What influences what physical traits we look for in a partner? What about these specific ones?

Q. As a man, I'm very attracted to a goth/punk/biker/rocker type woman; piercings, tattoos, short and dyed hair, denim and leather, etc.
I've always been educated and in the upper-middle class, never mingling with crowds like these.
However, what in us influences what we seek out physically in a partner?
Not people in general, each individual.

A. Evolutionarily speaking, men usually prefer women that are younger because they are more fertile. Women usually prefer men that are in power, or can take care of them in one way or another. However, a lot of things have changed now that it's 2012. Maybe you're into girls like that because you weren't used to them growing up. I'm familiar with many upper-middle class individuals and they dress in a different way than that because they care what people think (reputations and whatever).

I just got a relaxer .. How long should i wait to dye my hair?
Q. I dyed my hair august 29th 2012 and its grown out a lot, it was like a honey blonde color. I dont really want this color anymore i want to go back to black. I just got a relaxer last weekend on sunday i believe i want to dye my hair black soon but i dont want my hair to fall out. How long should wait?.

A. I do not recommend it, I know you like black, but relaxers plus hair dye causes cancer.

Permanent black hair dye is linked to causing leukemia and lymphomas.
Style meets chemistry meets biology: We're talking hair coloring.

Playing with chemicals is not like playing with clothes, or doing a manicure, there are penalties for playing chemicals in the lab. Even hair color experts at the salon are not rocket scientists, they do a bang up dye jobs to their clients or their own hair.

London, Feb 20, 2013 I've been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 22 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <

Google: Teen 'feared she would die' after reaction to hair dye
The allergic reaction was caused by a well-known brand of semi-permanent hair dye Chloe used to turn her hair black for a Hallowe’en party. . . . . called for beauty bosses to ban hair dye chemical PPD (para-phenylenediamine) from the shelves. 11-04-11

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. It’s made from coal tar and is used in both permanent and semi-permanent hair colours. It’s well-known to be a cause of serious allergic reactions -- including something called contact dermatitis which can lead to rashes, blisters, and open sores.
PPD is sometimes added to black henna tattoos and that using them is not safe. Allergic reactions usually begin within two to 10 days following application. One bad reaction can lead to sensitivities to other products such as hair dye, sunblock and some types of clothing dyes. Oftentimes, it's using the product a second or third time.

Hair-straightening products are allowed to contain small concentrations of formaldehyde (0.2 percent). But several hair-straightening solutions have been found to contain well above the allowable limit. For example, one popular hair-straightening product that advertised itself as “formaldehyde-free” actually contained 6.8 percent to 11.8 percent formaldehyde.
Another example: Fourteen women, including two from North Texas and one from Houston, are suing Unilever, the maker of a product they claim caused permanent damage to their hair.
"It transforms frizzy, unmanageable hair into hair that's sleeker and easier to style," said the commercial for the Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion 30-Day Smoothing Kit, which is no longer being sold
When she began looking online for more information about the product, she said she found some people who said it worked, but more who said it damaged their hair.
She discovered a Facebook page devoted to angry consumers, and there are multiple postings on YouTube. I've been warning people about relaxers since 2009 and people are giving me thumbs down!
BTW: A variety of hair-straightening products used in professional salons can expose both hairdressers and their customers to formaldehyde. The results show that three professional hair-smoothing treatments labeled "formaldehyde free" can produce the cancer-causing chemical at concentrations above the occupational exposure limits set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. They tested four products: Coppola Keratin Complex Blonde Formula, Global Keratin Juvexin Optimized Functional Keratin, La Brasiliana Escluso Keratin Treatment with Collagen, and Brazilian Blowout Acai Professional Smoothing Solution. While ChemRisk tested four popular brands of hair straighteners, THERE ARE HUNDREDS on the market. Nov. 11-11

By contrast, beauty salon owners and stylists generally lack a scientific background and don't have a keen awareness of the danger of working with products that contain formaldehyde, experts say.

How do you feel about women openly displaying tattoos?

Q. Tacky? Cheap? Common? I have a preference for no tattoos, but so many girls seem to have one these days. Does it bother others? or is there limits? for example, full body tattoo. too much? or even any small one is bad also?

A. I remember paying a dollar at a side show circus, 35 years ago, to see The Tattoo Lady. Since then, I've always considered tattoos to be the most UN-Lady like thing a woman could do to herself.

The dumb thing about tattoos is that right now, they're more of a fashion statement than anything else and what's in style now, won't be in style a few years from now. So what are these people going to do about their permanent tattoos?

If you think that tattoos are fun and sexy, get a henna tattoo and change it often. Playing "what's the tattoo of the week and where is it hidden" could be a fun and sexy game.

Why do thugged out tattooed guys think they deserve a sexy chick?
Q. Seriously? These guys are low class trashbags yet they think they deserve a pretty thin woman. I just don't get it. In my opinion, these losers shouldn't even have girlfriends. I know there are lots of uneducated women out there who are thin and considered pretty that will date these rejects. A pretty, educated thin women would never date a felon, wage slave worker, loser who can't provide anything besides a penis. What do u think?

A. "A pretty, educated thin women would never date a felon, wage slave worker, loser who can't provide anything besides a penis. What do u think?"...actually, this isn't true. Women will typically choose a mate based one of two primary considerations: his genetic qualities, or his ability to provide. These two things rarely come in one package. The "bad boy" types usually have beautiful women simply because they have the confidence to attract them...and confidence often stems from physical appearance which, essentially, is the best indicator of quality genes. The other types, the responsible providers, usually have to work to get the same thing. The mating game is not about what you deserve. Nature is not about that at all. It's about luck and odds. And these irresponsible bad boys have the odds in their favour.

what is the sexiest part of the body a woman can get a tattoo?

