What does the Hummingbird mean and symbolize?

Q. I am planning to get a hummingbird tattoo.. but i want to know the true meaning and what it really symbolizes. It was hard for me to find meanings, so maybe you'll have better luck. Thanks!

A. There are many folklore myths about the Hummingbird most are Native American. Here are just a few:

Mayan legend says the hummingbird is actually the sun in disguise, and he is trying to court a beautiful woman, who is the moon.

Another Mayan legend says the first two hummingbirds were created from the small feather scraps left over from the construction of other birds. The god who made the hummers was so pleased he had an elaborate wedding ceremony for them. First butterflies marked out a room, then flower petals fell on the ground to make a carpet; spiders spun webs to make a bridal pathway, then the sun sent down rays which caused the tiny groom to glow with dazzling reds and greens. The wedding guests noticed that whenever he turned away from the sun, he became drab again like the original gray feathers from which he was made.

A third Mayan legend speaks of a hummingbird piercing the the tongue of ancient kings. When the blood was poured on sacred scrolls and burned, divine ancestors appeared in the smoke.

An Apache legend tells of Wind Dancer, a young warrior, who was born deaf, but could sing magical, wordless songs that brought healing and good weather. He married Bright Rain, a beautiful, young woman whom he rescued when she was being attacked by a wolf.
Wind Dancer was killed during another errand of mercy. A bitter winter ensued, but it suddenly and mysteriously ended after Bright Rain started taking solitary walks.

Tribal elders learned Wind Dancer had come back to her in the form of a hummingbird. He wore the same ceremonial costume and war paint he had worn as a man. In fields of spring flowers he would approach her and whisper his magical secrets in her ear. This brought her peace and joy.

The link is very informative and has many more legends. Hope this helps!

What is the advantage and disadvantage of having your eyebrows tattooed?
Q. If you are a pretty girl would you consider it?

A. I don’t have tattooed eyebrows, but three small hoop rings on one side. I like them and it doesn’t look too bad. I didn’t find out until after I had done my own peircings that there is a nerve up there that if hit, can paralyze the whole side of your face, hmmmm. Guess I got lucky there.
We worked at a mill in an isolated location in British Columbia and there was a young couple that got on there for a while too. They had spent time in Africa and she had tribal tattoos on her face. She was and is a very pretty young woman, but I thought then and still do that they looked rather cool.
These days a lot of people are getting tattoos of Japanese symbols, that depending on who sees them may result in some not so good misunderstandings. Be aware of what you are getting and know some of the culture behind it before you get the tattoo. It’s easy enough to get a cover up, but on the face, I don’t think so. I am considering one on the face, but I have considered the same tattoo a few years now, so it is a big decision for me. I already have six tattoos, but none on my face (yet). Here is a site that might be of some help in making your decision as regards to facial tattooing.
TattooMeNow.com<support@tattoomenow.com>
So, in light of the above;
It does not ruin a beautiful face when done right Be prepared to live with it the rest of your life It definitely does add character to a person’s face, but not all people’s faces. Be careful of what symbols etc. that you do get as sometimes they can have different meanings; depending on who sees them.

I am looking for a few ideas for a new tattoo?

Q. I am going to get a tattoo that stretches from my chest to my shoulder, wraps around the back of my shoulder, and goes down to my elbow. (if you've seen dwayne "the rock" johnsons tattoo it's about the size of it). but see the thing is, is that i'm not into tribal, i don't know my family crest, i'm not samoan, I don't like skulls, dragons, nothin like that. I am of course, going to look at the scetches when I get there, but I want to have an idea b4 i walk through the door. anyone got any ideas for me? thanx

A. any kind of fierce animal will do for you. like a bear, tiger, lion. things like that are common, like having the paw cutting into the skin on the chest and the rest going around the shoulder and down the back.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/27639042@N06/2575073253/
just like this pic but with a different animal.

if you are going to get a full tat like this i must tell you about the amazing tribal piece i've seen. its so majorly bad ass that i can't help it...and as it seems i cant find a decent picture of it anywhere. watch the movie. The Number 23 with Jim Carey. its a good show and an awesome tat.

okay back on subject though as your not into tribal.
if your not into tribal and your just not sure. may i suggest something mythical. like greeks gods or goddesses. the men can be strong and the women are very beautiful. you could do something like Poseidon with his trident rescuing a mermaid that is tied to an anchor or caught in a net. just shooting ideas here....if you feel like the "whole world is on you" you could get Atlas, he was condemned to carry the Earth on his back. You could get the Muses, very beautiful women that represent talent and where people get their inspiration from. i think there are eight and they represent agriculture, arts, astronomy/science, commerce, education, industry, justice, and law.

if not mythical then you could do Zodiac like the rock did. tell the artist that you want a Zoadic tattoo that is masculine and simialr to The Rock's.

How important is "originality" in a tattoo design?

Q. Check out this quote from an interview with Pat Fish (a woman tattoo artist world famous for her Celtic designs). It came out in 2003:

"College students cast about for something with meaning. The great default is something written in Japanese. It's low commitment, and they can feel wicked and tattooed. Frankly, a tiny kanji looks better than a miniscule rose. We call those 'zits on sticks.' The most common tattoo we do, besides kanji, is suns. Especially on girls' lower backs. For the last four or five years, we've done at least one a day. I hung a sign on the front door of my house that says, 'This is the bungalow that suns on butt cracks bought.'" ......

"We work out of files. I have a file of just suns. That way, I don't have to keep drawing the same thing. After the customer looks at 500 different suns, one-third will pick the same sun. It's the logo for this generation—Leo Zulueta's tribal sun. Then they can make it even more meaningful by putting a kanji in the center! My mantra about that is, 'The baker doesn't complain when the muffins sell well.' So, if we bake another dozen kanji, we're happy to do it!"
(source: http://www.luckyfish.com/controversial.html)

Hmmm...What’s the “logo” for THIS generation?

Here is the artist’s cynical viewpoint. Most are probably sick of doing the same “unoriginal” pieces. (Earlier in this article she says “That’s what employees are for!”)

But there is also a value in the standard design; everyone needs to be familiar with it so its “standard” meaning comes across. If every traffic light used different colors to mean “stop” and “go,” it would be really confusing.

Your thoughts?
I walked by Pat Fish's shop today (it's really close to my house) and peeked in....there is a whole HUGE wall of kanji flash, with the meanings of each character! I can really sympathize with her cynical attitude, but this just made the shop look really bad!

A. I completely feel sorry for tattoo artists who do 3-4 tramp stamps a day. As a piercing apprentice I feel as if I might scream every time some generic girl comes in to get either her tongue, her belly button, or both pierced. You can't blame people though, we're all victims trying to look cool. Some of us might not go out and get tattooed on a whim, but we will express it in other ways.

What is so bad about a women getting a tattoo on her forearm?
Q. I am wanting to get a tattoo of my daughters name and the japanese symbol for daughter on my left forearm but my husband doesnt want me to get a visibal tattoo. He told me that its tacky for women to have visibal tattoos..Does any other guy think that?

A. I am a women and I dont feel anything wrong with it. Its far from tacky.I recently just got a half sleeve and I love it. I dont regret it and I got it for me, no one else but for myself. If someone doesnt like it then Oh well it not on them. My fiancee was pretty cautious about me getting it but I convinced him of how bad I did. Now he loves it. It makes me who I am. I got a picec of art on me that will always be there and I will always be proud of it and of who I am. I say if it would make you happy then why not?? IF you do go forth with it good luck and Im sure your husband will like it after its all done, besides its there forever he wont have a choice :)

how much does a lower back tattoo hurt?
Q. hi im a 19 year old girl and im thinking about getting a lower back tattoo. not too big cuz it's my first and i;m really scared of getting one. just a little heart tattoo. about twice the size of a quarter? how much does it really hurt and i heard that if women get a lower back tattoo then they will be unable to get an epidural. is that really true?

