Why do people think own name tattoos are conceited?

Q. Why is that considered to be conceited and self centered? I mean after all it's their name isn't it?

A. miss. i have noticed that women do ask the best questions on all topics. give the most concise answers. but your question has just blown what little grey matter this old guy has left. this is so good it very well could and should be used in a post secondary psychology class. a brilliant question. the roots of which go back to the start of humans. first names were given after historical figures, notice that england for example. vast majority first names royal figures. france the same. other cultures use religious first names. others names of gods. all first names have meanings that parents picked out. i guess a baby book, or advanced name book would show the meaning behind every name. historical religious , going back to beginning of the written word. it cannot be considered conceit . it is not conceit. it is pride in the meaning of the name your parents choose for you. to disrespect a person for pride in their parents is total pathetic disrespect. if your great grandmother for example fought for woman's rights no person has the right to call you conceited if you carry her name and your name. it is a blatant insult to all members of your family. if you come from a different culture, use a prophets name which you were given at birth, a insult against family and religion. your question deserves more than this forum is capable of answering. of course a woman will come up with genius answer as usual. every person should know the background of thier name. it is very important. i have 5 cousins with the same first name. was 6 a little south east vacation caused the death of one. theothers were able to gain some revenge. i tried twice. the first using deceased brothers birth certificate. at age 16. failed. tried again. rejected. deceased father, brother .only surviour. i am sorry for the babble.it is such a great great question. says so much in so little wording. the best answer will be from a very well educated woman. please stay strong. i was born in the 1940s. the disrespect towards women is at its all time low. to you males out there . show this question the respect it has earned. disrespect the question you are disrespecting your parents and your family tree. i am over 60 years old. far from the brightest bulb. this question is genius. show respect when you answer. and yes a woman will come up with genius answer which this question deserves. the young lady who posted is proud of her name , her parents and her family. sorry for the non answer. just a first class question.

Hey ya'll, I need a tattoo price estimate...Help?
Q. Okay so here's what I want. On the top half of my back/shoulder blades I want the man and the woman off of My Chemical Romance's album, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. ((Don't tell me I'm stupid, don't tell me that's bad)). And I want three main colors, black white and red. Estimate anyone? Please help :)) I will love you forever!

Just in case...
http://www.mp3lyrics.org/m/my-chemical-romance/my-chemical-romance_7.Jpg

A. it really all depends on the size and how big they are going to be you really cant get an estimate based on the info you gave it also depends on the tattoo artist you go with and how much time its going to take as far as details go.. some tattoo artist go by the hour and the actual tattoo shop will charge a min. fee and others will go based upon the actual tattoo

What are the consequences for getting married to young? Whats your definition of being to young for marriage?
Q.

A. Not understanding yourself, your partner, the world, marriage, love... basically just not getting "it." And you can die at 93 and still not get it. But in general, if you put in the effort you should have enough sense to get through a marriage at some point in your life.

I think the biggest consequence in getting married to young is the scars. Your concept of love and marriage is changed, you will from that point on be "the divorced person." I know so many friends who got married young and got divorced young. I almost dated a girl with 5 tattoos and 3 kids she regrets getting at 19. My epileptic neighbor on disability got married to a man, women and a midget by 21.

Trying to force something or doing it for the wrong reasons will not end well. If you love this person more than anything and want them to be your wife or husband for the rest of your lives, then get married. If you want revenge on parents, want to prove something or just have no other option, that is the wrong reason to get married and will be bad at any age.

How do you like my story idea?