Q. Sexiest place a woman can have a tasteful tattoo without it being trashy?

A. I think all parts of the body can be sexy when the tattoos are well done. I think poorly done tattoos makes the body look trashy and very unsexy. Look online of photos of well done tattoos versus cheaper tattoos. But I think the ribs and hips are the sexiest spots for tattoos. It is also super sexy for only part of a tattoo to be visible.

What is considered formal wear for a wedding?
Q. I have a wedding I am going to in August and the wedding is at 6pm. My husband and I have never been ones to dress up. We are more of the rocker/punk/goth style: jeans, t-shirt or baby tee, ol' school chucks and maybe a hat with dark make-up for me. Oh yeah, and not to forget the tattoos and piercings....

What is considered formal for going to a wedding and then to a reception at a really nice resturant? I am in dire need for help b/c I am not the type to spend a lot of money on dress clothes when I know I will probably never wear them again?

Also, is is ok for a female to wear pants if it is formal or does it need to be a dress?

Please help!

Thanks in advance!

A. Formal for a women is a formal dress. Try second hand stores as sometimes they have some very nice women's clothing for affordable prices.

As you can see from my photo, formal for a man is a formal suit and tie.

How much does it cost to dye my full head of hair?

Q. I'm just wondering how much it would be around too. I'm not cutting it, or trimming my hair. I'm just dying it one color, red. And my hair is black, so does that mean I would need to bleach it?

A. I have no idea how LONG your hair is.

Your hair is black it won't take the color red.

How long should I wait to dye my hair?
Q. I want to dye my hair brown again, but I haven't washed my hair since Wednesday. Should I dye it now, while my hair is dirty since hair dye will hold to dirty hair best, or wash it and wait a day before dying it? I'm using permanent store bought hair color. I've been advised to just wait and go ahead and dye it later today, but I wore a Turbie Twist on my head and got cotton fuzzies all over my hair so I was gonna wash my hair to get them out.

A. It is not a yes or no answer.
I have no idea what your hair texture, how you're styling your hair or length of your hair . . .
How long ago was your last hair dye? Heat & chemicals are hair's worst enemies. What other chemicals are on your hair now?

Overlapping dye onto previously colored hair is what creates dullness and dryness. If you color your hair @ home or salon, let your roots grow out as long as you can stand, so the line of demarcation is easier to spot. Only run color through the lengths for five minutes to refresh the ends. To extend the time between touch-ups, use a gloss and deep -conditioning treatments. They will help smooth cuticles roughed up by daily wear & tear, and the hair will look shinier. ~ Harry Josh, hairstylist of the celebrities.

What's the meaning of this tattoo?

Q. http://www.tattooeasily.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Maori-Tattoo-designs-23.jpg
It's a Maori tattoo I found on the Internet, and I was wondering if you know the meaning of it, since most of those tattoos have one .. Thanks in advance :)

A. The Maori use tattoo to tell the world they have reached adulthood. Getting their faces tattooed was a right of passage that told the world "I'm an ADULT!" The design itself is a shorthand for the family geneology and often would tell rank. Women would get lip and chin tattoos while men would get full face tattoos.

It's best to be respectful if you choose one of these designs, however, as inappropriate placement like as a tramp stamp can be seen as offensive to the Maori. The design you posted is not a real Maori design. In fact, it can be seen as an offensive derivative due to it's positioning.

Didn't Obama say Insurance Premiums would NOT rise because of Obamacare?
Q. Sebelius: Some Could See Insurance Premiums Rise

Some people purchasing new insurance policies for themselves this fall could see premiums rise because of requirements in the health-care law, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told reporters Tuesday.

Ms. Sebelius’s remarks come weeks before insurers are expected to begin releasing rates for plans that start on Jan. 1, 2014, when key provisions of the health law kick in. Premiums have been a sensitive subject for the Obama administration, which is counting on elements in the health law designed to increase competition among insurers to keep rates in check. The administration has pointed to subsidies that will be available for many lower-income Americans to help them with the cost of coverage.

The secretary’s remarks are among the first direct statements from federal officials that people who have skimpy health plans right now could face higher premiums for plans that are more generous. She noted that the law requires plans to provide better benefits and treat all customers equally regardless of their medical claims.

“These folks will be moving into a really fully insured product for the first time, and so there may be a higher cost associated with getting into that market,” she said. “But we feel pretty strongly that with subsidies available to a lot of that population that they are really going to see much better benefit for the money that they’re spending.”

Ms. Sebelius added that those customers currently pay more for their health care if their plans have high out-of-pocket costs, high deductibles or exclude particular types of coverage, such as mental health treatment. She also said that some men and younger customers could see their rates increase while women and older customers could see their rates drop because the law restricts insurers’ ability to set rates based on age and gender.

Most people who buy their own insurance policies will begin doing so this fall through new online marketplaces, which federal officials believe will force insurers to keep their prices down.

“As a former insurance commissioner I have watched what transparency does to a market,” Ms. Sebelius said. “This is the first time ever in the history of the United States that insurance companies have to file their rates, it has to be very transparent, they have to offer the same kind of coverage without 5,000 tiny little lines and internal caps, and they have to compete for customers. And I am a believer in the market strategies that in and of itself will minimize the rate impact.”

