the korean war?
Q.

A. Ooooh, I know! Anchors, anchors and nude Spanish women. Anchors, nude Spanish women, and "MOM." You should totally get a classic tattoo, that would be SO "masculine."

How can one visually compensate for their lame personality?

Q. like say i'm totally lame... and to counteract this lameness, i was planning on getting five pairs of skinny jeans, some facial piercings, and a new haircut just like Oprah's...

do you think this is adequate to mask my lameness?.. is there anything else i could do to maximize my coolness?..

Social Science > Women's Studies > Oprah is God

A. *You soooo have to get a lower back tattoo and go see "Twilight." Doing those things should maximize your coolness..I think.

What does it signify about a woman if she's into erotic fantasy art--this seems to be a recent subculture?
Q. Similar to the new Twilight craze for teens only for women 25-45.

It's almost the equivalent of the modern day pin-up girl, but with a BDSM spin--dirty/edgy, heavy makeup, exotic lingerie, tattoos, wings, maybe some bondage and a sword. It's borderline porn but sells in American malls on calendars without restriction.

It almost seems like a subdued expression of lesbianism, but many or most of these women claim they're straight.

A. I only like that kind of artwork if there are a couple of subs in it to do her bidding. Otherwise, just a Domme by herself would not interest me. As Rio said, it's about putting yourself in the woman's place, not being with her yourself. I don't think I'd want a calendar like that, though, lol. I like my kittens and landscapes. ;-)

What features are considered beautiful for women in europe, america, and asia?

Q. What features women have are considered pretty within their environment and people? Every race has beautiful women.
I am talking about modern days even though the past does influence people's perspectives

A. Sadly globalisation deleted the big contrast between the feature to consider beautifull a women in the differents countries.
So your question is hard to answer but i'll try.
In general our ''features'' of beauty came from the greek , athletic people , muscles and no obesity.
Here in Europe we always say that for people who like blonde girls these girls must be tall , blue eyes and very curvy , for people who like dark haired girls we say that spanish and italiaans girls are the hottest. Brown hair , Green or bright brown eyes , tall , and atletics.
I heard that in america girls must be curvy , blonde and ''fashion'' to be considered as hot girls (but this is just what i heard and saw , i don't live in US so i can't tell you the exact truth)
In north africa mostly in Morocco girls are considered hot when they decorate their hands with ''tattoos (not real one) ''
In Asia I think that the girl must look very innocent almost like a doll , and must be very educated.
Then you have to consider that there are thousand of suburban cultures who destroy this ''features'' and create new one , often ispired by tribal cultures (piercing, tattoos ecc)

What is your opinion on tattoos and piercings on a woman?
Q. I read a comment, and someone said that they feel that tattoos and piercings make a woman look ugly and trashy, yet I have 3 tattoos and a belly button piercing .. ? And I don't feel trashy at all. Anyone else have an opinion?

A. everyone has their opinion and I've learned to not let those people get to me. You're always gonna have those who say we don't have respect for our bodies and that we look trashy, ALWAYS lol

personally I loooove tattoos I think they're hot lol and some are great pieces of art
I think piercings look good on some people

How does one get into the plus-size modeling business?
Q. I would assume its similar to breaking into the general modeling business, but I've heard its also a bit different. How so? Any recommended connections in the greater Boston area?

A. You need to consider a few things before pursuing such a career. There are requirements for plus size models, and they include height and size restrictions. You need to be at least 5’8” (5’10” is preferable in the bigger markets like NYC, Miami, L.A., London, etc) and fall between sizes 8 and 16/18. Yes, plus sizes start at size 8 as far as agencies are concerned. You need to be well-proportioned, toned and in good shape, have great skin, hair and teeth, and be quite photogenic - let's not forget - we're talking about MODELING. It also helps if you have few, if any, tattoos. If you have these things going for you, I encourage you to attend an open call at an agency near you that represents plus size models. You can find one by calling agencies that are listed in your local yellow pages and asking if they rep plus size girls, and then asking when their plus size open calls occur. You will need to get in front of an agent who will determine your marketability in this industry and advise you accordingly. Walk in wearing light makeup, simple but well-fitting clothing, and lose the high heels - they will know how tall you are so don't try to fudge it. Bring some simple shots of yourself that show your face and your full body - they don't need to be professional shots. They will look at your photos and will see your potential without all the makeup. You may be measured on the spot, or asked to be photographed in your underwear, so get rid of your inhibitions NOW.

