Q. I'm a good looking girl, I'm 25, olive skin, dark hair, slim and about 5'4 inches tall. I'm pretty straight laced and not very loud and would never have the guts to approach a guy. The problem is guys never approach me and it seems like guys are more into girls who have tattoos these days. I was thinking maybe if I got a tattoo, I would be seen in a different light by guys, maybe I look too boring and that's why they are not approaching? Who knows, what do you think?
A. NO! Never get a tattoo to "attract" guys! If you choose to get a tattoo do it because you have wanted one for a long time and have really thought long and hard about what design to get. Also consider wearing a fake tattoo on the area of your body you want to be tattooed. See what it feels like to walk around for a few weeks with a fake tattoo to make sure you really like the placement and idea of having a tattoo there permanently.
Also never ever get a tattoo on your lower back above your butt. Men call it a "tramp stamp" which means many people view women with lower back tattoos as "tramps" (meaning a slut, woman with low morals, etc). Even if the woman isn't a "tramp" it is really awful to have others immediately judge you harshly for having a lower back tattoo.
Also there are many men that DON'T like tattoos on women at all. So now you will be turning off all those men who dislike tattoos on women!
No guy will like you more if you get a tattoo! Don't waste your money and don't destroy your body with permanent ink!

Can stretch marks affect a lower back tattoo?
Q. I have been considering getting a tattoo for about 3 years. I want green flowing leaves across my lower back that curve and dip in toward a peach rose in the center of the design. The peach rose is a nod toward my husband and our wedding day since we had peach roses. This will be my first and only tattoo. I want to know how and if stretch marks and permanently alter a tattoo like this on my lower back?
A. Any tattoo can be affected by stretch marks. I have a lower back tattoo and I'm going on baby number two. I have never had a problem with stretch marks on my lower back. Most women chose to get a lower back tattoo because of the lower risk of stretch marks(you don't put weight on in this area while pregnant, usually) and the idea that you can hide it. As for not being able to get an epidural, that is an urban legend. There are people actually investigating this, but most women have no problem getting one(including me). The placement of an epidural is actually higher then the placement of a lower back tattoo(I'm a nursing student and learned this in Anatomy). Your design sounds beautiful and I wish you good luck on your tattoo.