As The Wall Street Journal reported last week, some insurers have already begun signaling they could dramatically increase prices for people buying policies in the individual market to compensate for restrictions on how they treat consumers, as well as new fees and requirements that they provide bigger benefits packages.

The Society of Actuaries, a nonpartisan professional association, has issued a new report warning that the cost of medical claims in the new individual-insurance market could rise by an average of 32% per person over the first few years the law is in place, as more people with higher medical needs get coverage, and that the impact will be very different depending on the state. Medical bills are another key factor in determining premiums.

Dave87gn - I won't insult your intelligence by suggesting that you really believe what you just said.
Douglas S - Somewhere out there is a tree, tirelessly producing oxygen so you can breathe. I think you owe it an apology.

A. the bottom line is quite scary. Those that have chose not to have health care will make any excuse to get Obamacare passed. They do not care who it hurts or who it effects. I know so many people that own houses, have new cars and go on vacations and say they have no money for health care. Yet, those of us who have sacrificed, and paid our health care costs all along are the ones that are being punished by having OUR health care costs inflated to pay for those that don't feel like paying for health care but got a brand new tattoo........welfare is there for those that need help we did not need another program that will help the non workers and punish the workers again. Then again, Obama hates those that work hard, we did not build that, he did, his government did and we are the ones that will pay for it, while he attends another basketball game or golf game. UGGGGG.

What does it take to be a plus size model?

Q. How tall do you have to be and what is the average size of a plus size model?

Who do you contact to get started?

A. I'm here to help you a little and get you pointed in the right direction.

There are requirements for plus size models, whether you're a teen or older. They include height and size restrictions. They are as tough for plus size models as they are for straight size ones. You need to be at least 5’8” (5’10” is preferable in the bigger markets like NYC, Miami, L.A., etc.) and fall between sizes 8 and 16/18. Yes, plus sizes start at size 8 as far as agencies are concerned. You need to be well-proportioned, toned and in good shape, have great skin, hair and teeth, and be quite photogenic - let's not forget - we're talking about MODELING. It also helps if you have few, if any, tattoos.

If you have these things going for you, I encourage you to attend an open call at an agency near you that represents plus size models You can find a local one by calling agencies that are listed in your local yellow pages and asking if they rep plus size girls, and then asking when their plus size open calls occur. You will need to get in front of an agent who will determine your marketability in this industry and advise you accordingly. Walk in wearing light makeup, simple but well-fitting clothing, and lose the high heels - they will know how tall you are so don't try to fudge it. Bring some simple shots of yourself that show your face and your full body - they don't need to be professional shots. They will look at your photos and will see your potential without all the makeup. You may be measured on the spot, or asked to be photographed in your underwear, so get rid of your inhibitions NOW.

You need to be in or near a large market – smaller towns don’t normally have modeling agencies, let alone plus size divisions. Your competition knows where to go, and they are going there, believe me. You can be stunningly beautiful, but if you can’t make it to an open call or casting because you live too far away and cannot travel at the drop of a hat, you definitely have a strike against you. Your competition is thrilled to know that you don't have the money for a bus ticket or that your car is in the shop - means more opportunity for them!

If you are marketable, the agent will ask you to do several test shoots that you have to pay for, so please be ready to spend money and time developing your look. Agencies do not typically pick up these fees – the model must do so. (You will need to spend money to get your career off the ground - modeling is not a get-rich-quick career. If you have kids and/or school to finish, you need to plan how you're going to balance it all.)

You may be asked to cut/trim/color your hair, get manicures and pedicures and to hit the gym before the shoot. You will be given a list of photographers that you can call to schedule a shoot, and you will pay them directly. A good agency will never ask for money directly – it’s a transaction between you and the photog. If you want to get the most out of your test shoots, you should hire a makeup artist, hair stylist and fashion stylist to work on the shoot with you.

When your shots come back, your potential agent will see if you have what it takes, and then she/he will submit your photos to clients and see what kind of response you get. They usually submit a comp card, which is a collection of photos that you need to pay for, to the clients to get their feedback. There are no guarantees, and you will only work if clients like/need your look.

You can visit the plus size modeling thread at www.curvychick.com and get advice from working models, photographers, stylists, makeup artists and others within the industry. Take any support you get with a grain of salt - there are plenty of women who will say that you've "got it," but they usually just want to be nice and not have a hand in dashing your dreams. I personally don't want a hand in misleading anyone. AND if someone says you don't really have it, don't take it personally - you're not being judged as a person, not on your looks, but on your marketability - if you can't take the heat you should find another career.

Best of luck!

How does one get into the plus-size modeling business?
Q. I would assume its similar to breaking into the general modeling business, but I've heard its also a bit different. How so? Any recommended connections in the greater Boston area?

A. You need to consider a few things before pursuing such a career. There are requirements for plus size models, and they include height and size restrictions. You need to be at least 5’8” (5’10” is preferable in the bigger markets like NYC, Miami, L.A., London, etc) and fall between sizes 8 and 16/18. Please note: there is no such segment of the market called "specialty plus." That is a title that certain websites and companies (some present on the internet) have created in order to get girls who want to be models (but who do not fit model stats) to pose for their websites. There's no harm in it, except that it misleads women who want to be models into thinking that they can eventually work with agents. It's just not realistic. It also helps the photographers who shoot such girls make money off of them, of course, but it's rather disingenuous for such people to make money off of girls who will most likely not work within the industry. It's a great ego boost but girls without model stats won't work in the legit modeling industry.

where can i find a femanine dragon tattoo design??

