Question about tattoo placement?

Q. I am getting a tattoo of a camera to represent my grandmother. However, I am undecided on the placement for it. I either want it on my inner forearm or on my upper arm on the outside just under my shoulder. So, I have 2 questions,

1- Being a female will it look trashy on my upper arm when i wear a dress

2- If i got it on my inner forearm will the pain be ALOT worse than it will be on my upper outter arm (I hear that's the least painful spot)

A. I personally do not like either place on a woman for a camera tattoo.

Female - Placement of Tattoo?
Q. I am considering getting a tattoo, not too big but i want it to be in a place that is easily covered but i can show it if i want. I was considering somewhere on my back or ankle....first tattoo...

Also, which is better, tattoos with colour or b/w ones?

A. What we see the most for woman tattoos is tattoos on ankles, lower back, neck, wrists and behind the ears. there are subtle and easily hiddenwith clothes or watch for your wrist (for the neck and ears I'm assuming you have hair) and you can always show them off.

For color, It always depends on the size and details of the tattoo. A small tattoo with outlines and color, depending on where you get it, can end up pretty disastrous. You have to think ahead, meaning you will age and your skin will change too. If you do color big chances are you'll need more touchups than with B/W. Make sure you sit down with your tattoo artist and talk about your ideas before making a final decision. He/she is the best one to help you make a good decision and get something you can be proud to show off. Also make sure to check his/her portfolio prior to the meeting to make sure you like the style of art.

Good luck and enjoy your experience!

Tattoo placement for woman?

Q. My first is on my foot. I'm not sure where I would want my second to be. The most important thing is that I need it to be easily covered when wearing office attire. I would like to be able to see it without looking in a mirror, but I might be okay with it on my back/shoulder... I'm not entirely sure.

I'm still trying get the general idea of the tattoo I want- nothing is set in stone yet and I'll be considering exactly what I want and where I want it for probably a year before I actually get it done. I'm looking into designs including The Princess Bride and I like the idea of a buttercup and a black mask or a buttercup and a sword, possibly with "as you wish" added in.
Naomi... in what world is a wrist tattoo easily covered in office attire? You should read the entire question before you answer.
Ok, next time I'll specify that I have no desire to have my arms covered down to my hands every day at work for the rest of my life. Sorry if that can't be considered common sense that a female might actually want to wear 3/4 length sleeves or shorter.
Ashley-
I didn't ask advice on how to change my entire wardrobe so I could get a wrist tattoo. I'm glad yours works for you, but I'm not a jewelry person at all and I'm not willing to buy jewelry just to cover up a tattoo, nor am I willing to always wear a garment to cover all the way down to my hands.

A. Hey now, I have wrist tattoos and I work in an office. Today they are covered up with a blazer because it's cold out. Yesterday they were covered up in some awesome bangles that I got loads of compliments on. When the weather gets even colder, they will be covered up in various office appropriate sweaters. It's NOT that difficult to cover up a wrist tattoo.

That said, other places to get it include literally anywhere on your torso, or anywhere on your legs above your knees.

Tattoo Placement on a Woman?
Q. Do you think a tattoo between my shoulder blades or on my lower back would be more attractive?

Note: tattoo is a cross with a vine wrapped around it and will be about 4 inches in height.

A. Lower back tattoos are very hot. I don't care for sholder tattoos generaly. I was have to see the tattoo and your sholder. I love girls with tattoos. The lower back is my favorite.

Can stretch marks affect a lower back tattoo?

Q. I have been considering getting a tattoo for about 3 years. I want green flowing leaves across my lower back that curve and dip in toward a peach rose in the center of the design. The peach rose is a nod toward my husband and our wedding day since we had peach roses. This will be my first and only tattoo. I want to know how and if stretch marks and permanently alter a tattoo like this on my lower back?

A. Any tattoo can be affected by stretch marks. I have a lower back tattoo and I'm going on baby number two. I have never had a problem with stretch marks on my lower back. Most women chose to get a lower back tattoo because of the lower risk of stretch marks(you don't put weight on in this area while pregnant, usually) and the idea that you can hide it. As for not being able to get an epidural, that is an urban legend. There are people actually investigating this, but most women have no problem getting one(including me). The placement of an epidural is actually higher then the placement of a lower back tattoo(I'm a nursing student and learned this in Anatomy). Your design sounds beautiful and I wish you good luck on your tattoo.

How are tattoos on the rib cage looked at for men?
Q. So I'm a total tattoo newbie. I'd like to get something in the next year or so and have been thinking about placement. It's a stupid question, but like I know that there are some places on the body that are generally reserved for women, such as the lower back, around the belly button, sometimes the feet, etc. Is the rib cage generally an asexual location? For whatever reason I really like the looks of a rib cage tattoo, especially if they're kind of bigger.

A. I have both my sides, up to my ribs tattooed, I love it haha. And it looks great on guys!! I personally think that spot tattooed on anyone is attractive and awesome! Does hurt though ;]