You need to be in or near a large market – smaller towns don’t normally have modeling agencies, let alone plus size divisions. Your competition knows where to go, and they are going there, believe me. You can be stunningly beautiful, but if you can’t make it to an open call or casting because you live too far away and cannot travel at the drop of a hat, you definitely have a strike against you. Your competition is thrilled to know that you don't have the money for a bus ticket or that your car is in the shop - means more opportunity for them!

If you are marketable, the agent will ask you to do several test shoots that you have to pay for, so please be ready to spend money and time developing your look. Agencies do not typically pick up these fees – the model must do so. (You will need to spend money to get your career off the ground - modeling is not a get-rich-quick career. If you have kids and/or school to finish, you need to plan how you're going to balance it all.) You may be asked to cut/trim/color your hair, get manicures and pedicures and to hit the gym before the shoot. You will be given a list of photographers that you can call to schedule a shoot, and you will pay them directly. A good agency will never ask for money directly – it’s a transaction between you and the photog. If you want to get the most out of your test shoots, you should hire a makeup artist, hair stylist and fashion stylist to work on the shoot with you.

When your shots come back, your potential agent will see if you have what it takes, and then she/he will submit your photos to clients and see what kind of response you get. They usually submit a comp card, which is a collection of photos that you need to pay for, to the clients to get their feedback. There are no guarantees, and you will only work if clients like/need your look.

Please note: there is no such segment of the market called "specialty plus." That is a title that certain websites and companies (some present on the internet) have created in order to get girls who want to be models (but who do not fit model stats) to pose for their websites. There's no harm in it, except that it misleads women who want to be models into thinking that they can eventually work with agents. It's just not realistic. It also helps the photographers who shoot such girls make money off of them, of course, but it's rather disingenuous for such people to make money off of girls who will most likely not work within the industry. It's a great ego boost but girls without model stats won't work in the legit modeling industry.

You can visit the plus size modeling thread at www.curvychick.com and get advice from working models, photographers, stylists, makeup artists and others within the industry. Take any support you get with a grain of salt - there are plenty of women who will say that you've "got it," but they usually just want to be nice and not have a hand in dashing your dreams. I personally don't want a hand in misleading anyone. AND if someone says you don't really have it, don't take it personally - you're not being judged as a person, not on your looks, but on your marketability - if you can't take the heat you should find another career.

Good luck!

What happens when a woman hits her sexual peak?
Q. I have heard that men peak around 18 and women peak in their 30s. I'm sure it varies a bit from person to person, but that's supposed to be an average. So anyway, how does this sexual peak happen? Does she gradually become more of a sexual person? Does she want sex more and more as the days go by? Does it suddenly hit her one day? Is she frigid one day and a sex maniac the next day? Tell me what you know.

A. Women's big sexual peak is after their tattoos have faded, their eyes have gone from sparkly to hollow, and their chins are in need of shaving. They burst upon the sex express demanding an increase of coitus from the usual once a month to twice a month for all months containing an "R".

Laugh. It's too true. Laugh, don't argue. Words are useless in the face of experiences.

What are some good ideas for a patriotic tattoo for a woman?

Q. I want it to be kind of intricate, not just a flag or an eagle. It will most likely go on my shoulder or middle back. Nothing with blood. I would like it to be feminine.

A. Google "feminine patriotic tattoo"
The butterfly in the colors of the flag would be adorable on a woman.

Is it offensive that a women has a native American haida eagle tattoo?
Q. I have always loved the native american culture for a long time now I have liked the look of the haida eagle symbol. Is it usually a ''man'' thing to have? as it represents strength etc....

A. It represents strength? Who told you that? An actual Haida? Did you ask the artist's permission to get their rendering as a tattoo....or were you just going to pick some flash off the wall....? Did you contact the tribe itself, to ask about taboos or if they would be offended?

If you are worried about being offensive, do these things. If you aren't worried, go get the tattoo, but don't be surprised when you get odd looks from actual Natives.

Guys and lesbians are you attracted to women with tattoos?
Q. Do people find women with tattoos attractive? Or are tatoos really only suited to men?

A. I'm a lesbian and it doesn't seem like I would like it, but I actually find it pretty attractive on women (if they don't overdo it at least). It makes them look really sexy in my opinion. ;)

Comparing the pain of a tattoo to childbirth?

Q. I was a little curious, I hear women comparing tattoos to childbirth constantly, and was wondering which is really more painful? I have a tattoo on my neck, and I was just curious. Thanks! :)

Oh & by the way, I know it's a totally different 'kind' of pain, but I thought women compared them so much because they both have good outcomes, something you're looking forward to. (Of course, a baby is MUCH more to look forward to than a tattoo!) Haha.