A. You ask how much a lower back tattoo will hurt. If you make that big mistake and you get one, you will experience a lot of pain and you will bleed. You will not be in a hospital or operating room, and there is a chance you will catch some vile blood-born disease like hepatitis or flesh eating bacteria. Your wound may become infected. The so-called "tattoo artist" may make a mistake and you will be stuck with the results. I strongly recommend you reconsider getting tattooed. Your body is clean now, and not profaned by any graffiti, but that will change forever if you pay some tattoo predator to ruin your body. Just don't do it is my advice to you! You have lasted this long without tattoo, do not cave to the pressure from lesser people or a sick society and take that fatal step. Everything will change for you, for the worse, after you get that first tattoo.. Let me tell you why I am so anti-tattoo and so anxious that you not take this ugly step. The true cost of a tattoo is a lifetime of regret. There is an 80% chance you will regret it in your lifetime. Many people will look at you with disgust, for tattoos are offensive to many, many people. Your chances of getting a good job will be greatly diminished—most companies will not hire you since your tattoo will be seen as offensive to other workers. There is nothing good about a tattoo. A tattoo is little better than a cartoon—you can’t get a good quality drawing on the human skin. Tattoos are an urban blight. They are ugly, like graffiti. Like graffiti, they lower the quality of the environment. Tattoos lower the quality of life, for everyone who has to see their ugliness. I don’t like the whole concept of tattooing, the way these hideous cartoons are inked into the flesh of people through bloodletting and pain; to me they are a dark and evil art. Tattoos are closely linked to other forms of self harm, like cutting, piercing, drug use, etc.; they are hand-in-glove with these destructive behaviors. I don’t like the way evil people encourage our vulnerable children to get tattooed, so they can make money off of them. They do not care that they are causing harm. And yet, these evil ones, these tattoo predators, are even admired by their deceived victims. Young people are fooled into wanting tattoos by degenerate Hollywood and the media. Kids think tattoos are cool and cutting edge, but over time, they wind up hating their tattoos. Far worse, they wind up hating themselves. Parents and older people are so afraid of being disliked that they say nothing against tattoos, even though they know better. Worse, some completely abandon their responsibility to provide sound guidance and even encourage the young ones to get tattooed. As far as tattoos being “art”, that is garbage. A tattoo is NOT "a work of art". The human body is not a canvas and the abusers and mutilators who desecrate it are not artists. Most of their so called "art" is little better than comic book drawings. . More and more young people are buying into this Hollywood lie that tattoos are a cutting edge way to “express” yourself. But that is so not true. You should express yourself with your words and actions, not by inking graffiti onto your living flesh. I have no tattoos. I hate tattoos and those who inflict them upon our young people. Do not listen to the many predators and enablers here, who encourage young people to abandon decency and live self indulgent and destructive lives. Young people—do not get tattooed. Stay in school, do your best there, avoid drinking, drugs, tattoos and piercings, and avoid those who have them. Go to college, study science, mathematics, or business, and avoid liberal arts (unless you are wealthy and don’t need to make a living). God bless you in your life.

Crazy tattoo superstitions...Do you know of any?

Q. I have a lot of ink and so do all the guys in my family. Over the years I have heard a lot of crazy tattoo superstitions. Here are some of the more crazy ones:

1) If a guy has sex the night before getting a tattoo it will hurt more and heal slower. If a woman has sex the night before it will hurt less and heal faster...Apart from being untrue this is unfair! I have done both and it never mattered ,though getting enough sleep does.

2) It is unlucky to have an even number of tattoos...some people say odd numbers are back luck.

3) Getting the name of a partner tattooed is a sure sign things won't last.

4) Tattoo artists get offended when another tattoo artist covers up their work...untrue it happens all the time.

5) If you are American with Japanese tattoos the Yakuza are offended by this. If they see it and you pis$ them off, they will slice off your offensive tattoos with a sword...To my knowledge this has not happened for real but I have heard this one a few times...Sounds brutal!

6) If you have lots of tattoos they won't let you into a bath house in Japan. This one is actually true in some cases but it never happened to me when I visited there. They frown on excessive tattoos in Japan and associate it with gangs and crime. If you are a tourist, especially a non-Asian one, they tend to be more forgiving but you are expected to cover your ink when in public.

7) Spiderwebs tattooed on your elbows means you killed someone. As far as I know this isn't true either. Webs are common in old school style sleeves and lots of people in jail do get them. Most people who have this probably aren't killers.

8) Massaging your ink regularly will keep it from fading...As far as I know there is no truth to this. The ink is already under the skin. If you have healthy skin and take good care of it this MIGHT protect your ink but in the long run avoiding sun is probably more important. However this IS a great excuse to get chicks to massage me!

So what crazy superstitions have you heard about tattoos? And is it true or not true? Do you believe it? If so why or why not?

A. sure about 6 - Kelly Osbourne was asked to leave a gym in Japan for having tattoos. They ask you to cover them with tape. I'm guessing you'd have a problem xxBut then again I also heard in Japan they even ask you to wear a bathing cap in the baths if you are bald.
And there was controversy over Mike Tyson, and other celebrities, getting his facial tribal tattoo. Tribal tattoos are just that.
As for 5 I have heard of gang members slicing off tattoos

Tattooed women in Japan?
Q. So I really would like to go to Japan but I'm not sure how accepting they are with women with tattoos. I have a chest tattoo and others along my arm and wrists. Would I not be able to go swimming at all there or do any certain things? What about wearing a shirt that shows off my chest? Do Japanese men not like women with tattoos? Thanks

A. You're not going to like my answer, but here's the truth. Tattoos of any size on a woman are uncommon. In some places only hookers have them. Even men with tattoos are seen as connected with the Yakuza, Japan's largest criminal organization.
Your tattoos will prevent you from going into most public swimming pools, baths and onsens.
The Japanese men I've known didn't like tattoos period.

What's the meaning of this tattoo?

Q. http://www.tattooeasily.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Maori-Tattoo-designs-23.jpg
It's a Maori tattoo I found on the Internet, and I was wondering if you know the meaning of it, since most of those tattoos have one .. Thanks in advance :)

A. The Maori use tattoo to tell the world they have reached adulthood. Getting their faces tattooed was a right of passage that told the world "I'm an ADULT!" The design itself is a shorthand for the family geneology and often would tell rank. Women would get lip and chin tattoos while men would get full face tattoos.

It's best to be respectful if you choose one of these designs, however, as inappropriate placement like as a tramp stamp can be seen as offensive to the Maori. The design you posted is not a real Maori design. In fact, it can be seen as an offensive derivative due to it's positioning.

Didn't Obama say Insurance Premiums would NOT rise because of Obamacare?
Q. Sebelius: Some Could See Insurance Premiums Rise

Some people purchasing new insurance policies for themselves this fall could see premiums rise because of requirements in the health-care law, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told reporters Tuesday.

Ms. Sebelius’s remarks come weeks before insurers are expected to begin releasing rates for plans that start on Jan. 1, 2014, when key provisions of the health law kick in. Premiums have been a sensitive subject for the Obama administration, which is counting on elements in the health law designed to increase competition among insurers to keep rates in check. The administration has pointed to subsidies that will be available for many lower-income Americans to help them with the cost of coverage.