Q. Subject #0-DNT-KR-0 is a cold-blooded clone, born in a lab, raised to kill. Since the first day he could hold a gun, he has trained in an arena against the worlds top spetsnas, MI-6, and Shayetet 13 soldiers. Many days, the only thing that keeps him alive is his bio-engineered ability to regenerate from critical wounds in seconds. Soon, #0 is outdated, and marked for 'disposal' for requiring a constant supply of energy. He is shot execution-style, his body left to rot, but he is alive and healing as he crawls through the compound's muddy courtyard, and into the night.
So, I'm gonna be a lot less professional now, just to cut things short, as this is getting extremely long. He breaks into a woman's house, where she shoots him repeatedly, and is amazed when he remains unphased and calm. He disarms her, and is about to kill her, when she pleads for her life. new to this action, he agrees to spare her long enough for her to explain. Soon enough, he drops the gun and runs away. The next night, he comes to her again, eyes filled with child-like curiosity, asking her questions and giving her what few answers he can. A bond forms, she pities him, and agrees to let him live in the basement, provided the door is locked from the outside by six padlocks at night. The woman says her name is Alex Stratus, and they agree on giving him the name Dante Karo, deprived from the number tattooed on his arm; 0-DNT-KR-0.
During the story, many things happen as he learns to be human, but they really don't affect the story line much, since at the climax he still goes to the lab (which he discovers to be a Chinese military facility) for revenge. He finds a revised clone of himself that doesn't require the insulin he did. Like Alex, Dante sees this as a chance to salvage an empty soul. He tries to quickly explain morals to the clone, but his words are without meaning. Dante leaves the compound and alerts the military of its existence. The heads of the pentagon refuse to attack, but Dante tells them everything, then shows them his power. they agree to attack the compound if he lets them experiment on him, and he is sent to the compound once again, in hopes of capturing (or killing) the new clone.
What do you think? I revised this question, and believe I hit the bases running, but a second opinion would be nice.

A. I like that. It's far more original then some of the stuff I read on here.

Make sure you finish it and good luck. :)

M.S.

What does the Bible say about gay marriage?

Q. Yes, I do understand that all Christians think gay marriage is wrong.
And that God made man and woman in the beginning but what exactly does the Bible say?
I mean, it's very hard to believe that God would create people and not allow them to be happy. I'm sure he wants everyone to be happy.

A. Nothing

Christianity attracts a small contingency (whom everyone should ignore) of nasty people who simply use the religion to justify expressing hatred towards others when in fact the essence of christianity encourages/demands tolerance, love and respect.

Jesus says nothing about same-sex behavior. The Jewish prophets are silent about homosexuality. Only six or seven of the Bible’s ONE MILLION VERSES refer to same-sex behavior in any way — and none of these verses refer to homosexual orientation as it’s understood today.

Jesus and five Old Testament prophets all speak of the sins that led to the destruction of Sodom — and not one of them mentions homosexuality.

Listen to what Ezekiel 16:48-49 tell us: “This is the sin of Sodom; she and her suburbs had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not help or encourage the poor and needy.”

It was common for soldiers, thieves, and bullies to rape a fallen enemy, asserting their victory by dehumanizing and demeaning the vanquished. This act of raping an enemy is about power and revenge, not about homosexuality or homosexual orientation.

Leviticus is a holiness code written 3,000 years ago. This code includes many of other outdated sexual laws (like stoning adulterers and brides who are not virgins, and executing a married couple for having sex during the woman’s period), and a lot more. It also includes prohibitions against round haircuts, tattoos, working on the Sabbath, wearing garments of mixed fabrics, eating pork or shellfish, getting your fortune told, and even playing with the skin of a pig. (There goes football!)

So what’s a holiness code? It’s a list of behaviors that people of faith find offensive in a certain place and time. In this case, the code was written for priests only, and its primary intent was to set the priests of Israel over and against priests of other cultures.

What about this word abomination that comes up in both passages? In Hebrew, “abominations” (TO’EBAH) are behaviors that people in a certain time and place consider tasteless or offensive. To the Jews an abomination was not a law, not something evil like rape or murder forbidden by the Ten Commandments.
Jesus and Paul both said the holiness code in Leviticus does not pertain to Christian believers

Paul sees women having sex with women and men having sex with men, and he condemns that practice. But let’s go back 2,000 years and try to understand why.

Paul is writing this letter to Rome after his missionary tour of the Mediterranean. On his journey, Paul had seen great temples built to honor Aphrodite, Diana, and other fertility gods instead of the one true God the apostle honors. Apparently, these priests and priestesses engaged in some odd sexual behaviors — including castrating themselves, carrying on drunken sexual orgies, and even having sex with young temple prostitutes (male and female).

'The Bible is clear that sexuality is a gift from God. Our 'Creator' celebrates our passion. But the Bible is also clear that when passion gets control of our lives, we’re in TROUBLE"

As Rev. Dr. Louis B. Smedes, a distinguished Christian author and ethicist, explains: “The homosexuals that I know [have not] given up heterosexual passions for homosexual lusts. ... They did not change from one orientation to another; they just discovered that they were homosexual. It would be unnatural for most homosexuals to have heterosexual sex.”