A. I have never had a tattoo so I can't really say, but I cannot imagine how a large muscle contraction could be compared to a tiny, localized pain of a needle / scratching / burning feeling.

I usually compare the pain of contractions with the burning and pain you feel when a muscle does hard work, like your legs if you ran a marathon. This, coupled with the low back achy cramp of intense menstrual pain.

The birth itself (crowning) if you don't have any local anesthetic or epidural is referred to as the "ring of fire" for a reason, as there is an intense burning when the tissue starts to stretch. But endorphins and adrenaline kick in shortly and help dull the sensation, as well as the blood supply to the nerves gets cut off from the stretch. And you're so excited that you're so close by that point that you're just focused on getting that baby out, so the distraction helps dull pain too.

How important is "originality" in a tattoo design?
Q. Check out this quote from an interview with Pat Fish (a woman tattoo artist world famous for her Celtic designs). It came out in 2003:

"College students cast about for something with meaning. The great default is something written in Japanese. It's low commitment, and they can feel wicked and tattooed. Frankly, a tiny kanji looks better than a miniscule rose. We call those 'zits on sticks.' The most common tattoo we do, besides kanji, is suns. Especially on girls' lower backs. For the last four or five years, we've done at least one a day. I hung a sign on the front door of my house that says, 'This is the bungalow that suns on butt cracks bought.'" ......

"We work out of files. I have a file of just suns. That way, I don't have to keep drawing the same thing. After the customer looks at 500 different suns, one-third will pick the same sun. It's the logo for this generation—Leo Zulueta's tribal sun. Then they can make it even more meaningful by putting a kanji in the center! My mantra about that is, 'The baker doesn't complain when the muffins sell well.' So, if we bake another dozen kanji, we're happy to do it!"
(source: http://www.luckyfish.com/controversial.html)

Hmmm...What’s the “logo” for THIS generation?

Here is the artist’s cynical viewpoint. Most are probably sick of doing the same “unoriginal” pieces. (Earlier in this article she says “That’s what employees are for!”)

But there is also a value in the standard design; everyone needs to be familiar with it so its “standard” meaning comes across. If every traffic light used different colors to mean “stop” and “go,” it would be really confusing.

Your thoughts?
I walked by Pat Fish's shop today (it's really close to my house) and peeked in....there is a whole HUGE wall of kanji flash, with the meanings of each character! I can really sympathize with her cynical attitude, but this just made the shop look really bad!

A. I completely feel sorry for tattoo artists who do 3-4 tramp stamps a day. As a piercing apprentice I feel as if I might scream every time some generic girl comes in to get either her tongue, her belly button, or both pierced. You can't blame people though, we're all victims trying to look cool. Some of us might not go out and get tattooed on a whim, but we will express it in other ways.

How bad does a rib cage tattoo hurt?
Q. I'm a chubby girl and I'm planning to get this tattoo on my right rib cage

http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_kzafpbJWl41qa3igco1_400.jpg

how bad will it hurt?

A. Tattoos hurt no matter what. Anyone who says they don't is boldface lying. How badly a tattoo hurts varies on person to person. For me for instance, I sat like a champ for my ribs and foot, but cried like a little b**** on my back. When going to get your tattoo, or thinking about one, pain factor should be the LEAST of your concerns. If you want it bad enough, believe me, you'll sit for it. The picture you provided looks like its just ALOT OF BLACK. Which, because of the nature of having to "pack" the color in there, can be legitimately more painful, then lets say, if you were getting a black and grey shaded piece in the same area. Don't worry about how bad it will hurt, if you want it, you'll sit for it.

Here's what you should do: Make an appointment. Don't just go be a "walk-in" for something like your ribs, unless you are (and even if you are) heavily tattooed, there is a certain amount of mental preparation required for what people fail to recogonize is a PROCEDURE.

The day/night before your appointment, make sure you rest. Stock up on plenty of your vitamins, eat well, don't drink or engage in drug use and get a good nights sleep! If you're having a stressful day, it might be in your best interest to reschedule your apointment. I cannot tell you the countless times I have seen customers come in all stressed out from a days work or whatnot who go to sit for a tattoo and simply cannot take it. Mind you, these are customers whom I've watched sit for HOURS on a good day.

If you are a woman, (as I am as well) I HIGHLY reccomend not getting tattooed a week before/during/after your period. I'm telling you, it simply hurts more. Serotonin, the chemical in your brain that deals with things like emotion/hunger/etc also deals with PAIN. During your mentrual cycle, your hormones are all out of whack, affecting neurotransmitters in your brain such as, serotonin. I'm telling you, it just hurts more.

Hope that helped, and good luck on your tattoo!