The secretary’s remarks are among the first direct statements from federal officials that people who have skimpy health plans right now could face higher premiums for plans that are more generous. She noted that the law requires plans to provide better benefits and treat all customers equally regardless of their medical claims.

“These folks will be moving into a really fully insured product for the first time, and so there may be a higher cost associated with getting into that market,” she said. “But we feel pretty strongly that with subsidies available to a lot of that population that they are really going to see much better benefit for the money that they’re spending.”

Ms. Sebelius added that those customers currently pay more for their health care if their plans have high out-of-pocket costs, high deductibles or exclude particular types of coverage, such as mental health treatment. She also said that some men and younger customers could see their rates increase while women and older customers could see their rates drop because the law restricts insurers’ ability to set rates based on age and gender.

Most people who buy their own insurance policies will begin doing so this fall through new online marketplaces, which federal officials believe will force insurers to keep their prices down.

“As a former insurance commissioner I have watched what transparency does to a market,” Ms. Sebelius said. “This is the first time ever in the history of the United States that insurance companies have to file their rates, it has to be very transparent, they have to offer the same kind of coverage without 5,000 tiny little lines and internal caps, and they have to compete for customers. And I am a believer in the market strategies that in and of itself will minimize the rate impact.”

As The Wall Street Journal reported last week, some insurers have already begun signaling they could dramatically increase prices for people buying policies in the individual market to compensate for restrictions on how they treat consumers, as well as new fees and requirements that they provide bigger benefits packages.

The Society of Actuaries, a nonpartisan professional association, has issued a new report warning that the cost of medical claims in the new individual-insurance market could rise by an average of 32% per person over the first few years the law is in place, as more people with higher medical needs get coverage, and that the impact will be very different depending on the state. Medical bills are another key factor in determining premiums.

http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2013/03/26/sebelius-some-could-see-insurance-premiums-rise/
Dave87gn - I won't insult your intelligence by suggesting that you really believe what you just said.
Douglas S - Somewhere out there is a tree, tirelessly producing oxygen so you can breathe. I think you owe it an apology.

A. the bottom line is quite scary. Those that have chose not to have health care will make any excuse to get Obamacare passed. They do not care who it hurts or who it effects. I know so many people that own houses, have new cars and go on vacations and say they have no money for health care. Yet, those of us who have sacrificed, and paid our health care costs all along are the ones that are being punished by having OUR health care costs inflated to pay for those that don't feel like paying for health care but got a brand new tattoo........welfare is there for those that need help we did not need another program that will help the non workers and punish the workers again. Then again, Obama hates those that work hard, we did not build that, he did, his government did and we are the ones that will pay for it, while he attends another basketball game or golf game. UGGGGG.

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. It’s made from coal tar and is used in both permanent and semi-permanent hair colours. It’s well-known to be a cause of serious allergic reactions -- including something called contact dermatitis which can lead to rashes, blisters, and open sores.
PPD is sometimes added to black henna tattoos and that using them is not safe. Allergic reactions usually begin within two to 10 days following application. One bad reaction can lead to sensitivities to other products such as hair dye, sunblock and some types of clothing dyes. Oftentimes, it's using the product a second or third time.

Did I make a mistake in which girl to wait for?

Q. "Girl A" was my first girlfriend of about 4-5 months. I met her at a rifle range at a fort, we went together to a military ball, and generally had a good time. Things slowed down a LOT though, and when I heard "Girl B" liked me, it slowed down more. We got to talking and figured we were better off as friends pretty quickly. "Girl B" is a childhood friend of me and my sister. Like, elementary and up. I wound up asking her to homecoming: flowers, reserved tickets to the game and the party, everything I could've done.

As it turns out, the little hint that Girl B had liked me was unfounded, but... maybe slightly true?
This is where it gets confusing. She wants to focus on school and other 'stressful' things. I get it. It's Junior year. We have college Apps, AP exams, family to take care of, less matured friends in all their High School Drama... it's a lot to handle. But she just refuses to give me a No or a Yes either way.

I wound up not going to the game or the party, even though she apparently went to the game with some friends. Of course, I assume it was to settle an issue, because she wound up loosing one of those friends at the game. Her family is going through a hard time right now, and I respect that, but... I'm not high maintenance. At least, I don't figure so. I don't need a "H.S. girl." I don't really want one either. I don't need her arm over my shoulder, or mine around her waist in the halls or between classes.

Of course, this all started in Mid September. It's now late November, and she has so far dodged me on giving me a straight forward answer either way. I keep telling myself one of these days she's gonna throw her arms around me, or slam the door in my face, and either one would be better than where I am now.

But now Girl A still likes me. We had a good time, no trouble, no issues, not even an argument. It was born and died mutually and with each other's best interest at heart. But now it's the uncertain childhood friend, who culturally is closer to me, who has grown close with my family, and been a good friend for many years, versus the lovable ex, who has taken a special place in my memory and heart...... But I'm stubborn, and dedicated, and blind/dense to relationships. I told her I was waiting for Girl B to give me an answer, and that Girl A was not a back-up plan, that I didn't want to be "that guy" who saves one girl if the other turns him down...

She smiled and told me that our relationship was really just the kind to make the one between me and Girl B stronger. . .

Now I'm lost. Did I make a mistake? Never in my dreams would I leave a girl because I think I could do better. I din't leave Girl A because I thought Girl B was better... just better FOR me.... They're both wonderful friends, kind souls, and fun to be around, but I thought religious and cultural differences would make Girl A complicated later on.

Did I make a mistake? Is it wrong of me to keep waiting for this one girl who just has a good sense of priorities over another who didn't work out but by all rights should have?

Ladies in particular, I know how to be a good man, but am terrible with reading the other gender :) If y'all could help me out here, it'd be very much appreciated...

A. Believe it or not, you're not the only one to go through something like this. I'll tell you what could help if you're willing to read through my story. My first semester I met a girl and we really hit it off, she was my "Girl B". Girl B and I were great together, we made eachother laugh and I could always cheer her up when she was down. When we were out in public complete strangers would sometimes walk up to us and ask if we were dating! I thought Girl B had feelings for me but not much ever became of it. I put off hanging out with friends for her and I didn't allow myself to develop any relationships with other women. What I didn't see then was that she was stunting my growth as a person. Winter break came and I spent all my time thinking of her, waiting to see her again. We talked over break but she didn't tell me much about what was going on in her life. She came back with a tattoo. This may not sound like a big deal but the girl I knew was very much opposed to the idea. She had a transformation in character almost overnight. It was then that I met a girl who transferred in, Girl A. Girl A invited me to the movies with her and I decided then that if something were to ever come from my relationship with Girl B it had to be then, I didn't want to be left in the dark any longer. I explained my feelings to her and asked her point blank if she'd be my girlfriend. She didn't say yes. She didn't say no. She said "I don't know if I can do that right now." And with that I walked away. The very next night I went to the movies with Girl A and we've been dating ever since.
Oddly enough, there names even start with A and B!

What I mean to convey with all of this is Girl B can't help but waste your time. She's either waiting on her own reasons or waiting on a guy who's doing the same to her as she as to you. My Girl B was putting me off because her ex-boyfriend was putting her off. She's turned you into herself. You're keeping Girl A waiting. What Girl B is doing is keeping you in suspense with no regard for your feelings. If Girl B can't make a choice, she never will. If you have any respect for Girl A then I hope you'll realize you're doing the same thing to her.

Girl A likes you enough to seek you out, Girl B just likes the attention you give her. Please do yourself a favor and try to have the relationship both you and Girl A deserve.