How do I plant 4 naked dolls in my Bestfriend's house in a creative and prank-worthy way.?
Q. Me and my best friend started a game. It all started when he had to use the pants of a ken Barbie doll for a book report. He just had a half naked doll in his room so he decided to pull a prank at the beginning of last semester. Over the school year the prank enveloped and people in our circle of friends had found clever and keen ways of smuggling the doll into one another's backpacks. Throughout the game the doll was stripped completely and written on accordingly. Now that it is summer, the game has evolved. We now have four naked dolls (3 of which are women, and one being the original ken doll) and we find clever, funny, and inconspicuous methods and places of hiding for each of the dolls accordingly. Each time the dolls are passed on they are now changed in some way (hair style, tattoos, accessories, notes, etc.) the dolls are now in my possession, and I long for revenge on my best friend. I understand that the people of the Internet probably have a much more comical and intelligent way of determining the perfect method of execution for this mission, so I have come to you. Please help.

A. Substitute yourself for one of those 4 naked dolls and you will be an instant hit.

What is The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo about?

Q. So I've been watching the trailer for it and I'm really interested in it now. But it's looks really confusing reminds me of the movie Inception. I plan on going to see it when it comes out (December 21, 2011). But I want to know who is this girl with the tattoo, does she have some type of power or something? What does she do?

A. December 2002. Mikael Blomkvist, publisher of the Swedish political magazine Millennium, loses a libel case involving allegations about billionaire industrialist Hans-Erik Wennerström. He is sentenced to three months in prison, and ordered to pay hefty damages and costs. Soon afterwards, he is invited to meet Henrik Vanger, the retired CEO of the Vanger Corporation, unaware that he had commissioned an investigation into Blomkvist's personal and professional history. This was carried out by Lisbeth Salander, a surveillance agent with Milton Security.
Blomkvist is promised considerable financial reward and solid evidence against Wennerström, in exchange for writing the Vanger family history. Vanger believes that his greatneice, Harriet, was murdered by a member of the family 36 years earlier. Blomkvist moves to the Vanger estate and becomes immersed in the history of Harriet's disappearance.
Salander, who was ruled legally incompetent as a child, is under the care of legal guardian Holger Palmgren, but he has a stroke. Her new guardian, Nils Bjurman, is a sadist who uses his position to sexually abuse her in return for access to her own money. After he rapes her, Salander takes her revenge by torturing him and threatening to ruin him unless he gives her full control of her finances.
Blomkvist discovers Salander has hacked into his computer, and persuades her to assist him with researching Harriet's disappearance. Together they uncover decades of buried evidence, and they begin to suspect that they are on the trail of a serial killer. They have sexual intercourse, but the antisocial Salander keeps Blomkvist at a distance emotionally, refusing to give herself fully.
Blomkvist discovers that the killer is Martin Vanger, who tells him that his father initiated him when he was a teenager. He admits to murdering dozens of women, but denies killing his sister. Martin takes Blomkvist prisoner and nearly kills him, only for Salander to arrive just in time to save him. Martin is killed in a car accident while escaping Salander's pursuit. Salander's hacker acquaintance, Plague, sets up a phone tap on Anita Vanger's home in London. This proves that Harriet is alive, and located in Australia. Blomkvist flies over alone to find Harriet, because Salander's mother has just died. Harriet tells Blomkvist that her father and brother sexually abused her for years, and that she went into hiding because she killed her father. With Martin dead, she returns to Sweden, where she reunites with her great-uncle, who makes plans for her to take the position of CEO of the Vanger Corporation. Blomkvist accompanies Salander at the funeral.
Blomkvist is furious when he learns that the evidence against Wennerström that Vanger promised him is useless. However Salander has already hacked Wennerström's computer and has discovered that his crimes go far beyond what Blomkvist documented. Using her evidence, Blomkvist prints an exposé and book which ruins Wennerström and catapults Millennium to national prominence. Salander, using her phenomenal skill with computer hacking, succeeds in stealing more than a quarter of a billion dollars from Wennerström's secret bank account. Blomkvist and Salander spend Christmas together in his holiday retreat and their sexual relationship continues. At the end of the year, she goes to Blomkvist's home with her Christmas present for him, but sees him with Berger and flees. She had intended declaring her love for him.
As a post script, Salander continues to monitor Wennerstrom and after six months, anonimously informs a lawyer in Miami of his whereabouts. He is found in Marbella, dead, shot three times in the head.
