Teardrop tattoos meaning?

Q. I know a woman who has a teardrop tattooed below her eye. It is blue in color and is not filled in but just outlined. Is she just a want to be gangsta or a murderer?

A. Tear drop tattoos have many connotations.

For instant a tear drop tattoo that is just an outline can represent that a loved one has been killed. Sometimes it also means that the bearer was unsuccessful in an attempt at murder.

A filled in tear drop generally means a loved one was killed by other means than murder or a loved one has committed suicide.

A tear drop tear with an empty top and a full bottom means the that the bearer successfully avenged the murder of a loved one.

A tear drop can also be a tribute to a loved one died while the wearer was in jail.

However if the tattoo she bears was given to her in prison it generally she has murdered someone. Whether it be in or out of jail.

Would you feel comfortable having your daughter date a guy who had the playboy bunny logo tattooed on his back?

Q. And a naked woman tattooed on his chest. And also a tattoo of Che Guevara?

I ask because I'm 17, and my boyfriend is 18, and my parents feel really uncomfortable about his tattooes.
That's where my parents and I disagree, if he didn't respect women, then why would he have a woman tattooed on his body in the first place?

A. Is he rude? Disrespectful? Mean to you?

Personally i dont care what someone has tattoed on their body if they treat my daughter right its really meaningless.

Try to get your parents to see past the tattoos if he is nice to you then it shouldnt matter to them and they will hopefully see past his appearance to who he really is.

What do you think about older women with tattoos?
Q. so, im thinking about getting tattoos like crazy. Mostly on my arms. People always be like that's stupid what are you going to do when you get old, but im thinking if you're 80 with tattoos.. Who cares because you'll still look old just with tattoos. I mean if your 110, with or without tattoos, im pretty sure you're not going to be the most beautiful thing on the planet. Just send me you're opinion on this.

A. I would think, hey, there's an older woman with tattoos, she must be a unique, strong-willed person. I am getting close to forty, and have two full sleeves, leg tattoos, and back tattoos. I love all of my tattoos just as much today as I did back when I got them. I say, get settled into adulthood, then tattoo yourself crazy!!!

How important is "originality" in a tattoo design?

Q. Check out this quote from an interview with Pat Fish (a woman tattoo artist world famous for her Celtic designs). It came out in 2003:

"College students cast about for something with meaning. The great default is something written in Japanese. It's low commitment, and they can feel wicked and tattooed. Frankly, a tiny kanji looks better than a miniscule rose. We call those 'zits on sticks.' The most common tattoo we do, besides kanji, is suns. Especially on girls' lower backs. For the last four or five years, we've done at least one a day. I hung a sign on the front door of my house that says, 'This is the bungalow that suns on butt cracks bought.'" ......

"We work out of files. I have a file of just suns. That way, I don't have to keep drawing the same thing. After the customer looks at 500 different suns, one-third will pick the same sun. It's the logo for this generation—Leo Zulueta's tribal sun. Then they can make it even more meaningful by putting a kanji in the center! My mantra about that is, 'The baker doesn't complain when the muffins sell well.' So, if we bake another dozen kanji, we're happy to do it!"
(source: http://www.luckyfish.com/controversial.html)

Hmmm...What’s the “logo” for THIS generation?

Here is the artist’s cynical viewpoint. Most are probably sick of doing the same “unoriginal” pieces. (Earlier in this article she says “That’s what employees are for!”)

But there is also a value in the standard design; everyone needs to be familiar with it so its “standard” meaning comes across. If every traffic light used different colors to mean “stop” and “go,” it would be really confusing.

Your thoughts?
I walked by Pat Fish's shop today (it's really close to my house) and peeked in....there is a whole HUGE wall of kanji flash, with the meanings of each character! I can really sympathize with her cynical attitude, but this just made the shop look really bad!

A. I completely feel sorry for tattoo artists who do 3-4 tramp stamps a day. As a piercing apprentice I feel as if I might scream every time some generic girl comes in to get either her tongue, her belly button, or both pierced. You can't blame people though, we're all victims trying to look cool. Some of us might not go out and get tattooed on a whim, but we will express it in other ways.

Do men find women with tattoos attractive?
Q. I have a large tattoo on my arm. Beautifully done by one of the bests artists in America. I've always lived my tattoos and I do get compliments on them but I wonder of guys did them attractive or sexy. For the most part I do not care what people think. And these tattoos mean something to me. Thanks in advance or your opinions!

A. Well, i'm a girl but i find tattoos on women to be extremely sexy.
And to the people who don't well, who cares what they think.
It's YOUR body.

What do you think of my upcoming tattoo?

Q. I'm getting a tattoo on my shoulder dedicated to my parents. It's the old "I Love Lucy" logo, replacing Lucy with "Mom & Dad". He said he thinks its dumb and "ghetto". I already got a tattoo on my other shoulder, dedicated to he and I. I think he's jealous. He has numerous tattoos meaning nothing. What is your opinion on the tattoo? I'll throw in I'm a 27 yr old woman.

A. i like its a great meaning-ful tat. i think yu should jess get tats thats meaning and that yu love (shows yur interests) its gooing to be on yur body 4 life unless yu get a cover-up but if yu dont have any second guesses bout it go 4 it.

What do girls think of guys that have tattoos?
Q. I'm an 18 year old guy and I have a few tattoos already but I was just wondering what girls/women nowadays actually think about tattoos. I mean, it's not going to change my opinion about getting tattoos or affect what tattoos I get, I was just curious.

And I'm adding this in here as a little note: I hate tribal tattoos, Celtic tattoos, and armbands (among others). I will never get them.

A. Well, I'm an 18 year old girl and I have one tattoo and maybe getting one or two more in my future. I personally admire men who have tattoo's, it shows who they are and how they choose to express themselves, but then again, I like the unique and meaningful tattoo's only. However, ever girl has her own opinion on the matter, and you'll find some who hate them, some who don't mind them and others who love them. But like you stated above, that's good thinking, don't let others opinion's affect your decision's, it's your body, do what you wish.
I hope I could be of some assistance.