Need advice. A psychiatrist would be awesome. Teenager ,?
Q. I think I might be bisexual. I believe in reincarnation. I like witchcraft. I want to be a burlesque dancer. My parents are very Christian. I don't know what to do

A. Here's my backstory: I'm 21, female, I've had sexual relations with both men and women, I have tried several different types of drugs/alcohol before I was of legal age, I got pregnant about a year ago (out of wedlock, though I had a miscarriage, which I'm still really sad about), I'm a democrat, I listen to "loud rock music", watch "guy" movies (like Jackass), believe in God but I'm not religious, nor do I consider myself to be of any particular religion, I support gay marriage and abortion but not the death penalty, none of my friends are the same race as me (I'm half white/half Mexican and I have friends who are white, Vietnamese, Chinese, Arab, mixed race, Jewish, among others). My boyfriend is Jewish. Most of my friends smoke pot, drink alcohol frequently, and smoke hookah (flavored tobacco), and I do all those things when I hang out with them. I have tattoos and piercings, and I use colorful language on a daily basis.
Why's this weird? My mom's side of the family is VERY Christian (you know, no sex before marriage, homosexuality is a sin, don't date someone who isn't Christian, don't take the lord's name in vain, blah blah blah), and my dad's side is very traditional Mexican (less strict than Christians, but they're Catholic so again, sex before marriage and homosexuality are frowned down upon). My family doesn't like tattoos or piercings, and for most of them any drug use or alcohol use is frowned upon. And the fact that I'm dating a Jewish guy, and that none of my friends are at all religious? (including my Jewish boyfriend lol) Trust me, I've felt like the black sheep of the family for my whole life, because I AM the black sheep. And you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way. They can live their God-fearing, quiet, alcohol and drug-free, missionary sex only for procreation, stick to your own kind, lives... I'm me, and they can take it or leave it. I tone down my more in-your-face behaviors when I'm with family, but as for the things I can't change? I like who I like, I like what I like, and there's no shame in it.
So my advice? Just be yourself. Your family will love you for who you are, and if they don't like your sexual preferences, your choice of profession, or your beliefs, then they're obviously not open-minded enough to look past all the stuff they consider "bad" and see that you're still their child. I thought my mom would disown me when I told her I was pregnant, but she told me she'd support me through everything (of course, I lost the baby about a month later, and when that happened she cried with me). And there's something to be said about having the guts to stand up for what you believe in and who you want to be. I admire people who say "yeah, I'm gay. and my boyfriend is of a different race than me. and you know, I don't care what you think, because it's MY life, I'm gonna live it how I see fit."

How can a woman find tattoos attractive on their bodies?

Q. I mean, bodies sag as people age and that lovely little rose will begin to look like an aborted fetus. Am I wrong? I think these little embellishments are hideous links to a tribal past.

YUCK!

A. Tattoos and piercings seem very tribal. Some tattoos I've seen were really crappy.

Q. looking for a picture of a girl with a tribal tatto on her belly that wraps around her belly button. She is skinny and tan with a navel piercing, the tattoo is tribal and is lined in black and filled in, possably in sacramento.

What are your opinions about the Abomination Theory?

Q. There are several verses in the Bible which are similarly contested - there are however a much smaller number of seemingly clear statements. The most famous of them is probably from Leviticus: "You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; that is an abomination."

Seperate verses in the same book forbid a wide range of sexual activities, including having sex with a woman who is having her period do they not? Is this an indication that the passage embodies specific cultural values rather than God's law?

A. Levitical laws from the Bible also say abominations include men who shave, tattoos, eating pork, football players (by touching pigskin), shellfish eaters, and wearing clothes from blended materials.

When it comes to people saying something is wrong based on a certain Biblical quote, it can be helpful to remember a quote from Shakespeare...
"Even the devil can cite scripture for his purpose."

Tattoos for scar coverage?

Q. Years ago I used to be a self harmer, the scars left behind arnt as bad as some that I've seen but they are noticeable & it's awkward when people notice, I hate it. So I was thinking of getting a tatto on my left fore arm, kind of like a sleeve but not so full on coverage. What are your opinions, should I go for it or not? Im desperate to cover the scars but I also know that if I didn't have the scars, I probably would never have a tattoo on my arm. X

A. Definitely get it! There's this world famous tattoo artist in Seattle who does a lot of cover up tattoos for various scars, for anything from breast cancer to scars. She's really amazing. I don't know where you live, but I'm sure there are tattoo artists by you that can do a good job. Just make sure they are skilled enough. Anyways, take a look at this woman's page...click on 'portfolio' and then click 'cover ups'. It has both the before and after photos

Tattoos, piercings in Japan?
Q. I've heard something, i don't know what.. i'm hoping someone can tell me here.. that people in Japan look down on people with tattoos???
I of course have both my arms covered in tattoos, and i'm going to japan in a couple of months.... i'm wondering if it's true and why it is, if so!?

And, how about piercings???
Is it popular for people over there to get piercings, as it is here in the west?!

Thank you!!

A. In general, yes, people in Japan do not like tattoos and piercings.

However, as a foreigner, you are sort of excempt from some of that. You're already seen as an outsider, from a different culture. Still, there are plenty of foreigners without them, so why you?

Tattoos are associated with the yakuza (Japanese mafia). It's extremely rare to see a Japanese with a tattoo without some connection to the mafia.

Piercings are for women.

Japan is strange in that some ways it seems almost anti-nature. Just look at the way all the rivers are cemented up. Yet on the other hand, an un-tattooed, un-pierced body is revered.

Why? It just is. I agree with it too. The human body is so beautiful just as it is.

Even from a Western pov, that's all sort of passe. I thought that was supposed to die out along with the Seattle scene (grunge). Nirvana died in 1994.

Are all strippers this unattractive and talentless?

Q. I have never been in a strip club. But last November I went to a hotel suite party at a tattoo convention in Virginia. They hired strippers to preform. They didn't do anything but roll on the carpet and look silly. Some were missing numerous teeth.

My cousin is visiting this weekend and wants us to go to a strip club. Were these strippers just a rare exception, or should I save my money?

Serious responses only.

A. My first opinion would be to not waste your money. Tell your cousin that you could spend the funds getting to know some girls who want to talk to you because they like you, not because they're trying to see how much money they can make. If your cousin wants to go and sit around with the girls while they dance on him all naked like....tell him to stop being a perv.

That said, some people really do go to strip clubs for entertainment. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, as long as they keep it under control.

I suggest you scope out clubs by what kinds of cars are outside. If you don't see a crowd of escalades and acuras outside on a Friday night, don't go in. These kinds of clubs have the prettier women who can demand more money. Usually their stage entertainment is more than some girl rolling around onstage. They have themes, even coordinated routines sometimes. Stay away from the holes in the walls. Ugly absent-toothed women abound! They dance for the guys who don't have enough money for the pretty girls.

In conclusion, I want to revisit a previous statement. Don't waste your money! There are all kinds of schemes in the strip club (ie. private rooms, lap dances, drinks for the girls that are really nothing but water, etc.). Don't fall prey to these things. I know guys who can go to a strip club, have a good time and leave, in good conscious. I've also known those who consistently spent loads of their hard earned money on a piece of tail. It doesn't make sense. If you invest a little time and emotion, you'll get all that and more for free! It'll be exclusive, and from a girl who probably won't give you hepatitis!!! :)

Is it a bad sign when I listen to Britney Spears and I feel I can relate to the music?

Q. *sings*

I'm not a girl
Not yet a woman
all I need is time
a moment that is mine....
while I'm in between...

I'm not a girl don't tell what to believe
I'm just trying to find the woman in me yeah!

