What will happen to my tattoo if i get it and my body gets bigger later?

Q. Im a pretty small guy and I am going to get a tattoo on my shoulder and bicep, if i get the tattoos now and later on in life i get a bit bigger, what will happen to the tattoos? will the design get ruined? will it be fine? will it stretch and be okay with the body?

A. Your body will start to stretch and become wrinkly as you age, so your tattoo will become stretched and wrinkly too. I've seen a 60 year old woman once with all these tattoos on her, they look absolutely disgusting, they were all stretched out and they looked wrinkly. I couldn't even make out properly some of her designs. She had one on the back of her shoulder and that was okay, except for the wrinkles. As for the bicep, I am not too sure. You can always look up pictures of old people with tattoos on google to see what it looks like.
You know you can just get one now and when it starts to look ugly just get it removed, it will leave a scar, but anything is better than a wrinkly tattoo loool.

Good luck :)

What is your view on women with tattoos?
Q. I work for Raven Tattoo Care, a tattoo aftercare product, and only hear one side of the story, people who have made tattooing their life! Big tattoos on the calves, on the shoulder, the low back - do you think they are pretty and make a girl/woman look more attractive or not? You can guess where I stand on the issue, but I am curious what the general population thinks - does this make you look differently at the person, as if they are lower class/trashy - or do you see it as something beautiful, a work of art, an expression of who the person is? Just interested in opinions.

A. as someone who also works in the business i get to see both opinions, and agree that both are right. There are women out there who are simply trailer trash and have a tramp stamp on their lower back simply to make people look at their ass (in my opinion most v shaped flash tribal down there is simply an arrow). I do see that as an expression of who they are, trashy.

However there are others, myself included, who have a true piece of artwork on their back. The style i have looks like the flowers are airbrushed on and people always want to touch it to see if its actually real or not. Never has anyone called it trashy. i dont see it as a personal expression of anything because i didnt get it to say ive got a tattoo there or even because i like that design more than anything in the world. It was a gift from my mentor and it was more a bonding experience than anything else. i dont think it makes me any different a person than i was before.

What kind of tattoos do girls like on a guy?

Q. What kind of tattoos do girls find attractive on a guy and where at?

A. None. Having a lot of drawings on arms, legs, back, stomach, neck...wherever else a man can think of defiling his body is a turn off for most women.

What are your favourite types and places for it?
Q. What are your favourite tattoo ideas/types and where do you like them.
(On Female)

A. On females, there are no good tattoos to put any place on the body. Your body is not a canvas. A canvas is not alive, it is a thing. Your body is alive, it is not a thing. Your body is the temple in which the Holy spirit given to you by God resides. You devalue and disrespect your body, yourself and the Lord who made you when you call your living body a "canvas" and allow it to be permanently profaned by ugly cartoon drawings.

Research shows that women face more social stigma than men regarding tattoos. Women with tattoos are more likely to have them removed because of embarrassment, body image, or career concerns. Researchers from Texas Tech University found that women with tattoos are more than twice as likely to have them removed (as compared to men with tattoos). Most women are happy with tattoos when they get them, but their feelings changed within the next one to five years. In this study, women found that tattoos began to cause embarrassment, and stopped being a source of uniqueness. Women with tattoos often have to hide them, which limits clothing options and increases feelings of self-consciousness.

What's your opinion regarding women with tattoos?

Q. I'm writing for a blog and I'm trying to get your opinion on this subject.
Thank you!!

A. I believe that women, just like men look great with tattoos. Some don't look right, but they just have to be tied together nicely. I believe that they look even nicer if you haven't seen that tat already on the three other people in front of them. It is a way to express their creativity, beliefs, or in some cases their stupidity. But all in all, they are a memory, good or bad, that they wanted to remember always. Hope this helps :)

Where is getting a tattoo the most painful?
Q. Is it where it's really bony?

I want a tattoo on the back of my neck like this..
http://cityrag.blogs.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/05/23/tila_tattoos_1.jpg

but there's this huge bump on the back of my neck..(like lower where the spine starts)
i'm really skinny so the bone there really sticks out. is it gonna hurt super bad when it reaches the bony bump?

A. The amount of pain you feel totally depends on you on personal sensitivity. Generally woman can handle pain better than men. If this is your first tattoo then you will find it uncomfortable as it's something you have never felt before. Your size(skinny/fat) wont affect how painful it is as body fat is not a form on protection to the pain tattoos cause. Generally your rib cage is thought to be most painful but like I said it depends on how you, yourself handle pain.

What happens if you got a tattoo right before I found I was pregnant?

Q. Just curious what affects that could have on me or my unborn child! I went in and got a tattoo around my ankle and 2 weeks later I found out pregnant. I am currently around 6wks along.