Q. Hi I am getting a tattoo next week and I want a dragon that is femanine but still has the strong quality of a dragon to show that I am strong and feirse but also femanine. Does anyone know of any sites that I can get some pictures or something?

A. sorry but Dragons are never feminine.

It is like asking the same thing:

I want a feminie lion or tiger as a tattoo. These are all powerful symbols, animals, mystic creatures. Being powerful, you do not want it to look feminine. Life wise, a phoenix, though used by many women, there is nothing feminine about a phoenix either.

If you want strenght and character of a dragon, go all out and do japanese or chinese dragon and dont worry about femininity.

for that reason, you cannot have a hello kitty tattoo and make it macho.

:-)

How do i design a dragon tattoo? I want to know how to design the tribal like ones.?

What part of the body do you think is a stupid place to get a tattoo?

Q. What part of the body do you think is a stupid place to get a tattoo and it annoys you ?

Woman getting tattoo's on there belly and then getting pregnant 4 years down the line is stupid

and sorry but i hate it when folk get small tattoo's on there wrist i think its pointless sorry to people who like them :)

What about yourself ?

A. On the inside of the lower lip....

What is with the current trend of women getting wrist tattoos?
Q. Almost every actress or every other woman I see in public these days has some kind of tacky/trashy wrist tattoo, Why is this such a hot trend these days and am I the only one who thinks they look trashy?

A. I agree, they've become so common. Like a permanent "trendy" bracelet.

Do Geishas have tattoos (Japanese body suit)? If not, what kind of Japanese women wear body suit tattoos?

Q. I would like to know what Japanese women adorn themselves with body suit tattoos, and would like some more information and resources. Please and thank you.

A. No, geisha never have tattoos! Tattoos like that I think would only be on members of the yakuza or young hip adults. The tradition type tattoos is Japanese are called "irezumi".

Crazy tattoo superstitions...Do you know of any?
Q. I have a lot of ink and so do all the guys in my family. Over the years I have heard a lot of crazy tattoo superstitions. Here are some of the more crazy ones:

1) If a guy has sex the night before getting a tattoo it will hurt more and heal slower. If a woman has sex the night before it will hurt less and heal faster...Apart from being untrue this is unfair! I have done both and it never mattered ,though getting enough sleep does.

2) It is unlucky to have an even number of tattoos...some people say odd numbers are back luck.

3) Getting the name of a partner tattooed is a sure sign things won't last.

4) Tattoo artists get offended when another tattoo artist covers up their work...untrue it happens all the time.

5) If you are American with Japanese tattoos the Yakuza are offended by this. If they see it and you pis$ them off, they will slice off your offensive tattoos with a sword...To my knowledge this has not happened for real but I have heard this one a few times...Sounds brutal!

6) If you have lots of tattoos they won't let you into a bath house in Japan. This one is actually true in some cases but it never happened to me when I visited there. They frown on excessive tattoos in Japan and associate it with gangs and crime. If you are a tourist, especially a non-Asian one, they tend to be more forgiving but you are expected to cover your ink when in public.

7) Spiderwebs tattooed on your elbows means you killed someone. As far as I know this isn't true either. Webs are common in old school style sleeves and lots of people in jail do get them. Most people who have this probably aren't killers.

8) Massaging your ink regularly will keep it from fading...As far as I know there is no truth to this. The ink is already under the skin. If you have healthy skin and take good care of it this MIGHT protect your ink but in the long run avoiding sun is probably more important. However this IS a great excuse to get chicks to massage me!

So what crazy superstitions have you heard about tattoos? And is it true or not true? Do you believe it? If so why or why not?

A. sure about 6 - Kelly Osbourne was asked to leave a gym in Japan for having tattoos. They ask you to cover them with tape. I'm guessing you'd have a problem xxBut then again I also heard in Japan they even ask you to wear a bathing cap in the baths if you are bald.
And there was controversy over Mike Tyson, and other celebrities, getting his facial tribal tattoo. Tribal tattoos are just that.
As for 5 I have heard of gang members slicing off tattoos

What can you tell about a woman who wears a flower tattoo on her upper right shoulder blade ?

Q. O.K. I recently had a falling out with a woman who always refered to me as her best friend. I caught her in tons of lies during our ,so-called, friendship and the rest of the time she just baffled me with her evasive personality and quirks. She had the most amazing flower tattoo (I think it was supposed to be an Iris or Orchid ) on her upper right shoulder blade.
I see in various magazines that alot of attention has been given to tattoos ,their art and body location and what they can tell about the person.
Any one have some thoughts on what I didn't know about my ex friend based on her tattoo ??
By the way I'm still crazy ,mad in love with her. I suppose my tattoo should be "Fool 4 love" across my forehead.

A. It means she likes flowers. And tattoos. Ta-da!!! Magic.

Anybody know of any good tattoo artists in or around Atlanta?
Q. I need a cover up a tattoo and I don't know what in the world I am going to cover it up with, but I need it to look nice and clean, not trashy. Thank you very much! P.s. maybe there is a site where people rate tattoo artists that I don't know about?