A. No that's alright. The thought is very authentic and well put.

Now if you start liking Britney's music as a whole, the folks at Tioga might start sizing you up for a trailer, or maybe a double wide. You'll get "complimentary" tickets to the local tractor pull, maybe even a NASCAR race. You'll get mail order catalogs of body jewelry and tattoo designs.

Sophrosune my Greek pet, moderation in all things.

Here's to Tsaziki, and spanocopida, but not to Retsina!

how can i become a victorias secret angel?
Q. i would beally like to become a victorias secret angel because i love them all. im 14 and i really need help. guys?? any ideas?? what should i do. please dont really write any stupid response cause thats really just a waste of your and my time. i need some real answers and fast.

A. Well first, you'll need to meet the requirements.
Height: At least 5'7 (Same as most, large modeling agencies)
Measurements: 34-24-34 (+/- 1.5, also same as more large modeling agencies)

To become an angel, you're going to need an extremely successful modeling career. So before we even get to such a prestigious job, focus on starting up your modeling career. Contact local, or any national/international modeling agency to obtain more information or even get scouted.

So after you are signed with an agency (VS will only hire you if you are signed with an agency), you're going to need to get your name out there. Participate in as many large fashion events as possible (Such as Milan, Paris, New York Fashion Week and other large fashion capitals) Not only does VS do a lot of scouting at these events, but so do other major companies. It all comes to chance, and the best way to improve this chance is to be a good, dedicated model and to get your name really out there. If VS is interested in hiring you, they'll contact your agency and business will be done between them. You'll start working for them (commercials, catalogue and fashion show) as any other regular model (not an official angel) and if they really like you, the prestigious Angel contract will be offered. Keep in mind that this is one of the most prestigious modeling jobs in the world, there are probably hundreds of thousands of other women who want this job as much as you, so don't be disappointed if you are unable to complete this dream of yours, very few are ever offered this contract.

No, you do not need to be perfect. Do not get any large tattoos, no plastic surgery either.

I dont like jewelery at all and i never wear it. What else can i do other than a wedding ring?

Q. I have hated jewelery all my life. Unfortunately its my wierd little quirk as a woman. I am dreading the day i have to get married because i dont know of any other reasonable traditions other than a ring. Any ideas?

A. You can speak with the officiant/priest beforehand, and request the part about the rings be left out, or write your own vows in such a way they do not mention rings. If your really doing traditional, and can't leave out the ring exchange for some reason, buy a cheap band, use it for the ceremony, and you never have to wear it again. I would highly advise against a tattoo. What if your husband passes away before you, and you remarry someday? A tattoo isn't going anywhere. Plus it will fade over time, and just look like an ugly black mark on your finger.

A ring doesn't make you any more married anyways. So long as you know your married, and abide by your vows, a ring is nothing more than a symbol. It doesn't make a happy marriage. My parents 40th anniversary is in July, and my mom has never worn a wedding ring. She doesn't like jewelry, and she doesn't need a ring to know that she is married.

How do I dye my hair blonde/white with 40 volume white out hair dye?? (Manic Panic from hottoppic)?
Q. I have dark brown hair but right now it's dyed like a reddish/brown. I have the kit that I got from hottoppic, and it is 59 mL, 2 fl oz, and then I have the conditioner, 118 mL, 4 fl oz. I don't know how much to use. I want to dye my whole head, and I want it to be really blonde, to where it is almost white where it has like idk blackish roots, but I also have NO idea how to do it.

A. Call the 1-800# found on the box of dye or email them, (to find #, go online & search the brand if you don't have the box) they're the hair color experts they can advice you best. Style meets chemistry meets biology: We're talking hair coloring.

Playing with chemicals is not like playing with clothes, or doing a manicure, there are penalties for playing chemicals in the lab. Even hair color experts at the salon are not rocket scientists, they do a bang up dye jobs to their clients or their own hair.

Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.

Google: Teen 'feared she would die' after reaction to hair dye
The allergic reaction was caused by a well-known brand of semi-permanent hair dye Chloe used to turn her hair black for a Hallowe’en party. . . . . called for beauty bosses to ban hair dye chemical PPD (para-phenylenediamine) from the shelves. 11-04-11

Google: A 38-year old mother left in a coma after using hair dye. SHE DYED HER HAIR MANY TIMES BEFORE, USING THE SAME BRAND. The British woman who went into coma after a reaction to hair dye has died after a year. Updated 11-25-12. The woman suffered a heart failure, struggled for breath and became unconsciousness. Her family blamed paraphenylenediamine, a chemical found in hair colour. Her family has now called for paraphenylenediamine to be banned from home dye kits. In 2000, a 38-year-old Indian-origin woman from Birmingham, Narinder Devi, died after an allergic reaction to hair dye.

Permanent black hair dye is linked to causing leukemia and lymphomas.

When it comes to hair care treatments, product use or visits to a salon or spa, the consumer must take responsibility to do their homework and be aware of all the risks involved.
Vanessa Minnillo Lachey: "I dated a guy once who wanted me to have blonde hair. Clearly, he was the wrong guy for me! I went to a lady who bleached my hair and it literally fell out. So, not only did I go back to my natural hair, I broke up with the guy!"

A WOMAN was temporarily blinded when her face swelled up "like a football" following what she told was a severe reaction to hair dye.
Carmen Rowe, 25, from Swansea was hospitalised for three days after using the Clairol 'Nice n' Easy' natural black colour. She said: "I lost my job, all for the sake of a glamorous hairstyle. I just want to warn parents what could happen." She claimed she carried out a skin test 48 hours before using the dye without a problem and has been colouring her hair since she was 13. Example of one who's hair is falling and stopped growing from YA!:
"my hair had been bleached many times and can't grow past a certain length
its also falling out . i stopped bleaching it.
i just need to add lenght! but if i can stop it from falling out..that be great too"

When did women start wearing tattoos?

Q. My grandpa said that back in the 60's if a women had a tattoo, people will look at her funny. It was taboo. But now a days its not that big of a deal anymore, especially in big cities and more liberal areas like California. But when did this start? Anyone old enough to remember?

A. Tattoos suddenly became super popular in America around 1995 or 1996. Before then it was somewhat rare to see women with tattoos. I remember seeing a woman with an ankle tattoo in 1993 and remember thinking it was odd.

ETA:

I lived in New York City during the 1970s and 1980s and it was rare in those days for women to have tattoos. When I did see one they were small like a small flower on the ankle or wrist.

What can you tell about a woman who wears a flower tattoo on her upper right shoulder blade ?
Q. O.K. I recently had a falling out with a woman who always refered to me as her best friend. I caught her in tons of lies during our ,so-called, friendship and the rest of the time she just baffled me with her evasive personality and quirks. She had the most amazing flower tattoo (I think it was supposed to be an Iris or Orchid ) on her upper right shoulder blade.
I see in various magazines that alot of attention has been given to tattoos ,their art and body location and what they can tell about the person.
Any one have some thoughts on what I didn't know about my ex friend based on her tattoo ??
By the way I'm still crazy ,mad in love with her. I suppose my tattoo should be "Fool 4 love" across my forehead.

A. It means she likes flowers. And tattoos. Ta-da!!! Magic.

What happens to the baby if you get a tattoo while pregnant?

Q. I've been wanting a tattoo but I just found out I was pregnant. Ugh.
What would happen if I got the tattoo?
Btw I'm still early enough so it's not like the artist would know.
I know you're not "supposed" to get one, but why not?