Why are sak yant tattoos tattooed on the back?
Q. Everywhere I look they are tattooed on the person's back and was wondering why? Is there a reason why it's done there?

A. I do not know why the majority of tattoos are often on the back particularly among male military members who were the first ones to get sak yant tattoos originally in Tibet, but for some reason most women I have seen pictures of seem to have them on their lower stomach, over their wombs. Since the sak yant is for protection perhaps women hope to protect their ability to bring children into the world or even protect their children while they are in the womb. It is interesting to say the least.

What is it about Asian women that enjoy Men with Swastikas tattooed on their Chests?

Q. My ex-Japanese girlfriend said it was very Holy in Japan.
And I often got free lunches by displaying it at restaurants.
My new Korean girlfriend said it is highly revered in Korea.
And every-time I go to the Gym, there's these Vietnamese Twins that bow to me and say they can make me real happy.

I come to America, and everybody has a Hissy-fit about it.

A. That these men are blessed by the Buddhas and worthy to be with.
Either in a previous life their minds went towards the Dharma.
And this gesture of memory indicates their minds are pure, and worth the companionship.

Do Japanese and Korean women like to show cleavage like Westerners do?
Q. I am a Japanese American and I recently noticed lots of women in United States like to show cleavage (perhaps as a fashion trend). I have not visited Japan or Korea but do women in those countries generally follow in the fashion trend of showing cleavage?
Thanks.

A. No. In the Far East, only prostitutes show their cleavage. It's generally considered disgusting and disgraceful.

@ What The...: What in Japan is influenced by America? Pokemon? Digimon? Hello Kitty? Kanji tattoos? Anime? Sushi bars? Your TV? Your laptop? Your camera? The scene trend? The emo trend? I think you'll find that there's a lot more things in the West that have been STOLEN or BORROWED from the Japanese than the other way round.

You have clearly never travelled to the Far East. I personally have been to Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia and Thailand and honestly? I couldn't see anything that was of any Western influence or production.

What do you think of girls with tattoos just below pants levels?

Q. many women have what some called tramp stamps. Do you think it is a sign of a sexual easy woman?

A. Having any tattoo or the location of any tattoo isn't a indication of someone's sexual promiscuity.

Tattoos have nothing to do with someone being sexually active or not...just as not having any tattoos doesn't indicate that either.

What can you tell about a woman who wears a flower tattoo on her upper right shoulder blade ?
Q. O.K. I recently had a falling out with a woman who always refered to me as her best friend. I caught her in tons of lies during our ,so-called, friendship and the rest of the time she just baffled me with her evasive personality and quirks. She had the most amazing flower tattoo (I think it was supposed to be an Iris or Orchid ) on her upper right shoulder blade.
I see in various magazines that alot of attention has been given to tattoos ,their art and body location and what they can tell about the person.
Any one have some thoughts on what I didn't know about my ex friend based on her tattoo ??
By the way I'm still crazy ,mad in love with her. I suppose my tattoo should be "Fool 4 love" across my forehead.

A. It means she likes flowers. And tattoos. Ta-da!!! Magic.

where to find a cheap tattoo kit?

Q. My brother is doing an apprenticeship with this tattoo guy and i want to surprise him for Christmas with a tattoo kit but i am on a budget because of all the stuff i have to buy but i would like a reasonable one. Please let me know thanks.

A. if he is active in an apprenticeship do not buy him a kit. he will most likely receive equipment from the artist. the machines and equipment in these so called professional kits are cheap for a reason. there is only one "kit" i have ever run across that i would consider suggesting and that is from new york tattoo. they have a pretty descent kit for a bit under 500.00. again, the rest of them are cheap for a reason. the machines are not any good and built with cheap materials. good machines are built by artists that know what they are doing and the best materials are. they use there time, there passion for the art and there knowledge in order to create a good machine.

here is a link to a kit, if i had to, would recommend.
http://www.newyorktattoo.com/intermediate_tattoo_kit_1944_prd1.htm

but again, i strongly suggest you not getting him a kit. just give him the money you would have spent on a kit. when he gets to the point in his apprenticeship when he actually begins to do some work he will use the artists equipment. when he begins to do his own stuff he will by then have a preference when it comes to the equipment he likes. a tattoo artist and the equipment he prefers is worst than a woman and her shoes...LOL

Fiction Books that take place in New York City?
Q. I want a fiction book that takes place in New York City. I looked over the internet a little but didnt find too much of my interest. Here is what I found( I put the summary so you can see what type of book I am looking for):

Candace Bushnell-4 Blondes
Summary: Come to the playgrounds of Manhattans powerful and beautiful. Get an insiders look at the romantic intrigues, liaisons, and betrayals among the elite. This novel chronicles the lives of four beautiful womena model, a columnist, a socialite, and a writeras they face turning points in which each must choose between her passions.