A. I have favorite shops in Atlanta in ORDER

#1. Ink and Dagger. Russ Abbott is AMAZING. He is hard to get an appointment with, but AMAZING nonetheless. Jason Kelley there is also phenomenal. The shop is really nice too.

http://www.inkanddaggertattoo.com/

#2. Memorial Tattoo. Both Locations have outstanding tattooers This is where the BEST artists in Atlanta who don't own their own shops go because the commission rate is good for them. There are some great women working here too if that makes you more comfy.

http://www.memorialtattooatl.com/splash.php

My favs with memorial here are

Moreland Ave Location - All phenomenal artists. Dave Kruseman just went back here from Ink and Dagger, and he is SO good. <3 He did my back piece. I am not one of these girls who will go to any old tattooer. Not to mention he has great manners. A mega cover-up job for me. it is gorgeous!

Cabbagetown location- Sam Parker is a doll. He has actually done most of my tattoos. He has an art degree also.Wonderfully talented.

#3. Olde School Tattoo in Marietta (i know no one has heard of this one), Brett there is a fabulous young tattooer putting out some of the cleanest work I have ever seen. He obviously needs to update his online portfolio, but I can not recommend him enough. He did a clipper ship on my husbands chest for half of the price my guys would have, and it is FLAWLESS. Shop is nice.I wouldn't get tattooed by the owner though.

http://www.oldeschooltattoo.com/gallery_brett.html

4. Liberty Tattoo on Ponce - Great Traditional stuff coming out of here. Chris who works here is a great tattooer. He did a virgin mary cover-up on my BFF. Looks great! Nice Shop!

http://www.libertytat2.com/

Thats probably about it in the Atlanta area. A lot of people really like All or Nothing. I don't like the attitude that those people have though.

Nikki at Rocket Salon in Athens RETIRED! Boo. She was one of my best too.

What tattoo would symbolizes overcoming rape?

Q. Probably one of the worst experiences of my life - and if I ever get over it, I want to get a tattoo to remind myself that it is in the past. I don't wan't to forget it, it's a huge part of who I am today. I also want to get it somewhere that is hidden because it is not for other people to see, besides my husband, because I am doing this for myself - not as a decoration.

So I need two suggestions - What I should get and where. I don't mind words, but I don't want like an entire verse running down my arm.

A. I am so sorry you went through such a horrible thing. You sound like a strong girl!

Have you thought about getting a lotus and water? I read somewhere that lotus's are special because they come out of muddy murky water to become beautiful flowers. It would symbolize that you overcame the horrible act and now are a strong and beautiful woman. Good luck with everything.

What do you think about women having tattoos?
Q. I don't mean substantially tattooed, just like a couple. Two small wrist tattoos, one on each wrist. Or just tattoos on women in general. ? Thanks.

A. I don't like it when people have one or two small tattoos*, get big custom work or just don't bother.

Properly tattooed women are fantastic. My wife has her sleeves done.

One, significant, personal, piece is different to a f*cking dolphin/star/flower/bird/cherry blossom.

Should I get a tattoo to attract a boyfriend?

Q. I'm a good looking girl, I'm 25, olive skin, dark hair, slim and about 5'4 inches tall. I'm pretty straight laced and not very loud and would never have the guts to approach a guy. The problem is guys never approach me and it seems like guys are more into girls who have tattoos these days. I was thinking maybe if I got a tattoo, I would be seen in a different light by guys, maybe I look too boring and that's why they are not approaching? Who knows, what do you think?

A. NO! Never get a tattoo to "attract" guys! If you choose to get a tattoo do it because you have wanted one for a long time and have really thought long and hard about what design to get. Also consider wearing a fake tattoo on the area of your body you want to be tattooed. See what it feels like to walk around for a few weeks with a fake tattoo to make sure you really like the placement and idea of having a tattoo there permanently.

Also never ever get a tattoo on your lower back above your butt. Men call it a "tramp stamp" which means many people view women with lower back tattoos as "tramps" (meaning a slut, woman with low morals, etc). Even if the woman isn't a "tramp" it is really awful to have others immediately judge you harshly for having a lower back tattoo.
Also there are many men that DON'T like tattoos on women at all. So now you will be turning off all those men who dislike tattoos on women!

No guy will like you more if you get a tattoo! Don't waste your money and don't destroy your body with permanent ink!

Can stretch marks affect a lower back tattoo?
Q. I have been considering getting a tattoo for about 3 years. I want green flowing leaves across my lower back that curve and dip in toward a peach rose in the center of the design. The peach rose is a nod toward my husband and our wedding day since we had peach roses. This will be my first and only tattoo. I want to know how and if stretch marks and permanently alter a tattoo like this on my lower back?

A. Any tattoo can be affected by stretch marks. I have a lower back tattoo and I'm going on baby number two. I have never had a problem with stretch marks on my lower back. Most women chose to get a lower back tattoo because of the lower risk of stretch marks(you don't put weight on in this area while pregnant, usually) and the idea that you can hide it. As for not being able to get an epidural, that is an urban legend. There are people actually investigating this, but most women have no problem getting one(including me). The placement of an epidural is actually higher then the placement of a lower back tattoo(I'm a nursing student and learned this in Anatomy). Your design sounds beautiful and I wish you good luck on your tattoo.

Where to put temp tattoo for special occasion?

Q. Where is the sexiest place to put a tattoo on a woman's body. Would like to get a temporary tattoo for a special occasion (for my man.) What designs are really sexy? Ideas please -- since it'll be temp, over the top is fine.

A. I would go for somewhere hidden from public view, like low on your hip, or maybe on your chest underneath your bra. As for tattoo ideas, you could go with the traditional rose or butterfly. Or you could do a pin-up girl, but I'd put that on your thigh or ribs for maximum inpact.