Where would a tattoo of roman numerals look good on a woman?

Q. I'm considering in the [near] future getting a tattoo done of roman numerals. Yes, these numbers mean something important to me. I'm not sure exactly where to get them. I've been tossing around either on my rib cage or on my back right/left shoulder blade.

Where do you think a roman numeral tattoo would look good on a woman? I'm up for any suggestions.

A. Well, that depends on the woman, the numerals, and their overall artistic design, really. Also, placement would be key. The ribcage area actually sounds lovely, if you're looking for a larger piece. No doubt it will be painful, but tattoos will be uncomfortable to get, no matter where you get them...you might as well get one where you really want it -- and, wouldn't mind seeing there permanently. Some of the most beautiful tattoos I've ever seen have been along someone's side, across their ribs.

If you'd like a smaller piece, I like the inside of the wrist and the lowest base of the neck, right above the center of the shoulder blades.

POLL Guys: Do you like your woman with tattoos or without?
Q. I am a female with three tattoos and i'm tattooing my rib cage in a few days. I'm nervous because i'm a small girl!

A. Oh god yes

How painful is a tattoo on your forehead?

Q. Don't give me a speech or preach about tattoo on my forehead I want it a little above the between of my eyes a simple stick cross. How painful would this be?

A. I answer these questions related to pain in the same way every time.

The pain in different places differs from person to person, pain threshold does have a lot of input but, for example, my chest tattoo didn't hurt at all, where as some people I know said their chest tattoo hurt a lot!

Anyway, here's a basic pain level chart I always reffer people to.

Pain level 1
These include the upper arm, forearm, calf, Bum, and Thigh. For a 1st tattoo these are great points to begin your inked journey.

Pain level 2
These include the centre back, front / side of thighs and shoulders. This is also not too bad a start for your first tattoo. The shoulders and central back region can be area that require quite a lot of movement. The skin on these areas is much looser meaning it takes longer to tattoo and also longer to heal. On areas that have lots of movement such as these, require more care once a tattoo is completed. Due to the thigh area being quite a dense muscle mass and also quite tight skin, it may tend to bruise the day after.

Pain level 3
These include the knees, elbows, hands, head, neck, feet, chest and back of thighs. Beginners beware of starting at these areas. You would need to be determined to have tattoos here as the high sensitivity would require a lot of mental focus to get you through. The poor quality of skin on both the knees and elbows will result in a very slow tattoo process and nerves are very close to the surface in these areas. This could result in the tattooing being unbearable for any length of time for some people. As with the orange areas these tend to be high movement areas and will require a longer healing timescale. You may find that to achieve a good solid colour, you may have to repeat the tattoo process on these areas. As a side note the chest area on men can be much more sensitive to pain than a woman, yet due to the tighter skin on a male, the tattoo can be completed quicker.

Pain level 4 (OWCHIE!)
Areas include hips, ribcage, stomach, back of knees, armpit, inside of elbow, nipples, lips, inside of thighs and genitals. Are you really sure you want to get that tattoo? As these areas can elicit crying, half finished tattoos or even the customer passing out. This could just be more than you may be able to handle. All of these purple areas are considered by most to be the most painful areas to be tattooed. The stretchy or thin skin over bone are slow to tattoo, some of these may require multiple sessions to achieve solid colour and smooth shading. Healing can be just as painful as receiving the tattoo and may require a few days off from your regular activities.

SOME USEFUL TIPS WHEN GETTING A TATTOO:

•Women are your more sensitive the week prior to and during your cycle. Plan around those dates to have the best experience possible when getting your tattoo.
•Use lotion everyday on the area to be tattooed at least 1 week prior for healthier skin and better results.
•Do not go out in the sun at least one week prior to being tattooed (including tanning beds) This drys the skin and if peeling occurs could damage the tattoo.
•Consider what you will wear for 2 weeks while healing if your tattoo is in an area like the foot, waist, shoulders or chest. Shoes, waistbands, belts, underwear, and bras can all damage tattoos if you do not plan ahead. Find comfortable clothing that will not touch or rub during this time.
•Always eat a good meal before being tattooed and drink plenty of fluids.
•Be sure to get a good nights rest before your appointment.
•Ask what kind of aftercare products you will need when you set up to get your tattoo.
•Mention any allergies you may have, pigments, dyes, perfumes.
•Some medication may thin your blood, check with your doctor before being tattooed.
•Anyone with an autoimmune disorder needs to check with their doctor and should bring a note to be tattooed.

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. PPD is sometimes added to black henna tattoos and that using them is not safe. Allergic reactions usually begin within two to 10 days following application.