J.M Mcdonell-Half Crazy
Summary:Miranda, a beautiful blond from Arkansas, moves into a New York "garden" (a big city euphemism for basement) apartment with an unfinished dirt floor. It's like a bad joke: she has come to make it big as a fashion model. As she moves in with her dog, Pete, she meets upstairs neighbor David, who's gay and writes bad romance novels. She and David fast become good friends. What's more, within days Miranda lands a big fashion job, and within months her face is on the covers of major magazines. But, jealousy and trouble soon follow.

Lauren Henderson-Strawberry Tattoo
Summary:Sam Jones, sculptress and reluctant sleuth, can't resist the opportunity to do Manhattan when she's invited to New York for a group show at a gallery featuring young British artists. New York, loud and brash as Sam herself, welcomes her with open arms and plenty of her favorite margaritas. She's even reunited with Kim, a best friend from childhood who's transformed herself into a quintessential New Yorker, complete with weekly spinning classes and an East Village studio apartment. Despite Sam's promise to stay out of trouble, however, trouble keeps finding her -- one of the gallery's employees is found strangled in Central Park's Strawberry Fields not long after Sam arrives, and the gallery itself has been trashed with graffiti. While Sam's new Manhattan friends pop Prozac and fret about the police investigation, the rest of the young Brits turn up in New York, including the one Sam drunkenly groped in a club not so long ago. Will the exhibition be a success? Will Sam's current boyfriend -- the dashing actor Hugo -- find out about her moment of abandon? And will the details of the strawberry tattoo give away the murderer's identity before Sam herself becomes a target?

It dosn't have to be about crime...I perfer not. want something that has to do with love, life or dreams such as the books above. Also something that dosn't takes Place in the olden days. Some book that takes place in the modern day.

Please tell me the books that you have found and a short summary of it. THANKS!

P.S.I love N.Y! lol.

A. The Clique

Although the characters in the book go to many different places, most of the action in the stories take place in Westchester County, New York. The girls go to school at Octavian Country Day School (OCD), a private all-girls school. Other incidents occur at the Briarwood Academy (OCD's boys school), the Westchester mall, and at various characters' houses.

Massie Block: Massie Block is the alpha (leading) member of her group of friends (known collectively as the "Pretty Committee"). This clique is at the head of the 'food chain' at their prestigious private school, Octavian County Day (OCD). Usually she is the most popular in her group. She is very spoiled and is usually very snobbish, but she has a vulnerable side that shows up when she is under pressure. Massie is known for her wardrobe (designer labels), her quick wit, and her desire to shine above everyone.

Alicia Rivera: Alicia Rivera is Massie's beta (second in command), but her personality doesn't quite shine like Massie's does. Alicia is also a bit kinder in nature than Massie, but tends to be a gossip. Alicia is also known for her wardrobe (heavily influenced by Ralph Lauren), and for her exotic beauty (her mother is an internationally-known Spanish model).

Dylan Marvil: Dylan Marvil is the Pretty Committee's source to the showbiz world, for her mother is famous talk show host for a television show called The Daily Grind. Dylan is bubbly and talkative. Her trademarks are her fiery red hair, her brightly colored style, and her obsession with her weight. (She has tried various fad diets, but does not stick to any of them for very long).

Kristen Gregory: Kristen Gregory is an all-star soccer player at school. However, she is by no means a tomboy. She is a fan of designer clothes, but she cannot afford them (her father, a former rich art dealer, lost his money prior to the series' inception). Kristen is highly intelligent (She is on a scholarship at OCD) and beautiful with her long blond hair. Her trademarks are playing word games, being athletic and avoiding being caught by her parents.

Claire Lyons: Claire Lyons moved from Orlando, Florida to Westchester, New York. Her dad was good friends with Massie's dad in college, so the Blocks allow them to move into the guesthouse. Claire's family is not rich and privileged like the other girls, so she has a hard time adjusting. She is known for her individualism, her non-designer style, and her Keds.

A. generally, i dont aprove of tattoos because, when you think about it, in say 70 years the tatoo is going to be faded and saggy and chances are you will regret it. however, this tattoo has an actually meaning to you and i think that it will always remind you of your dead loved one. i say go for it, and im sorry for you loss.

What tattoo symbolizes strength and independence?

Q. i want a new tattoo but im not sure what the symbol iss, can somebody helpp? and jus answer the question i already have tattoos and they all have meaning

A. How about a Dragon, Panther, Or Tiger.

It's what it means to you that counts such as a woman i saw with a butterfly tattoo that symbolized the passing on of one of her family, to me first glance i thought butterfly, freedom, etc. but to the person that gets it it can take on various meanings and hold memories.

Just a realization I had.