Since it's temp, and it sounds like you don't have any real ones, anything will be a shock when he comes across it.

Good luck!

im thinking about getting a tattoo on my ribcage?
Q. but i heard that it hurts like hell so i was just gonna get lyrics to my favorite hymn. i chose my ribcage b/c i dont want it to be visible or tacky when im old or wear dresses.
do you think these tattoos are attractive or trashy on women?
would i regret it?

if you know of any sites that have tattoo ideas..thatd be cool too. thanks.

A. i have a tattoo on my ribcage! it was my first piece and i plan on getting many more.

i think its awesome because i can hide it constantly (i wear clothes...) and i can reveal it when im at the beach or the pool or with my bf. i think rib pieces are awesome because theres so much space for an artist to work with, but if u dont wanna use too much room you dont have to, cuz smaller tats look good there too. i havent had one person say a negative thing about mine because its a cool spot, its a nice tattoo, and it looks good on me. my bf LOVES it because it fits the curve of my body and he's the only person other than me who sees it frequently.

its not as painful as people say it is, and i have a low pain tolerance. it was def worth sitting through the stinging cuz now i have a beautiful piece that i love. i dont think its tacky. a tattoo cant make someone tacky, either a tacky person gets a tattoo thats even tackier, or its just a tattoo on a non-tacky person. i think its a great spot and def something out of the ordinary!

good luck!

What is a free dating website for chunky tattooed pierced girls?

Q. It's hard to meet men in this small town. Especially when you're plus sized and over half the population looks at you like you're some kind of freak. Is there any free dating websites out there that target plus sized alternative women like myself?

A. Try Dating Cafe, it was and will remain free. Has everything and maybe much more to offer then paid sites.
I've never understood why people pay for on-line dating, anyway. Most of the time they never find somebody because the owners of the dating sites (probably ALL PAID DATING SITES) are USING FAKE PROFILES.
That's the only way to make suckers register and pay - they give the impression of really animated community, but they have only 2-3 real users sending emails/messages to the bots like idiots. It's such a shame how this low quality people are trying to take advantage of people's feelings and take their money just for trying to find their soul-mate.
Anyway, check Dating Cafe, if free, multi-language, and they don't use fake profiles; they even have a video chat.
Good luck!

Does anyone know of any websites or links to Lebanese makeup and application tips?
Q. I LOVE the way Lebanese women look with their makeup on. I would like to know how they get their eyebrows to look so perfect (without the tattoo, which I might get later, but can't afford right now) and also which makeup brands they use and some application tips. Also, how do you (they) get the hair so shiny???? I tried YouTube, but only got videos of women already made up...No real tutorials or brands....

A. Use eyebrow stencils to get that tattooed look.
They also use tape to get the dramatic eyeline so sharp.
See this video : http://video.asterpix.com/v/332209991/haifa-wehbe-arabic-makeup-tutorial/

Is it disrespectful to get a tattoo involving someone who doesn't approve of tattoos?

Q. I have been wanting to get a tattoo for a long time but wanted one with meaning. My father was just diagnosed with skin cancer. My mother recovered from colon cancer last year and two other family members have died from two other cancers. The tattoo I have decided on would include four different colored ribbons for the four different cancers. I told my parents about it tonight and my mother told me it was a stupid idea and asked why I would be proud of my family members having cancer..I really want the tatto but would it be disrespectful to get it honoring someone who doesn't approve of tattoos?

A. It would be disrespectful of you to tattoo someone who doesn't want any tattoos, but it's your body, it is your personal way of honoring a person. I think she's got it all wrong, it's not that you are proud of people getting cancer, you are proud of the strength with which they fight the cancer.

But I understand if she doesn't want a permanent remainder of this fight, she is not only a cancer survivor, she is also a mother, a woman, she's got interests and cancer patients hate it when everything in their life is all about the cancer. She put the cancer behind her, she wants that in her past, not in the forever.

On the other hand, I wouldn't want to tattoo cancer symbols on my body, but that's just me. It's just too permanent, cancer is too much of an issue, and having lost family members to cancer (my mother included), I kind of wanted to find a way around the cancer to mark the event, and I did ;) Is there some other way you could remember them by? For instance, my sister recovered from cancer and she got a tattoo of blossoming flowers, since her fight against cancer gave her a different outlook in life, she is reborn. This is just an example to illustrate what I am trying to say. Think of other things that make these people you mention important in your life.

What part of the body is the most intimate part for a guy to get a tattoo?

Q. I'm looking to get a tattoo that will drive a woman mad and turn her on when I take off my clothes and she sees a tattoo. What part of the body will accomplish that?

Obviously, for women, tattoos on their legs, feet, hip, lower back, stomach, pubic area, or buttocks are all great intimate places. But what about guys?

A. Pubic area, sides,...neck?
Eh. Those are head turners for me, I guess.

Does getting a tattoo on your foot hurt?
Q. So, i know it is a tattoo so obviously it is going to hurt, and i know that everyone has different pain tolerance levels. I am just asking people that have a tattoo on their foot, how bad did it hurt for you? Thanks!

A. Like a bitch.
Not trying to scare you, but the tattoo artist suggested that I take a few painkillers before I go n get it done, and he was covered head to toe in tats. For me though, it was a cover up so he had to drill harder and shade, and it takes up the entire top of my foot. The smaller and less shading, the better. It's extra sensitive around the toes and heel. Just take deep soothing breaths, close your eyes, and have a friend with you so you can squeeze their hand. Talking is a great distraction, but I just closer my eyes and swore under my breath for 3 hrs.
The pain is only temporary, just remember that. We're women,we're strong ;)

What is the tackiest tattoo you have ever seen?