A. We just won't do it. It's a code among tattoo artists. Ink is injected under the epidermis into the dermis. I've seen a few women who were tattooed while pregnant, and never seen any ill effects. But we won't do it if we know you're pregnant. It's one of the first questions on the release form you sign to get the ink. 'Are you pregnant or breast feeding?' If you have breast cancer do you HAVE to get your breast removed?
Q. is there another option? we have been learning about this in my health class and im jjust wondering. and also could you get breast implants to replace your lost breast, and would they be able to replace the nipple and aerolia too?

A. The surgery recommended depends on the individual's particular cancer; the size of the tumour and whether the cancer has spread to lymph nodes are just some of the factors taken into consideration when deciding whether to recommend mastectomy (removal of the breast) or lumpectomy.

I had a mastectomy. Given the position of my tumour, a lumpectomy probably wouldn't have had very satisfactory results aesthetically, but the main reason for removing my breast was that in addition to the tumour and cancerous lymph nodes, the breast had widespread ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), which means precancerous cells.

Breast reconstruction is a possibility in many cases, which can include a 'nipple'; and some people choose to have areola tattooed onto the reconstructed breast.

I personally decided against reconstruction. What many people don't realise is that breast reconstruction is a huge operation, much more so than a mastectomy. It is major surgery that takes many hours to complete (between 9 and 14 hours depending on the type of reconstruction was the information I had & years ago), and is not always successful - I have known a few women whose reconstructed breasts had to be removed - more surgery. I decided once under the knife was enough for me.

Why on earth were they teaching you about breast cancer in health class? Are they also teaching you about prostate cancer and Alzheimer's - two more conditions that you won't have to worry about until you are very, very much older.

We are always seeing questions on here from teenage girls terrified they have breast cancer because of lessons in school.

I hope whoever delivered your class gave you these facts: breast cancer is almost unheard of in under 25s, a girl aged 16 - 19 has less than a one in one million chance of developing it (which means that she is statistically more than twice as likely to be struck by lightning), and the risk to a girl under 16 is statistically zero.

Fewer than 0.1% of all those diagnosed with breast cancer are under 30, and only 5% are under 40. Most (80%) are over 50 and the average age at diagnosis is a little over 60.

I also very much hope they told you that at your age you should NOT be doing breast checks - they'll tell you nothing and worry you unnecessarily. The American Cancer Society and all other responsible and reputable cancer organisations recommend that women begin breast self examination at no younger than 20, if then; and some cancer professionals say 30. Before that it's pointless; firstly because there are so many hormonal changes that there is no 'normal' - and self examination is about a woman knowing what's normal for her and reporting any changes. And secondly because the chance of breast cancer is almost nil.

I recently got a tribal tattoo and I couldn't find what it means. Does anyone else think they could ?

Q. When I got on goggle to look up spinal tattoos for woman, I saw this particular one that I fell in love with. I couldn't find a meaning for it, but then again I'm not the most tech savvy person or patient enough. Anyone up for the challenge to find a meaning ?

http://inspirationcalorie.com/inspiration/tribal-tattoo-designs/ its number 4

A. Very very few tattoos have any specific historical meanings, a few are linked to specific gangs, motorcycle clubs, or groups within large prisons. Some Polynesian designs show a family link to other people with that design, and some Maori designs have links to clans, ancestors and parents.
The other 99% of tattoo designs have no given meaning outside whet the person with the tattoo chooses it to have. "Tribal tattoos" are a selection of black ink designs created by tattoo artists in the early 1990s, they have no history behind them, no previous cultural gravitas and are essentially just nice patterns.

Do you have/plan on getting any tattoos?
Q. Tell me about them if you do^.^

A. I have many, all with specific meanings, all beautiful pieces.
(Not going to type out all the meaning for them)

-Half Sleeve: all kinds of flowers/butterflies (the process of life) and a piece dedicated to my husband (not a name though, never tattoo the name of the person you are in a relationship with)
-Upper arm: a symbol that almost all the women in my family have (majority of them have it on their backs, my sis on her leg, me on my arm)
-Back Piece: The justice scales with roses and vines mixed with tribal (like) art around it.
-wrist: a heart on fire with "lessons learned" on it
-Upper forearm says: No pity for the weak and cowardly
-Ankle: A broken heart
-Calve: Roses
-Hip: Butterfly
-Lower back more: flowers

I am looking for a Arabic Tattoo to honor my mother and father?

Q. I am of Moroccan decent, so i would like to get a tattoo that is in arabic. I was first thinking of getting mother and father in arabic, plain and simple. However, i want it to have more meaning, maybe a phrase or quotation from the Quran . Or a symbol, i have checked online, but i always get different regions than my own. Can anyone help me please?

A. In Modern Moroccan culture, tattoos have a really bad connotation. It wasn't always like this, a lot of elderly women still have tattoos on their faces, hands and feet. I can't explain why this change occurred, but if i know my parents wouldn't even hear of it for example :)

Now, stay away from Quran verses, god's names, the prophet's sayings and the like. It's considered a blaspheme. You'll have Muslims of all nationalities coming to you asking why you did it, saying it's haram and feeling offended... i think it's not a desirable reaction to a tattoo, so please be careful, and avoid anything religious unless you want it to have this kind of reactions :)

I would advice you to pick a verse of classical Arabic poetry. It's not specific to Morocco but it's chic. If you want something really Moroccan, look for a song lyrics, and if your parents are Amazighs, maybe a berber poetry in Tifinagh script. I don't want to suggest something, because to honor your parents, this is something you most do by yourself. This alone will give it a deep meaning, along with you love and respect for them :)

How would you perceive an attractive female with a not so girly tattoo?
Q. but not manly at all! just not the average hearts, butterflies, all that unoriginal stuff (no offense they look cute and all!) haha

something alittle more. for example a tattoo like angelina's, megan fox's tats etc?

i personally love them and it makes them a little endearing and mysterious, its not something you'd expect from a pretty girl. makes her unique

def. badass! what do you guys think? just curious?

A. i personally think that not so feminine tattoos are hot on women, and all the guys ive dated would def. agree.

most of the guys ive dated or been interested in, ive met because they noticed my tattoos and were intrigued, which is not very common for pretty young girls to be very heavily tattooed. [i mean, two sleeves, full chest piece, feet, ribs, one calf, piece on the neck behind the ear.. pretty heavy]

i mean, you'll never be able to get EVERYONE you ask to agree that theyre hot or not, but from my experience and from people i know, heavy tattoos or not feminine tattoos on women are extremely hot.

at the same time, i do get weird looks, or ive had an old woman say to me "those are for ugly girls" or things like that. i do have people ask "why such a pretty young girl would do that to herself", so yes, there will always be haters. but get a tattoo for yourself, not for the rest of society!!

tattoos are also starting to be a lot more socially acceptable these days-- almost everyone, even a community's most-respected people, are getting tatted up now!

What does a Hannya tattoo and Koi Fish tattoo mean?

Q. Besides the jealous lady i think for the hannya what else? And for the koi what does it mean going up and down? I know there are several meanings but whats forsure?

A. When used in tattoos, especially with running water, the koi is meant to symbolize courage and the ability to attain goals and to overcome life's difficulties. When the koi in the tattoo is shown swimming upstream, it can be used to mean that the tattooee is still struggling with his problem, whereas a koi swimming downstream implies that the tattooee has already overcome his difficulty. In other cases, the koi swimming downstream can represent the season of fall, and the koi swimming upstream can represent the spring.

Against the wide-spread opinion Hannya Masks do not have anything to do with the devil or Satan. There is a concept of a hell in the Japanese Buddhism, but Hannyas are terrestrial monsters. Confused human feelings like passion, jealousy or hate can transform women into these dreadful monsters. In some japanese theatre the masks are used in stories for female demons, who can only be released of their inhuman shape over the way to Buddha.