Why does the media keep pushing adulterers in our face every hour of the day?
Q. I can't turn on the TV without hearing about somebody cheating on their spouse in hollywood. Let's give them airtime and publicity for devastating and sometimes ruining the life of their supposed "loved one". John Edwards, Jesse James, Tiger Woods, all gained by the media continuing to talk about their despicable affairs while we at home have to listen to that crap just to watch the weather on the local news. And if you've ever been cheated on all it is is a painful reminder of what you went through personally as well!

Agree?

A. I agree. I'm sick of hearing about not only cheaters like Jesse James, but also idiots like Jon and Kate Gosselin, people who push plastic surgery (like Kim Kardashian telling her mother "every day" to get her neck done (her mom said that on Entertainment Tonight)), and also the people who the celebs cheat with (like that Tattooed woman Jesse was with). Why are we giving all of these losers and idiots (like Spencer Pratt, too) any attention and time?

Help! How do we get those ugly people off the Yahoo email page?

Q. You know what pictures I'm talking about: That woman holding that really ugly baby, the woman with tattoos all over her arms (those are fake, by the way. NO ONE would put Yahoo and Facebook tattoos on their arms), and that dweeb with the glasses and long nose. Whenever I log in and these people come onto my screen, I want to vomit! Will someone tell me how to get them off the Yahoo Mail page?

A. My picture changes to a Chevy SUV and of course the tattoed woman. Click Keep me signed in for 2 weeks and you won't have to look at them so often. We can't get rid of it, it's Yahoo's programming. If you sign in every 2 weeks then all you have to do in enter your password and you are in.

What would you do about this situation?
Q. What would you do if your boyfriend or girlfriend got married women girls name from work tattoo to their arm? Well my boyfriend did this after I left him the first time because we was rushing things and it got out of hand plus we was planning a wedding, but anyways my boyfriend got those married woman name on his arm plus his sister, and underneath it, it says best friends. Do you think he needs to get it covered or put my name on his arm too? I think he needs to show some respect!

A. Oh brother. If you don't like it, then talk to him about it.

Q. I think it's a hip hop or pop song. Thanks for the help! =)

A. Bossy by Kelis!
Here are the lyrics:
Hey ya.
You don't have to love me
You don't even have to like me
But you will respect me
You know why?
Cuz I'm a boss!

[Chorus - Kelis:]
I'm bossy
I'm the first girl to scream on a track
I switched up the beat of the drum
That's right, I brought all the boys to the yard
And that's right, I'm the one that's tattooed on his arm
I'm bossy
I'm the bitch you love to hate
I'm the chick that's raised the stake
I told young stunna he should switch to Bape
I'm back with an 808 'cause I'm bossy

Ooh, lemme slow it down for ya so you can catch the flow (catch the flow)
Screw it up make it go extra slow (extra slow)
Real girls get down on the flo' (on the flo' get down, on the flo')
Ooh, I gave you a taste you want some more (touch down)
On it like a pro
I ride the beat like a bicycle, I'm icy cold
Ooh, from the 6-4 hoppers up in crenshaw
The money making playas up in Harlem
Don't want no problem
We gon' keep it bumping while the 808 is jumping

Diamonds on my neck, di-diamonds on my grill

Ooh, (I bet, I bet) I bet cha neva heard it like this before (this before)
My baby be cruising them phantom doors (phantom doors)

To the money making playas up in Harlem

How do I gain my mom's trust back & how do I apologize to her?
Q. A little over a month ago I was on tumblr and whatnot and I saw a girl with a side-shave. if you don't know what that is, it's when the side of your hair is shaved. I thought it was cool so I asked my mom if I could do it and my mother being the close-minded woman she is, said no. I honestly contemplated it over a series of weeks and I pulled my hair back several times to see what it would look like and I honestly really loved it. I shaved it off but the thing is, I did like under my hair so it's not obvious at all unless you pull my hair back. Today my mom saw it and she freaked out and started hitting me (not hard or anything) and screaming at me. I know I shouldn't have done it but my mom is one of the close-minded people that thinks they're always right and how you should never have tattoos, ears piercing, black nail polish is the devil's shit, and all that kind of bull. Then when we get home she starts screaming about how I probably do drugs and shit and I HAVE NEVER DONE DRUGS. Even though all of my friends do and they constantly me offer it, I always say no because I know disappointed my parents would be if they found out. I shaved the side of my head, so?!?!? It's hair right? It'll grow back. It's not like I went and smoked a bunch of weed and got arrested.
Now my mom is screaming at me and she won't even allow me to talk to her because every time I try to get a sentence out of my mouth, she starts screaming. I had plans to meet my favorite actor ever on friday and my mom knows how much this means to me because he's my favorite actor in the entire world and I finally scored tickets to meet him and my mom won't let me go now. It's honestly a bunch of bull and I just want to know how I can get her to forgive me and allow me to go? I'm 16 by the way and i kind of just read over this, I swear i'm not as bratty as this is making me seem. I'm all in all, a really good kid and I get good grades and this is probably the 2nd mistake i've made in my entire teenage years.