Q. Forget the damn butterflies, the black (terribly drawn) panther on the calve or the double hearts on the upper arm. I've seen plenty of tacky tattoos, but the tackiest of all was a woman with a Tweety tattoo (not kidding!) Can you top this one?

A. One of my friends has the "Your name" tattoo on his butt. His mom has a rose tattooed on her right breast and shows it to anybody who asks to see it.Not just the tattoo but the whole breast. The tackiest however. One of my coworkers has a vagina tattoo on his neck.He has to wear turtlenecks when we have company visit the plant so he doesnt offend anyone.

If you see a woman with a tattoo between her breasts what does that tell you about her?
Q. I wanted to get a tattoo and I wanted to have it right between my breasts because that seems to be the most logical place to have it since it won't stretch and I'll be able to see it. But my family thinks that that is trashy on woman. I don't won't it on my arms or legs. I could get it on the back of my neck though. But what do you think? Is that trashy to you? Would it be better to have it on the back of my neck?

A. It would greatly put out the wrong idea about you that's for sure. I would advice not getting it there unless you're out for "that" kind of attention. But at the end of the day it's your body. do with it as you wish.

Do people realize you limit your employment opporunities dramicly change when you get a neck tattoo?

Q. Being asst manager at a tire shoe when your 50 is not cool. Making $8.50 an hour.

Before you get your panties in a wad.....I know there is exception to this, but not many.

A. Your question doesn't make any sense, but at least I can understand what you mean.

That's not completely true, though. Really, it depends where on the neck the tattoo is placed and what kind of job(s) you're looking for. Where I work, they don't really care at all if you have tattoos, so long as they're not vulgar. And for women, a tattoo behind the ear or on the back of the neck can easily be hidden by hair. Jeannie Mai has tattoos on her neck, and I'd say she's doing pretty damn well for herself.

Also, people don't get jobs so others will think they are cool. Most people get jobs for the sole purpose of being able to keep a roof over their head and food on the table. Not everyone can go out and follow their dreams, and not everyone has the desire to make a lot of money. Some people prefer a simpler life.

what tattoo could i get that relates to the 50 shades of grey series?
Q. i'm a girl. i'm obsessed with the series. i wanna get a tattoo in honor lol
something that i know is about 50 shades of grey but maybe something that no one else would be able to figure out?

A. For the love of god, don’t do it. When you get more mature, you will definitely want it removed, and that costs a ton and hurts a lot. Or are you willing to be a 60 year old woman with a trashy novel forever engraved on your ***? (Don’t report that. I didn’t curse, I just typed asterisks.)

Tattoo ideas for the poem Annabel lee by Edgar Allen Poe?

Q. He is my favorite poet and Annabel Lee is my favorite poem. I want a tattoo to represent this. Any ideas would be very helpful. Also for placement it needs to be in an area I can cover easily because of work. I also have one tattoo already on my right hip that runs up to my bottom rib.

A. Something like the first link. I believe that the sea is a crucial part of this poem. It's one of my favorite Poe poems and he's also one of my favorite poets. The sea also features in 'The City and The Sea' and 'A Dream Within A Dream'. It plays a metaphorical and symbolic role in these three poems.

It means that all things will at last be swallowed up by the eternal and immortal. All rivers flow unto the sea.

I think that the first link is a nice setting with a girl on the beach and a moon. This is nice because it kind of says something beautiful and gothic like 'all our life is a shadowplay'.

Having the setting or picture placed in a frame could be really cool. Like a locket, the type of love locket that they had back in the 1800's. Men and women would keep a picture in the locket, the frame is more important in this case. Maybe an oval type shape?

The other thought was an anime type cartoon. Have you heard of 'Lenore: The Cute Dead Little Girl' or 'Ruby Gloom'? I thought perhaps a more defined anime however - Annabel Lee doesn't seem cute or little, she's a very mature sort of immortal love.

Good luck. In the end I don't want to say too much. I understand how special this poem is. The three ideas were a: the sea or beach, b: anime / cartoon caricature. And c: a locket.

Good luck.

How much do tattoos typically cost?
Q. And I realize that pain tolerance varies from person to person, but on average how bad does it hurt? What is the least painful place to get one?

And what is the best place for a woman to get one that won't stretch (or stretch the least) during pregnancy?
It's going to be a small tattoo and I'm definitely not planning on getting pregnant for a long long time =)

A. Pricing on a small tattoo will vary according to:

-actual size
-colors
-artist/studio
-state
-location of tat
-studio minimum fees

Basically, any reputable studio is going to charge between $60 and $90 as a minimum fee no matter how small the tat. If you find a place that charges less, they are usually not the type of place you want to go to. A small black-ink-only tat will usually go for somewhere in that range.

As far as pain goes, of course it varies greatly from person to person, but the general rules of thumb are:

1) anywhere on the bone tends to hurt more, examples are the spine, ankle, shoulder blades, etc.

2) anywhere with a lot of nerve endings will hurt more, for example the buttocks, rib area, inner wrist, or inner upper arm.

The top of the thigh doesn't hurt nearly as much (while the back of the thigh is quite sensitive), and the back of the hip where you have a little padding and fewer nerve endings also hurts much less. However, the pain anywhere is fleeting and all part of the experience. You'll do great. It's not all about end product, right?