What do you think of Mothers with tattoos?
Q. My father-in-law always is saying that it is not right for mothers to have tattoos. That what am I going to tell me kids when they ask me what the tattoo is?

I totally think he is wrong. Either way I just want to hear everybody opinion.

Thanks!

A. He clearly forgets that women aren't born as mothers ~ we may or may not become them.

When I first discussed getting a tattoo, some self-opinionated woman I didn't even know kept saying "Just imagine how terrible it will look when you're 50 and a grandma". I chose to ignore her as the image-driven idiot she clearly was.

I still intend to have at least two tattoos, which I am working on designing, as they have very personal meanings to me. And I would hope that the man I eventually end up with would be the sort to understand why I have them. As for being a mother with tattoos, I would be proud to explain the reasons to my kids, and anyone else who questions it ~ "I had them done for *me*. Being a mother is only part of my life story".

Womens opinion of a tattoo?

Q. I want to get a half sleeve tattoo from a couple inches above my elbow to the top of my shoulder. Its very intristing designs not a bunch of stuff just thrown together. It would be my only tattoo. I was wondering if more women are turned off by a tattoo like that, or if they would think it's interesting and creative. What do women think of men with tattoos?

A. tattoos are cool and sexy, go for it.
dont listen to all the 'you will regret it' people. if you are a happy go lucky person you will realise its just ink, no big deal. if you are really vain or kinda uptight then you will join the 'you will regret it' club and be miserable. its only ink........ and you only live once....

Half-Sleeve Tattoo design for woman?
Q. I want to get a half-sleeve and am trying to decide what theme/design to do. I love animals, and want to get tattoos for my 2 dogs, but I don't want portraits, just paw prints and their names, so maybe not a sleeve for them...I just need ideas for a theme so when I talk to the artist I can have some ideas!!!
Thank you!

A. why don't you get something like paw prints on a trail with your favorite animals along the sides of the trails with maybe vines and things intricately winding around the path

What Quote should i do for my tattoo?
Q. My grandma dies a couple years ago and she was like a mom to me. What quote or tattoo ideas could I incoprporate into my tattoo. She also love pink roses and her name is carol

A. Here are somethings you need to know.

This is PERMANENT! I know that there is laser tattoo removal out there, but it is expensive (last I checked it cost $1,000 a square inch), leaves 70% scar tissue (last I checked), and is 10 times more painful then getting the tattoo (again, last I checked into it). Because of it's permanency, there are some things you REALLY NEED to keep in mind.
You want to be sure that YOU are happy with where your tattoo is placed, don't ever let anyone tell you it needs to be somewhere else. In that same breath though, you need to keep in mind the ramifications as to your placement of your tattoo. For men, a tattoo on the forearm or below the sleeveline is socially acceptable, as men are usually the ones who, do all the heavy lifting, if you will. They are the rough and tough construction workers, the ones who go to war, the ones who do stupid shit and live to regret it later. Women however, are not put in that same category. Women are STEREOTYPICALLY the ones who do the lighter side of things, stay at home and raise the kids, when we work, we work in office type environments, grocery stores, nursing, yadda, yadda yadda.... These places tend to frown upon women with visible tattoos, tend to think these "type" of women are irresponsible, unprofessional, and not taken seriously. It sounds like a bitchy thing to say, but it is the truth, as ugly as it may be. So before you put it anywhere, think of your future, what are you going to do with your life, will this hinder my professional career, so on and so forth.

You also need to think about the possibility of your body changing, whether it be from having kids, drastic weight gain or loss, is your body even done growing. When you get a tattoo, you are making that art a PART of your body, it becomes your skin. Look at your skin now, at your friends skin. You see those stretch marks, those scars from falling or other mishaps? Now think about what your tattoo will look like with those things in them. When your skin inflates (from what ever reason other then just normal water retention) or it deflates, those pretty lines on your design that are now longer thin and pretty, they do what is called "blow out" and make a piece of art on you that looks like Michelangelo himself drew on you, now look like you gave a kinder-gardener a tattoo machine and told them to have fun! The scars on your body, 95% of the time, will not hold color properly, so don't even think you can get it "touched up", because all you are doing is standing on the bow of the Titanic with a water bucket screaming "I'll save us all" when in reality all you are doing is wasting your money and the artists time.

Also, you really need to do some homework on the artist you chose. Don't JUST look at the pictures in their book, try and find some of their work that is a few years old. Most tattoo artists tend to have pictures of their work just after they finish it, when it is all fresh and bright. You need to see how their stuff looks after it is all healed and time has had its chance to get ahold of their work. This is going to be something you will live with form now until AFTER you are dead and buried, make sure it is going to look good later and not just now.

I promise you that if you take your time with it all, your chance of regret is much lower. You hear people say all the time, I wish I had not gotten my tattoo, I should have waited to get a tattoo, I shoulda, woulda, couda, but I didn't. How many people do you hear say, I should have never waited to get a tattoo?

I know that I have given you a bit more then what you might have been looking for, but there is a very good reason for doing so. And please do not think I am some brainless wonder sitting at a computer talking out of their arse. I am actually MARRIED to a tattoo artist (and have been for 14 years now), I have 25% of my body covered in tattoo's and I am speaking from experience far greater then most.

How can some people put Tattoo or Pierce their sexual parts?

Q. i have seen some pictures of both men and women putting tattoos on their reproductive system and the even pierce it, i dont get it doesnt it hurt??? and what is the use of such a thing?? and there r consequences for such acts right?

and thanks

A. They probably does hurt while they are being done, but the pain goes away. As for why, that depends on the person every one has different reasons for getting their private parts tattooed or pierced. Some people just like the way it feels, some say it enhances the way intercourse or oral sex.

What do guys between the ages of 13-16 find attractive?
Q. I am 13 and I was wondering what guys around my age find attractive... Well if you are in this age range, what do you find attractive in girls/women? And if your older, what do you find attractive in women?

A. What do i find attractive in women? At this age, the more accurate word is "girl". I do find girls more attractive than women. I, being 16, am greatly enthralled by the cuteness, the lithe and curvaceous aspects of a girl. The body is obvious, but their is also a certain mystique, an infinitely interesting aspect surrounding the way your minds work, why you do the things you do. Personality. And I'm not sure what is so attractive about a girl's private parts, or the body in general. It must be because you are different than us guys. The truth is, females are the most attractive creatures in the universe for us. It is hard enough to resist temptation without you girls flaunting your bodies, but another thing entirely when you show cleavage or something. That gets our minds working. I realize many girls love the idea that they can turn a guy on like that. But it really makes it hard sometimes. Girls have been known as cruel angels, with minds that work in strange ways. If I see a girl in a bikini, it sits in my head and simmers. It piques my curiosity and starts my imagination. That just the body, but a real relationship is unquestionably better. It may seem cheesy, but I want real love. Anyway, being feminine and full of passion is what is attractive in a girl. I prefer clothing that is pretty modest, but displays a girl's form. Highlights the femininity. Yeah, an hourglass shape with fair-sized breasts is good, but is certainly not a deciding factor. I am a bit feral, so strong hormones are also a plus. I dislike earrings, piercings, or tattoos. If I like a girl, I get protective of her, and find myself wishing to comfort her in her sorrows. I am a fan holding, with lots of hugs and kisses. Don't make fun of me, or I will glare at your profile name for several seconds.

Do nice girls finish last? And do men really like b*tches?