I honestly didn't think my mom would freak out this much about my hair and hasdifhaskdfh asd,. How do I apologize to her?

Thanks in advance!

A. Sounds just like my mom.

I know they might seem unreasonable sometimes, but you just have to stick through it for a few more years. You can have all the freedom you want when you turn 18, but as long as you're still a teenager you'd be wise to follow your parents' orders, no matter how stupid they may seem.

Life lesson aside, the best thing to do is calmly (and I really mean CALMLY) apologize to your mom, promise it'll never happen again, give her some sad sob story about how you just wanna talk to her normally again, and hope she forgives you. Trying to argue or reason with her will only make it worse for both of you.

How important is "originality" in a tattoo design?

Q. Check out this quote from an interview with Pat Fish (a woman tattoo artist world famous for her Celtic designs). It came out in 2003:

"College students cast about for something with meaning. The great default is something written in Japanese. It's low commitment, and they can feel wicked and tattooed. Frankly, a tiny kanji looks better than a miniscule rose. We call those 'zits on sticks.' The most common tattoo we do, besides kanji, is suns. Especially on girls' lower backs. For the last four or five years, we've done at least one a day. I hung a sign on the front door of my house that says, 'This is the bungalow that suns on butt cracks bought.'" ......

"We work out of files. I have a file of just suns. That way, I don't have to keep drawing the same thing. After the customer looks at 500 different suns, one-third will pick the same sun. It's the logo for this generationLeo Zulueta's tribal sun. Then they can make it even more meaningful by putting a kanji in the center! My mantra about that is, 'The baker doesn't complain when the muffins sell well.' So, if we bake another dozen kanji, we're happy to do it!"
(source: http://www.luckyfish.com/controversial.html)

Hmmm...Whats the logo for THIS generation?

Here is the artists cynical viewpoint. Most are probably sick of doing the same unoriginal pieces. (Earlier in this article she says Thats what employees are for!)

But there is also a value in the standard design; everyone needs to be familiar with it so its standard meaning comes across. If every traffic light used different colors to mean stop and go, it would be really confusing.

Your thoughts?
I walked by Pat Fish's shop today (it's really close to my house) and peeked in....there is a whole HUGE wall of kanji flash, with the meanings of each character! I can really sympathize with her cynical attitude, but this just made the shop look really bad!

A. I completely feel sorry for tattoo artists who do 3-4 tramp stamps a day. As a piercing apprentice I feel as if I might scream every time some generic girl comes in to get either her tongue, her belly button, or both pierced. You can't blame people though, we're all victims trying to look cool. Some of us might not go out and get tattooed on a whim, but we will express it in other ways.

What is so bad about a women getting a tattoo on her forearm?
Q. I am wanting to get a tattoo of my daughters name and the japanese symbol for daughter on my left forearm but my husband doesnt want me to get a visibal tattoo. He told me that its tacky for women to have visibal tattoos..Does any other guy think that?

A. I am a women and I dont feel anything wrong with it. Its far from tacky.I recently just got a half sleeve and I love it. I dont regret it and I got it for me, no one else but for myself. If someone doesnt like it then Oh well it not on them. My fiancee was pretty cautious about me getting it but I convinced him of how bad I did. Now he loves it. It makes me who I am. I got a picec of art on me that will always be there and I will always be proud of it and of who I am. I say if it would make you happy then why not?? IF you do go forth with it good luck and Im sure your husband will like it after its all done, besides its there forever he wont have a choice :)

What is your opinion on a woman with a tattoo on her breast?

Q. What is peoples opinion of a tattoo on a womans breast, like on the top area??
Im thinking of getting a little devil there

A. Its not lady like. Its not cute at all. If you have a good business job and in the summer time you want to wear shirts that are round or V-neck. You might be able to see your tattoo, and its just not lady like.

PLUS your taking your boobs out infront of an tattoo artist. NOT CUTE!

Why is the majority of women not in favor of tattooing their breasts?
Q. Tattooed breasts are most sexy, if blouses worn are low-cut with plunging neckline.

A. tattoos on the breast are not very attractive, especially when the lady becomes older and the breast begin to sag.

What do you think of Mothers with tattoos?

Q. My father-in-law always is saying that it is not right for mothers to have tattoos. That what am I going to tell me kids when they ask me what the tattoo is?

I totally think he is wrong. Either way I just want to hear everybody opinion.

Thanks!

A. He clearly forgets that women aren't born as mothers ~ we may or may not become them.

When I first discussed getting a tattoo, some self-opinionated woman I didn't even know kept saying "Just imagine how terrible it will look when you're 50 and a grandma". I chose to ignore her as the image-driven idiot she clearly was.