If you are concerned about stretching during pregnancy, you can easily get tattooed on your back, arms, legs, or neck. Many women get wrist tats especially when they want something small, easily seen (or covered, for that matter), and not easily affected by drastic changes in weight.

Take your idea to a tattoo studio or artist you trust, and ask them any questions you might have. Consultations cost nothing and are the best way to alleviate any fears, inform yourself, and get to know the artist you'll be working with.

Best of luck!

Why are American women looking for men to either provide for them or leave them insurance money when they die?
Q. Listen, believe a husband and wife should work together to help make a family financially secure. The problem I see in this country is that American women have been conditioned to expect that men should be the sole providers. The thing that is really the problem is that men love sex so they do what their ladies want and women love money so they do what men want. This is nothing more than legalized prostitution. American women also like to get piercings, tattoos, and they like to shave legs, underarms, forearms, face, private parts, and sometimes their eyebrows! I prefer European women any day over American women.

A. James pump your brakes there buddy...I'm an American woman and I don't depend on a man for anything...I hold my own in a relationship..that sole provider stuff went out with disco balls and leg warmers...perhaps you have had some bad experiences with a few American women but trust and believe we are all not like that..and I have never put money above my an or myself...the relationship comes first.

Hey i need help convincing my mom to bleach my hair. Please read all?

Q. Okay so I have my hair currently dyed teal but it didn't turn out the way i want because since we didn't bleach it it wasn't bright enough. I really want to dye my hair this pretty green and blue style (link to see will be at the bottom) But I'm not blonde I'm like dirty blonde so for it to work right we would have to bleach my hair. My mom was going to bleach my brothers hair when he was like a year older than me. So i don't really see the difference in bleaching my hair. But she keeps putting it off and i really want that hair. Please don't comment about bleach is bad for hair or just deal with it. That doesn't help cause i wont just deal with it. I'm not that type of person. How do i convince my mom to let me bleach my hair. Thanks. Here is the link:

A. Overlapping dye onto previously colored hair is what creates dullness and dryness. If you color your hair @ home, let your roots grow out as long as you can stand, so the line of demarcation is easier to spot.

Celebrity wears two-tone hair dye all the time, trying to grow out their dye.

Her family blamed paraphenylenediamine, a chemical found in hair colour. Her family has now called for paraphenylenediamine to be banned from home dye kits. What does it represent when a woman has a tattoo on her ankle?

Q. I've known two people with this. First was my sixth grade teacher, she had a butterfly tattooed there. Then it was my therapist. I recently saw hers, couldn't see what it was clearly. An answer from an old question said that it meant that they were a lesbian. Is that true? Or is it because they work in respectable places so they can't show tattoos anywhere else but the ankle?

A. It doesn't mean anything other than they like tattoos. I have one on my ankle and 5 other ones in places ranging from my hips, neck, and arm. None of them can be seen unless I want them to be seen.

What do you you think of women with tattoos?
Q. I'm not talking about a tiny butterfly on the small of her back, I'm wondering about women who are substantially tattooed. Women with large or highly visable tattoos. Is it hot or not?

(please include your age with your answer)

A. age 30 and that depends on the woman and the tattoo's she has. i see some that look awesome and some that don't of all ages. what do you think and whats your age and why are you asking ??? just messing w/ you.

Can tattoos on your hip get stretched out?

Q. I've heard from a friend that if you get a tattoo on/near your hip that they will get stretched out if you get pregnant? Is this true?

A. Don't listen to rumors the truth of the matter is there is NO right or wrong answer. Some pregnant women have had tattoos on their stomach or hip that didn't stretch other people can gain a few pounds and the tattoo gets all out stretched. If your worried about it don't get the tattoo done in those areas because 90% of the time they will stretch.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo; should I watch the movie or read the book first?

Q. I've gained an interest in reading(or seeing) this series. I wanna read the book but I hear that the movie is fantastic. Either way, if I like one or the other i'll end up doing both but which should I do first, read the book or watch the movie?

A. Read the book. The movie doesn't add up. It's good and everything. But Lisbeth and Blomkvist went through so much. And it shows alot. Especially the murder and finding out things they didn't show all of it as it was in the book, that made it seem so easy. I think you should read the book first before watch the movie because the book is self explanitory while the movie would be hard to get into without reading the books.

*The women that plays Lisbeth Salander is amazing. Also there is strong heavy language, violence, and rape.

Have you ever watched a disturbing movie with your parents?
Q. I saw The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo with my mom in the movie theater. That was a big mistake. I saw Black Swan, but not with my mom which is good. Have you ever watched a disturbing movie with your parents?

A. I saw Black Swan with my mom in the theater. . . Awkwardddd.

When I was younger, I saw "You Don't Mess With The Zohan" with my grandmother. Half the movie was about this hairdresser giving anal sex to older women. For the record, it was my idea. My grandmother doesn't speak English and to this day, she refuses to watch American films, as a result of that movie.

Q. My ex-Japanese girlfriend said it was very Holy in Japan.
And I often got free lunches by displaying it at restaurants.
My new Korean girlfriend said it is highly revered in Korea.
And every-time I go to the Gym, there's these Vietnamese Twins that bow to me and say they can make me real happy.

I come to America, and everybody has a Hissy-fit about it.

A. That these men are blessed by the Buddhas and worthy to be with.
Either in a previous life their minds went towards the Dharma.
And this gesture of memory indicates their minds are pure, and worth the companionship.