Q. I consider myself overall to be a "good girl". I have high respect and confidence about myself that humbles me; I'm kind to others but not a pushover; ambitious, fun, has a set of goals and hobbies; and I'm not easy but can be flirty and mannered and polite. As much as I am enjoying my single life, lately I've been jaded by men. I FEEL as if all guys are the same: some are soo interested in you and will do anything to be near you for one minute and the next, they don't like you; some will lie and believe they can get away with it; some just waste your time for attention bc they're either bored or lonely; and some will only be nice to you because they just want that one thing.

I just read "why men marry bitches" and it's soo empowering and i just realized that I have been th nice girl. And although that is a good atribute, it doesn't get you far. Reading that book has made me realize, women need to find their inner 8 yr old. At that age, boys were never a priority: it was all about getting good grades, reading my favorite books, excited to play my favorite sport during recess, or spending time with the girls playing/talking about barbies. I didn't care what people thought and I always put myself first. When a boy was mean to me, i was mean back; if he made fun of my barbies, i made fun of his trucks; if he insulted me, i insulted him back...if he did anything that was completely disrespectful, I completely ignored him and told him straight up to "never talk to me again bc he was a meanie". If he asked to borrow something and promised he'd give it back, I didn't believe him, called him a liar and didn't trust him. Now entering my mid 20s I look at women and realize how much we've changed from then. Everything is "male centered" - This book inspired me to be my 8 yr old self again: put myself first, be interested in my favorite sports/interests and if a guy ever disrespects me, I cut him off. Here's the thing where I'm torn: I don't want to "change" myself and be someone I'm not although, the book does give women the confidence to OPPOSE and OPENLY DISAGREE w. whatever a guy says or does. Growing up in an old fashioned environment, i've been raised to be "ladylike"...so maybe that's my problem. Maybe I can still be a "good girl" but have more confidence to say "no, I'm still gonna do what I want anyway no matter how much you disagree." and to stick w. your morals. Then I get confused bc this book says the truth how men will always play games or test out women...and I'm tired of games already. I thought if a guy was meant for you, it would all be natural and there wouldn't be game playing. I dated this guy (maybe age has to do alot w. it, he was 21). We went out (took me to dinner) and after that, he didn't call. My co-worker asked him and he said, "if she's really interested, she'd call me". He had a point BUT if he was really man and interested, he would've asked me to hang out again...he also started acting arrogant. It confused me bc I dated someone 5 yrs older when I was 21, he did just that. He called and initiated another meeting - no BS. I sound confused....thoughts?

A. Hello Helloooo Nurse.
You've posted variants of this post, more times than I've had hot dinners last month. =0)
I'm 'Old school' like yourself (but older) I understand what you're saying in your first paragraph & commend your parents & you for the line >>Growing up in an old fashioned environment, i've been raised to be "ladylike<< (what do your parents think of today's society)?, but I think you need to blame some of it on the demise of family values down the generations, peer pressure, society, sexual equality, the 'Sisterhood' the ladette culture etc-etc. I see young+ girls openly urinating or engaging in sex acts in the park at the bottom of my garden, in shop doorways etc (I think you get the picture) & this is in daylight, then there's the fighting, getting pi$$3d & puking everywhere - - - it is known that more females than males are arrested for drunk & disorderly conduct these days, they seem to have no shame.
I could go on - - but - -.
Perhaps this book you read should be introduced into the school curriculum for girls. (now awaiting a visit from the sexual equality board) but then that would be shot to hell, when parents dress their little 4yr old girls up sexually with playboy branded outfits & the like, then would up in arms complain if they attracted the attention of the local perv or where sexually active. Anyway - - back to your posting - - -
>>I FEEL as if all guys are the same<< Same could be said for women, but no we're NOT - - are we?.
>>some are soo interested in you and will do anything to be near you for one minute and the next, they don't like you;<< Yes, that is about 60% true, with others it's called the 'thrill of the chase', yes we will work hard to get you, then when we do - - - some will 'relax' so to speak & feel we don't need to try so hard.
>>some will only be nice to you because they just want that one thing.<< Players are like that, can spend months working on a 'mark' if it's an advantage, (money, sex, power)
>>some will lie and believe they can get away with it;<< (That also goes both ways) But then isn't that down to - - Tolerance, (letting them get away with little lies) - -Stupidity, (allowing the lies to escalate without check, or he/she can change) or - - Low self esteem - - (but "he/she loves me really, that's what love is')
>>some just waste your time for attention bc they're either bored or lonely;<< True! But again - Both sexes are guilty of this.
As for your headline - - >>Do nice girls finish last? And do men really like b*tches?<< I & many others could 'ASK' the same thing. There are plenty of women who've broken a good mans heart or family up (sometimes abandoning the kids too) due to their actions. Men (rich & poor) who've worshiped the ground, treated them nice, only for them to go of with the local tattooed biker or the likes.
My ex (Claire) of 6yrs (I' knew her for many years earlier) while with me, kept her options open & started a relationship with an abusive drug taking ex con (arson & burglary) who still robs people & (allegedly) had/has a unhealthy interest in children because - she said - WAIT FOR IT - - "he can change, he deserves a second chance" (yes she enjoyed telling me & rubbing my nose in it), Karma though - - within a month of us parting, she was pregnant, engaged & married in that order, let herself go,gave up her law degree courses, then lost her job in a big law firm, unhappy in an abusive marriage, struggling to keep a roof over her head, self esteem back to square one etc. Believe it or not though, I still love her & worry about her (& daughter) - - but - - hey-ho.
But Yes! there are good people with morals & standards out there for us Nurse, (a bit like virgins - eh)? =0) - We - - - - - just - have to - - keep looking.
Best wishes.

rambling thoughts...comment on my song please?
Q. these words are inspired from a vivid dream i had the other night.

"sharpie tattoos"

Im a feeling without a shadow
Don’t shine light I swear im allergic
Try to create me a friend
And find failure’s the only option
I said, you said, they said
The sun is god among all
Like a titan, a vigilante deity
We decide, commit deicide
Are there cracks forming in my atoms?
My skin is leaking electricity
Fortune tellers foretold this light show
Doctors will stitch the fissures

Any moment we’ll tear down these walls?
Any moment these walls will close in on us?

A bridge that links my memories
Past, present, future leads
To sharpie tattoos connecting
The murals painted on my arms
I see your beauty laid out in henna
A visual woman such as yourself
Can paint my eyes in three dimensions
Deep blue in 2D…too deep in 3D
Music drives into my ears on the dance floor
Like a marionette my feet will alternate
Under the spin light
My life goes beat beat beat

Will we tear down these walls?
Will these walls close in on us?

Like the crowd I’m moving among
My courage is bought from behind a bar
It has a taste and a bite
Like a devil in disguise
I pray when I wake it’s still just a dream
That these sharpie tatts don’t fade away
Like the history I’ve left behind
But my dancing will pass the time
I’m short in change for a phone booth taxi call
Walking can be such a drag
But if it’s a full moon the man will fall
Down to home
And his decent is orchestrated by passing star lights

Tear down these walls
Don’t let them close in on us
just a little more info for you. lyrics aren't suppose to flow like a story or pertain along a specific subject line. its based on a dream i had that was full of randomness. i found little truths throughout the dream, hence the lines that jump around, like my dream did.

oops haha....

A. YOu have lots of meaningful lines in here. They are amazing. But sometimes they don't quite fit with the song. But you said in the question *rambling thoughts* so the lines in Sharpie tattoos fit together for you. I like every line in her. They are really deep. When I tried to picture a music video I saw it skipping to different scenes all schizophrenic. So Sharpie Tattoos could be about a schizophrenic.

Over all the lines are amazing. YOu did tend to go off topic but as you said they are rambling thoughts. :)