I still intend to have at least two tattoos, which I am working on designing, as they have very personal meanings to me. And I would hope that the man I eventually end up with would be the sort to understand why I have them. As for being a mother with tattoos, I would be proud to explain the reasons to my kids, and anyone else who questions it ~ "I had them done for *me*. Being a mother is only part of my life story".

Is there something that symbolizes staying strong and persevering?
Q. Is there something that symbolizes something alone the lines of staying strong, persevering and getting back up when you fall? Or something that represents overcoming some hardships? I've been doing some research for a tattoo that I may like to get and came across the koi fish but I'm not really feeling it for a tattoo. I was also looking at some lotus flower tattoos. Another thing I came across was the phoenix-rise from the ashes.

If anyone else can give some inspiration it would be greatly appreciated.

A. If your looking for something from nature then your headed in the right direction. African cats (lions etc) are a great survival symbol. Or if you like the lotus flower maybe you could have it set in a desert background representing beauty and survival in a harsh climate? The lotus flower is definitely a favorite for women! lol Pretty flower. :) My sister in law mentioned something about roses having many different meanings according to their color and maturity the other day when I was giving her a rose tatt. :) You might do a little research on that? Good luck. If i have any epiphanies I will let you know. :) I like celtic symbolism but it sounds like thats not what your looking for.

Is it true that if a woman gets a tattoo on her lower back, that she cannot have an epidural?

Q. Im wondering because my girlfriend wants one and someone told me they wont give you an epidural during labor if you have a tattoo on your lower back.

A. "You should have no concern whatsoever in placing a needle through a tattoo and into the spinal or epidural space, as the pigment particles are "fixed" and stationary within the dermis, and cannot be mobilized by the needle or migrate along the needle track. There is really no danger at all in inserting a needle through tattooed skin."

http://www.painfreebirthing.com/english/tattoo.htm

"PubMed apparently did some research on this theory and concluded that there are no conclusions and no proof to substantiate this theory. [link=http://www.bmezine.com/risks/index.html]BME[/link] quickly dismisses this as an urban legend, but one pervasive enough that even doctors have been known to believe it. Tattooz.net's medical expert says, "The needle would go through the epidermis, dermis and into the areas where the anesthesia is infiltrated without difficulty", but wisely advises that anyone in this situation get personal professional advice from their own anesthesiologist."

Any pregnant women with tattoos on their stomachs?
Q. I have two large tattoos on my lower abdomen (right on top of each hip bone) and I'm really worried about how much they'll stretch. My tattoo artist told me she can re-touch them after I give birth if they "morph" (i love her choice of words) but I was just wondering how severely they will be affected. Anyone pregnant or have had babies with tattoos anywhere on their stomachs?

A. I had a small tattoo on my right abdomen. Not only did it grow (almost doubled in size) but I had stretch marks go right through it. I don't think they can tattoo over stretch marks, and if they can I don't even want to think about how much that would hurt. I'm not too concerned about the tattoo, though, cause my stomach will never see the light of day again :)

Your opinions on tattoo placement?

Q. I'm trying to figure out where I should get my next tattoo (a Cheshire Cat in black and grey). The ability to cover it isn't much of a concern since I passed that point when I got my forearm tattooed. I'm quite fond of the idea of getting it on my stomach along the curve of my hip bone (Example: http://www.ratemyink.com/images/ul/278/Vines-and-Flowers-tattoo-27869.jpeg). I know many people think "Oh my god don't get tattooed there," so what's your opinion of that placement? I'm 5'9 and 130 lbs, I do A LOT to keep my figure, and having kids is out of the question for me...
I also like the idea of getting it on my ribs (http://www.tattoostime.com/images/234/compass-tattoo-on-rib-side.jpg), or my lower back (http://tattoos-and-art.com/wp-content/gallery/lower-back/side.jpg).

What are some other places that come to mind? What are some possible pros and cons about those placements? Also, I eventually want to get a back piece, so I wouldn't want it on my shoulder or anything.

I know that it's ultimately my decision to make, but hell, maybe you guys could give me some ideas :)

One more question that's somewhat unrelated to the preceding one, what's your opinion of chest tattoos on women? (http://www.tattoo-pics.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/chest-tattoos.jpg) ...not necessarily the tattoo itself, just the placement of it.
Damn, it appears that none of the links I posted are correct -_- sorry about that. I think I explained the hip bone and chest tattoos well enough already
by "on my ribs" I mean on my side, around where my bra strap would be
and by "my lower back" I mean where a "tramp stamp" might be, but higher up and to the side. It wouldn't cover the entire width of my back either.
Sorry about the links :-/

A. Tattoos are super cool! But chest tattoos arent right for women. In my opinion. I feel like placing on right above your cleavage is just asking for attention and might draw in the wrong kind of people. And Please do not get it on your lower back or chest. No tramp stamps gurll. I think your hip bone might be a good idea! I think full back pieces are also really cool

http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lpzsr3n99a1qfk6vyo1_500.jpg I think this one is really cool!!!
Or the cheshire cat going from your stomach to your back. Almost like climbing up you would look super cool

http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8wuwr5UCM1r37qzbo1_500.jpg
Chandelier tattoos are really cool for backs. I would totally do a cheshire cat hanging from a chandelier on your back that owud look sick!!! Also pick the right tattoo artist. Never try going for the cheapest tattoo when its something that will be on your body for the rest of your life!

Sexually abused tattoo ideas???!?!?
Q. Ok so When i was 9 years old, i was sexually abused. Im currently seeing a therapist and I'm getting better. I want to get a tattoo that symbolizes that part of my life. To show that I'm a survivor. my problem is I don't know what tattoo I want to get. Do u have any creative ideas for a tattoo. I have an idea of just tattooing survivor but I want something to symbolize that. Oh and I'm 18.

A. teal is the awareness ribbon color, you could also get a kanji symbol for strength.

I was very close to getting an upside down panda on my shoulder blade
http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m1oxwkVkxK1rsd5qvo1_400.jpg

my father abused me when I was younger, and I fell into a depression from it, I battled depression for over 10 years, and it still comes back at times. The panda can symbolize depression and upside down is like turning yourself around from the depression.
I decided against it however, bc I wanted to move on from it all. Plus pandas are my favorite animals and I hate to think of them in a depressing way.

If you are religious, a simple teal cross with the word strength, or somethign might be a good idea.
If you want something intricate, Maybe a tree with a womans body as the trunk, with some blue leaves coming down or blowing in the wind.

a dove, with the awareness ribbon in its beak?,
example:

an infinity symbol with the ribbon like this but teal not pink

How about something that inspires you?

or a quote

give me life, give me pain, give me myself again

If you always watch the demons behind you, then you will never see the angels ahead.

If youre going through hell, keep going.

Awareness ribbon with angel wings would look nice too

How much times do u have to bleach your hair to get to platinum blonde?

Q. Ok so my hair is dark brow and i bleached it twice and it like a and orangey brow gold yellow color and uts already toned hheellpp

A. Before I answer read the following:
Personality & health risks.
There is a strong belief among some people that a persons hair color can tell you some about their personality.  A new study out of Harvard suggests hair color can also tell you about a persons health risks
Top doctors say you can tell a lot about a persons health from their hair color:
-Blondes have a higher risk of melanoma, especially on their scalps, and should always wear a hat in direct sunlight.
-Brunettes are more likely to suffer from hair loss, and can help prevent it by getting enough iron (dark leafy vegetables are high in iron).
-And a Harvard study finds redheads may have a 90% greater chance of developing Parkinsons Disease because of a specific gene mutation. Housecall for Health, Im Colleen Cappon, FOX News Radio. 12-10-12

A WOMAN was temporarily blinded when her face swelled up "like a football" following what she told was a severe reaction to hair dye.
Carmen Rowe, 25, from Swansea was hospitalised for three days after using the Clairol 'Nice n' Easy' natural black colour. She said: "I lost my job, all for the sake of a glamorous hairstyle. I just want to warn parents what could happen." She claimed she carried out a skin test 48 hours before using the dye without a problem and has been colouring her hair since she was 13. March 3, 2012.

Google: Teen 'feared she would die' after reaction to hair dye
The allergic reaction was caused by a well-known brand of semi-permanent hair dye Chloe used to turn her hair black for a Halloween party. . . . . called for beauty bosses to ban hair dye chemical PPD (para-phenylenediamine) from the shelves. 11-04-11

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. Its made from coal tar and is used in both permanent and semi-permanent hair colours. Its well-known to be a cause of serious allergic reactions -- including something called contact dermatitis which can lead to rashes, blisters, and open sores.
PPD is sometimes added to black henna tattoos and that using them is not safe. Allergic reactions usually begin within two to 10 days following application. One bad reaction can lead to sensitivities to other products such as hair dye, sunblock and some types of clothing dyes. Oftentimes, it's using the product a second or third time.

The British woman who went into coma after a reaction to hair dye has died after a year. Updated 11-25-12. The woman suffered a heart failure, struggled for breath and became unconsciousness. Her family blamed paraphenylenediamine, a chemical found in hair colour. Her family has now called for paraphenylenediamine to be banned from home dye kits. In 2000, a 38-year-old Indian-origin woman from Birmingham, Narinder Devi, died after an allergic reaction to hair dye.

What is a good drug store dye to turn hair from naturally black to blonde?
Q. I have natural curly black hair and I want to dye it blonde myself to save money instead of going to a shop. Which dyes work the best with minimal damage?

Thanks

A. Without minimal damaged or hair loss? NONE that I recommend.
Style meets chemistry meets biology: We're talking hair coloring.

Playing with chemicals is not like playing with clothes, or doing a manicure, there are penalties for playing chemicals in the lab. Even hair color experts at the salon are not rocket scientists, they do a bang up dye jobs to their clients or their own hair.

Google: A 38-year old mother left in a coma after using hair dye. SHE DYED HER HAIR MANY TIMES BEFORE, USING THE SAME BRAND.

What is the safest way to lick a woman's back without incurring the wrath of God?

Q. HELP!!!! GOD has given me the desire to lick a woman's back without her knowledge i don't know why god made me this way but i know it is part of his devine plan and i don't wish to displease him. Bu also i don't want people to dislike me how can i lick a woman's honeyed backsweat without freaking her out?

A. the real God (Christian God: the Holy Trinity) created a set number of angels on the 2nd day...let's say 30 billion. 1/3 of all angels rebelled against God...10 billion...God turned the rebels into spiritual darkness aka demons. well, technically, God had mercy on them because He didn't kill them or send them straight to hell. God gave them a chance to repent of what they've done. so, demons had about at least 7000 years to ask God to forgive them. they didn't do it. so, now they'll burn in hell with all the people who follow them (aka witches/wizzards, astrologers/tarot card readers, mediums/seers, ghost hunters, etc.). well, of course, if these witches/astrologers/mediums/etc. repent of their sins and ask God to forgive them, God will forgive them. so, what I 'm saying, everybody's got a shot to go to heaven - they just have to ask God to forgive them their sins.
demons disguise themselves as ghosts, greys, aliens, pagan gods, etc. basically just everywhere u go (something paranormal or religious like ouija board, channeling, dead relatives during seances), it's the demons almost all the time. to fight demons, u gotta be a christian. here are some christians' thoughts. spread the warning, please.

Is it wise get a tattoo before switching branches?
Q. I want to get a tattoo, and active in the military at the moment. I plan to switch branches when my ETS comes near. Is it a good idea to get a tattoo before I switch? It will be on my forearm. I never had a tattoo so I'm really thinking about it.
Branch will be Navy.

A. So you want to get a tattoo...why? Do you think it makes you an individual or somehow a "rebel?"

Consider this - there are 47 MILLION Americans who are now tattooed. You can get your tattoo and compare it to the brand-new tats I see on women in their 70s and 80s. Sure makes them look tough and rebellious.

Be a real rebel...do NOT get a tattoo before switching services if you are too much of a mindless zombie not to get tattooed at all. Get the tat and risk switching services .

Whatever happened to individuals who wanted to be NON-conformists?

Guy Foot Tattoo.........?

Q. Would it be normal or okay if a guy got a foot tattoo? I found a maori design of a humpback whale and i think it would be awesome to get one on each outer side of my foot. However, I've never really seen a guy with a foot tattoo. Do you think it is normal for a guy to get a foot tattoo? Why or why not?

A. of course it would be OK. it hurts aswell so its even more manly than a normal tattoo. they are affiliated with women nowadays because they like to have small sexy tattoos that can be easily covered, but there is no reason men can't have them either.

Half-Sleeve Tattoo design for woman?

Q. I want to get a half-sleeve and am trying to decide what theme/design to do. I love animals, and want to get tattoos for my 2 dogs, but I don't want portraits, just paw prints and their names, so maybe not a sleeve for them...I just need ideas for a theme so when I talk to the artist I can have some ideas!!!
Thank you!

A. why don't you get something like paw prints on a trail with your favorite animals along the sides of the trails with maybe vines and things intricately winding around the path

Sleeve Tattoo?
Q. So I already have a tattoo on the top of my foot and on my left shoulder blade. I have really been thinking of getting a half sleeve done on my upper right arm...shoulder to mid bicep area. I really like the idea of getting something graceful and feminine since sleeves can look masculine. I've thought about doing a design with flowers and kind of giving it a graceful tribal effect with different kinds of flowers to represent different things preferably in black and white with maybe small light hints of color. What I would like to know is what people think of women who have sleeve tattoos/problems with jobs/design ideas...I am 20 soon to be 21. I'm not worried about what people will think of me. I am also an art major and want to go into special effects, special make-up effects, animation, etc. I'm going to design it myself and use this as a reference picture http://www.buzzfocus.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/kim-flower-sleeve-04.jpg

I also like this rose tattoo, where I would just use the top part of the rose on my shoulder and then add some smaller flowers and designs from the other link into it. I asked my mom what her favorite kind of flower was and roses were her first answer.

A. I love love love tattoos but I HATE tribal art. My friend did a really amazing half sleeve of a collage of marilyn monroe and other pin up models [she's not a lesbian, she just really admires them] try something along that line. It was so beautiful.

btw, i'm getting a half sleeve too. :]
